Mejilan said:Are you on a NEW 5.00 M33, such as 5.00 M33-6?
Network update says I have the latest so I assume I am on M33-6. It doesn't say which M33 when I bring up the system information menu though.
Mejilan said:Are you on a NEW 5.00 M33, such as 5.00 M33-6?
Yup. The system is coming up from a power on. I've even tried it a few times. I don't have my PSP on me, so I can't check precisely what my config menu says.Mejilan said:Jet Grind Radio!: Are you sure you're looking under the Configuration category of the Recovery Menu? You're not using an XMB plugin to access an alternate Recovery Menu or anything, are you? Access the real one by fully shutting down your PSP (if it's on), and holding R while you boot up. Once in the Recovery Menu, navigate to Configuration. The version.txt option is second from the bottom, right between Hide PIC0.PNG and PIC1.PNG in game menu and Speed up MS access (the very last option).
Worst case scenario, there's probably no harm in installing a lesser 5.00 M33, and then upgrading back up to 5.00 M33-6.
PSPs with CFW can get on PSN just as easily as those with OFW. There's hardly any hassle at all. But I guess I'm just pouring salt in your wound now xD Sorry.Costanza said:edit: Fuck it, I just updated to latest OFW so I can get on PSN.. Don't care enough to do this.

Now I get an error (CA000007) when I try to play the game. It gets to the warning screen and then quits. Anyone else having this issue as well?
Aw....well fuck it. I'll just wait to see if there is anything else I can do for the time being.red shoe paul said:To downgrade from 5.00 M33-6 (which I assume you're running now) you'll need a Pandora battery and a magic memory stick with the firmware on it.
A Twisty Fluken said:Can a m33 cfw psp2000 not read 16gb memory sticks with 16gb of data on them?
red shoe paul said:Yes it can. Did you format your memory stick through the PSP? If not do that. If you did, try re-installing the firmware. If that still doesn't work there is something messed up with the card reader..
red shoe paul said:Do you have the 32mb stick you could try? If that works, then I have no idea.. I've read that the HG-Duo sticks support up to 32gb on the PSP..
red shoe paul said:If you're using an plugins, disable them.

Wouldn't the version.txt thing be easier?Mejilan said:Haven't tried it yet, but... NPDecryptor?

Don't trust the network auto-update. I thought I had the most recent version, but I didn't. Ya have to manually update.eznark said:I hate the latest CFW (according to the network updater) and I am unable to remote play. Get the "update the firmware" error. red shoe paul said:What's the exact error code? Have you tried what was mentioned above? Disabling plugins and hard resetting the console.
I googled it for you. I assume you have a recovery menu like everyone else? You know, by holding R while booting? Changing GAME plugins to disabled should solve this.Xater said:The error message is: The game could not be started. (80010013)
I don#t see the disable plugins funtion in my CFW. (5.03 GEN-A on a PSP 3000)

I can use the file I downloaded off the PSN Store in the emulator?navanman said:POPSloader & 3.71 POPS works perfect for me. The other have the audio stutter issue you mention.
Check out Mejilan's awesome POPs tutorial in the OP.
Press select from the XMB to bring up the VSH Menu. Select the Recovery option. From Recovery you will see an option to enable/disable plugins.Xater said:The error message is: The game could not be started. (80010013)

Time to give up Dark Alex's M33 as the rumor mill is he will stop releasing complete new firmware packages. Go straight to 5.50 GEN-B. Do not pass Go, do not collect $200.eznark said:I hate the latest CFW (according to the network updater) and I am unable to remote play. Get the "update the firmware" error. edit: whoops I meant "have" the latest update. 5.00 M33-6 is the latest right?
Don't bother. If you're already in a custom firmware, use Hellcat Recovery Flasher (at least v1.60) to go directly to any firmware version you want.red shoe paul said:To downgrade from 5.00 M33-6 (which I assume you're running now) you'll need a Pandora battery and a magic memory stick with the firmware on it.
You need to grab a more modern copy of Hellcat Recovery Flasher. Version 1.60 is the lowest version that supports proper operation from within ChickHEN R2. What is the exact error(s) you are getting?batbeg said:I did the ChickHEN thing, screen went green, rebooted and my firmware was 5.03 ChickHEN or whatever. So I put HC Recovery Flasher onto the PSP, loaded it up, and was consistently told that there was an error when I used it.
ChickHEN is a memory-resident hack. Once you power down your PSP the injected code goes away. ChickHEN really only enables you to run unsigned code and that's about it (the custom firmware installers are all unsigned). ChickHEN doesn't actually modify anything in your PSP's flash.I'd give you the exact error, but then HC stopped loading altogether, with my PSP saying it was a corrupt file. So I checked my firmware and now it's just 5.03, no ChickHEN or anything.
Restore your default settings. Once you have done that, try the following configuration changes:I've tried to format my stick, reinstall the programs, etc. but the ChickHEN picture just simply doesn't work for me anymore. It shows up in the directory but doesn't cause the screen to go green. Help?![]()
As long as you are using the phat-specific version of the hack, you should be fine.PSP-1000, by the way. After over 3 years of having this thing I've finally caved in and bought a larger memory stick, so want to try out CFW.

Okay I'm doing it right now. I'm up top the part where you need to dump and decrypt 4.01 and take the impose.prx file. Does this mean I need to download the OFW 4.01, run it through RSPSARDumper, and get a new impose.prx file, or can I just use the one from the 3.71 dump?navanman said:Thats the guide alright. Its looks very daunting but its just very thorough & comprehensive.
I'm basing my MGS POPS experience off my PSX disc but I imagine the PSN version has to be the same disc image. Its worth a shot anyway.
Yes.Blu_LED said:Does this mean I need to download the OFW 4.01, run it through RSPSARDumper, and get a new impose.prx file
Should I delete the DUMP file from the 3.71, or will RSPSARDumper just cover over it?EnergizerFellow said:Yes.
Is DA gonna quit the scene altogether? If so, I think it's time to upgrade to 5.50 GEN-B myself.EnergizerFellow said:Time to give up Dark Alex's M33 as the rumor mill is he will stop releasing complete new firmware packages. Go straight to 5.50 GEN-B. Do not pass Go, do not collect $200.
