I really want to play all of these physically, because I am way late to that party. I really hope they all end up on PS5 and Switch in the future. Also Xbox if they are not already. SInce we are on it, Lets get all the Metal Gear games on everything current as well.
 
Have not played Ragnarök yet

2, 5, 1, 3, 4 would be my rank so far.. I prefer the old style so far even though I loved some parts of the reboot.

Yeah... but GS, IGN, etc. have a tendency of not knowing WTF they're talking about and only include like PS4 and PS5 gen games in "best games of all time" lists... So yeah.

Can you make a poll?

And include all games...

Nobody is probably going to say ascension, but who knows.

Tough decision between 2018 and the second one. The second one was the one that brought all those epic setpieces to gaming but also popularized QTE's in action games. 2018 was a bold new direction for the series but ended up being fetch quest after fetch quest with low enemy variety. Halfway through the game, I was like, the fuck am I doing in this place, I was supposed to be taking some ashes to the top of a mountain.

For its time though, GOW2 was an amazing game and for me, PS2's swan song.
 
Only played the first 3 which were utterly fantastic. Jaw dropping, over the top, almost comical in its brutality, spectacles. I see videos of the 2018 reboot and the latest game and it seems to have lost that magic. Feels like it's more like The Last of Us now instead of what GoW originally was. Like I've said, I've only played the original 3 so take my opinion for what its worth.

I'm not going to rank them but just say that the first one is the best for me. It created everything that has value in this serie even to this day. It has the best mythological rewriting, the character of Kratos (guy killing himself in the first few seconds of the game), and of course the blades of chaos Santa Monica always failed to equal since. And despite being the first one it has basically one weak section in the entire game and is still pretty damn fun even today.

And it's usually the less praised while people are (in my opinion) really overrating the third one especially lately.

First one is very underrated. Pandora's Tenple is still one of the coolest settings in the series

The first one also had a ton of seamless loading, and was one of the first games to pull it off. The start screen and intro is probably the best intro in the series.

Wow, I hope they all end up on switch too! I'm sure they will eventually. I also hope Mario will end up on PlayStation, especially Mario Odyssey, but we should get Zelda on Xbox first, then my life will be complete.
 
In descending order starting with the best:

5. God of War 2018
2. God of War II
3. God of War III
4. God of War: Ghost of Sparta
1. God of War

I have yet to play Ragnarok.

3 2 1 haven't aged well at all, the reboot really makes them look even worse, it's hard to rank them.

I remember 3 sucked because it was too long and boring. 2 and 1 were good, even the psp title was meh.
