PSA: For those playing through Zero Dawn (remaster) who haven't played the DLC

The writers have said the best time to start The Frozen Wilds is right after the Grave Hoard mission in Zero Dawn. This will maximise the amount of extra dialogue through the rest of the game.

The DLC becomes available early after 'A seeker at the gates'. And there are three quest givers you can start the DLC from. You only need to talk with one to trigger the quest. The advice is to wait until finishing the Grave Hoard and then speaking to the quest giver right next to the mission end.

This will be Yariki, who is just outside the new area's entrance (right next to the Grave Hoard mission end). The yellow circle identifies the position below:

This is the DLC that was an upgraded version of the core engine for snow deformation etc? Is the DLC more linear and story based or ubisoft map?

Hype Train conductor. Works harder than it steams.
So if you never got the DLC you can upgrade to the PS5 version and get it free then.
I already have it but I guess some would like to know.

Yes it will.

But at this point, if you're getting the remaster 100%, I would say just wait. Since they are also re-recording, adding new lines etc. Better to just play from the start like that.

It will be more linear with decent weapons for the final stretch of Zero Dawn but the map is still quite dense

I was only a few hours in, didn't even go to the middle part of the map yet, just clearing all the beginning stuff really. Cheers though.

Btw I meant upgrade to the remaster, not upgrade PS4 version to PS5 version of og release, if that makes sense.

I expect an upgrade to Remaster will be PS4 -> PS5 version anyways, since Remaster is only PS5/PC.
