I am unclear of what you are saying here...and I don't have hangul on my mac so I can't respond well. But the 는 usually means like..."is", while the other, in this case, makes Oppa turn into "oppa's". I actually didn't hear it in the video either. Had to read it later lol

I understand the possessive, I just couldn't hear it in the song. I am at the stage of learning where I pronounce 는, 은, 가 .... as separate words rather then endings on the noun.

Try HNC Romaja on your mac, it works by translating English type to Korean. For example type gangnam and the mac writes 강남.

Saw this for the first time over the weekend despite living in Asia. The song is utter shit and the techno is horrendous but that music video is amazing. So creative.

Saw it the other day. The video really pops, great visual flair and energy, irreverent and funny, not a fuck given. The pop techno has a nice buildup and chorus. Not surprised it's a hit, really.

100 million views? Goddamn.

When I'm in a bad mood, I often put this video on. It can reliably cheer me up and make me laugh. I must have watched it at least 20-30 times by now.

Best moments:
- The two old dudes getting blown up.
- The elevator door opening (I always lose it at this part).
- The second chorus with the orange-haired girl dancing.

Damn straight....anytime I'm feeling down I just watch this, it just cracks me up. I watched/listened to it so many times and I'm still not sick of it

This is why, which i said before. Its unfortunate that the first k-pop song to breakthrough in USA had to be a LMFAO meets Ken Jeong story.
What is some good K-Pop in your opinion that doesn't fit the more humourous slant of something like this?

Always been curious, but I'm woefully ignorant of Asian pop music (was pretty much nonexistent among my friends growing up in London).

Hmm, if you're looking for something that sounds similar to Gangnam Style I'd say look up Big Bang or 2NE1 on Youtube, particularly their earlier stuff. That should be a good starting point.

Leessang. Kpop/hiphop/soul/whatever.

Watching Running Man will teach you that Gary (half of Leessang) is the coolest man on Earth.

Live in LA (the female guest vocalist, JungIn, is so good. Just so good).

Clazziquai - Fill This Night

Delispice - Missing You

Some of the diversity that k-pop has to offer. If you're not really into straight up pop music these would be more your style.

random house beat and a few word in english = 50mil viewers. Yes, and how about the dumb song "I'm sexy and i know it" of your asshole usa? You have a point in your comment, you right, arguining with americans so pointless, because you guy are really stupid, or jerk, or asshole, or whatever.......
By the way, i'm not Korean, i'm Asian, and i have a last word for you, FUCK OFF BITCH...

Jesus. Just witness this. What a way to fall.

That said, I love this song! :D

LMFAO, how did I not know about this

Can we organize a campaign to make this the #1 viewed video of all time?

I think Beiber is in the lead with 776 million views. We just need to keep this video going for a few months, and that record will fall.

You mean like Community? Except this video is actually funny.

Eh? The Possessive particle is 의...of course there are possessive pronouns as well like 내, 니, 우리, etc. 는 functions as a topic particle and is also used when conjugating to the low formal present (e.g., 먹는다)....not sure how it can represent an auxiliary verb.

After much putting off, I finally watched the video and it's as good as everybody has said. And I normally hate music videos. My favorite part is the elevator part. I couldn't stop laughing.

I judge it more based on popularity in culture, not Youtube. When you have various celebs tweeting it and dancing to it every week, it's huge imo.
