Yeah, and even dumping as well.
Seems like an awesome time to pick up a PSP, we have Tactics Ogre in February and with the PSP2 announcement later this month the system is going to be even cheaper (hopefully).

Im considering getting a 3000, is that 100% Homebrew enabled? Is there any disavantage over previous psp versions that i should worry about?

Oh, just Mathieul pissing in everyone's cereal again (and demanding credit to boot).

Seriously. If he has the keys, shit the signer or get off the pot. I'm so sick of it. Either I should find a way back to OFW and have CWCheat ability to go with my PSX/PSN emulation updates or not. :|

That's just how he is. He's an attention whore. Even if he does make a signer, he won't release it. He makes stuff for the PSP and brags about it online and never has any intention of releasing anything.

Do backups work on the Go yet? I want one, but I'd like to own physical copies of my games :)

Yep

I've been making backups via my friends psp. It's so nice being able to play crisis core and birth by sleep. I bought a go at launch and have been so insanely frustrated with the game releases. The backup loader has been such a blessing. I can finally play the games I want to play.

Does PSPGo have interlacing issues?
From totally unscientific tests using X-Rally:
Horizontal ghosting looks about like this (--- is the length of ghosting trails).

PSP1k/2k:
O----------------
O----------------
O----------------

PSP3k:
O----
O
O----

PSPGo:
O----
O----
O----

I'm still surprised by how much the so-called PSP-scene is controlled by personalities, rather than anonymous Chinese hackers doing the dirty work.

Chinese hackers only work when there are bootlegs to be sold because of the work. PSP hacking doesn't financially benefit them like it did with PS1 and PS2 where they could sell booklets of pirated CDs and DVDs.

No more playing on my 1000 :D

Hm, Secret of Mana just froze on me for the first time since playing it. Was playing around with weapons in the Menu and had to shut down the PSP to fix it.

Running SNES9xTYL (I think?) on a 6.20 TN-HEN B PSP Go. Is this a common issue?

If I recall correctly, even the actual cartridge has issues. The game was originally a SNES CD game and had to be downscaled when it was moved to the SNES.

It could have just been an emulator issue, but SoM isn't the most reliable game to test it with.

'Simple' PRX encrypter released, able to sign some homebrew apps... oh dear, the shit's about to spray.

It will be such a relief to not have to hear "Pata Pata Pata Pong" every time I want to launch HEN from a cold boot.

I just hope one day I'll be able to update to the latest firmware and still have access to all of my emulators, PS1 games and backups.

Mostly for the updated PS1 emulator.

Fair enough.

Why did the saxophone from Rafferty's "Baker Street" just go off in my head?

Apparently not. I couldn't continue my old save in Gran Turismo. Which sucks because I wanted to transfer my DeLorean to the PS3 :(

Maybe GT is the exception since it communicates with PS3?

That is actually an issue with SNES9xTYL. While it doesn't happen frequently, I've had it happen across numerous games, so definitely not limited to just Secret of Mana.

As for the signing of apps, can't wait for something beyond the "simple" signer linked above, and get a full-out signing utility... would be even more hilarious if someone could put together a CFW/OFW Extension that "signs on the fly" like the current EBoot decryption process, treating all content as signed.

HEN is signed?

So that means:

- place on MS
- launch from XMB
- play homebrews and run ISOs?

Oh god...that means it's okay to get a PSP go now, isn't it?
