I gave an A because the two games I wanted to see was there. Would have been an S grade for me if they cancelled FairGames on top of that, but maybe Im asking too much.

No, in all seriousness it was a good showing. Wolverine looks great and though I didnt know Saros was a spiritual successor to Returnal, well...I really love Returnal so I did not mind this at all.

I feel like Sony is getting back to what matters and it just took them sometime to show it. Definite an A from me

Spring seems like it's gonna be a good time next year. Something to look forward to

Saros and Wolverine look amazing and obviously stole the show (and people thought that Insomniac was not up to the task of making a violent action game 🤭 ), GT7 Spec III is great news.

2026 is shaping up to be a fantastic year and Q1 looks already completely stacked (I'm definetly getting RE9, the new 007 game, Saros, Dragon Quest VII and I'd like to get Nioh3 but realistically there's no way I can play all that stuff in a short time).

I liked many of the third party announcements like the ZA/UM's new game Zero Parades, the Deus Ex remaster, Chronoscript seems promising but the show lacked a bit on the "big" third party announcements.
Capcom and the Yakuza team did their own thing so it's understandable, I don't know if the FF9 remake dream is over or not at this point.

So you still pay respects despite hating it?

didn't expect much and it was still pretty rubbish.

Saros being the only good game does alot of the heavy lifting.

Who would have though HouseMarque and AstroBot would be carrying PS5 this gen

Sanos was all I needed here. Can't wait.

Some other cool stuff too, but won't be playing those on console. Wolverine looked promising, but I find the Spiderman games boring, so i'm not holding my breath for that one yet.

B- / C+

Great stuff:
  • Saros + release date (GOTY)
  • Wolverine gameplay reveal (GOTY)
  • Nioh 3
  • Battlefield 6
  • Gran Turismo 7 Spec III Update (GT series sold 100M)
  • PS+ (Alan Wake, Cocoon, Goat Simulator 3, TLOUP2R, Tekken 3, Soul Calibur 3, Tomb Raider Anniversary)
  • Pulse Elevate
  • Flight Simulator PS5 port with PSVR2 support
  • Crimson Desert

Pretty good niche-ish stuff that will have its fans but isn't for me:
  • Final Fantasy Tactics Refurbished
  • 7th Deadly Sins Origin
  • Sonic Racing Crossworlds: Mega Man & Proto Man DLC
  • Zero Parades (new game from Disco Elysium creators)
  • Chronoscript
  • Code Vein II
  • Let it die - Inferno
  • GoW DualSense

Meh / why the fuck did they include this in a SoP?
  • Deus Ex Remastered
  • Halloween: The game
  • Last Epoch whatever
  • Dinasty Warriors 3 Remastered

A- or B+ because it's late September and I've expected a lot less, many truly interesting reveals are usually moving to TGA at this point.

Loved what I've saw it Saros and Wolverine
Spec 3 is pretty feature-heavy and free update for GT7
Last Epoch is finally coming to consoles
MSFS2024 with native PSVR2 support is actually pretty big news
Pulse speakers is an interesting concept and audio products by Sony are usually very good in sound-to-price ratio

Good thing I've watched trailers and not live though, I guess.

Compare this to the Summer SoP's list and you'll see why. A few games can only do so much heavy lifting.
Im pretty sure the Summer's state of Play was not as good as this one. Ill admit i am a bit jaded though. I didnt sit through the whole thing. I watched it after the stream was over. Skipped the parts I was not interested in and I guess it left me feeling more satisfied knowing Saros and Wolverine was shown. Nioh 3 was also exciting for me and I suppose it's also good Sony folks will get to play Microsoft Simulator. I think my expectations were low and so I was pleasantly surprised

F but I'm not that cruel so E.

Nothing felt new and exciting or mysterious. Everything felt so "end of the day so let me relax sitting in front of my TV, switch on the PC and mash some buttons, see some numbers and get a bit of that dopamine hit" before I have dinner and go to bed.

It felt like every game is sanitized, nothing feels raw anymore. I want a controversial game, I want a game that splits the fanbase as only then it's good.

How are people saying Saros and Wolverine stole the show and still give it a mediocre score? This is crazy to me
Well I don't care either for roguelike and Marvel, they literally showed nothing I like other than FFT that coming pretty soon.

For me it was way worse than being mediocre.

I rate it an E. There was only one game that looked interesting to me, but not so much that I lost my mind in excitement over it. Seven Deadly Sins: Origins. Interested, but not blown away. Tactics looks good but already knew about it.

Here was that show's list:

great showcase of JP dev teams, with a few western surprises.
  • Lumines Arise
  • Romeo is a deadman
  • Silent Hill F gameplay and release date this year (Sept 25th, 2025)
  • Bloodstained: The Scarlet Engagement
  • Digimon Time Stranger gameplay, story, and release date this year (Oct 03rd, 2025)
  • Final Fantasy Tactics: The Ivalice Chronicles with enhanced graphics, fully voiced dialogue, and gameplay refinements (Sept 30th, 2025)
  • Hirogami (Sept 3rd, 2025)
  • Cairn gameplay showcase (Nov 5, 2025 with demo out today)
  • Mortal Kombat Legacy Kollection with Rollback Netcode
  • Metal Gear Solid Delta release date (August 08th, 2025)
  • Nioh 3 (Demo shadowdrop)
  • Thief VR
  • More Astrobot content
  • Sword of the Sea (August 19th, 2025)
  • Ghost of Yotei deep dive announcement for July
  • Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls (Arc System Works 4v4 fighter)
  • 007 First Light Sneak Peek (Which actor is playing him?)
  • Sea Remnants (Open world RPG with Turn based combat and with ship combat?)
  • Tides of Tomorrow (Feb 24th, 2026) *This has potential to be huge(multi-tiered story where other players have an effect? and the game looks like kind of like a modern Brink)*
8 New game announcements, 6 new I.P., mostly gameplay shown and fun looking gameplay at that.
Most of these reveals also included gameplay. Again though, I've noticed that these things depend on the individual's preference. If you're someone who's not into Japanese games as much, then I can understand why the summer show was not as good to you(same if you're someone who values graphical presentation above everything else), but even then it's difficult to discount the few western reveals that looked good during the summer show too.

So overall for me a B- will be the fair score to give this SOP. Saros looks fantastic, MS flight sim is good news for those with psvr2 like me, and Crimson looks great on third party side. I'm still cautiously optimistic about wolverine. Wolverine looks great and brutal, but for me and I'm just worried about the frustrating virtue signaling again like for example twisted woke agenda push that are unnecessary which what had happened to SM2. One more exclusive at least a teaser could have ace it, like GOW egypt or StellarBlade2 or some concept art for Physint(It really looks like SB2, Physint and maybe even GoW egypt will be for ps6).

This is a solid B.

I think this is a great showing by them.

To get in that wild area of A, you need a new game announced that is of the AAA variety lol To get into the S rank area, you need several new ones and a return to an old classic or something.

Overall, this is a great showing, we have a nice look at 2026 by Sony, solid 3rd party showings, new content for GT7 and other titles

Will of course by BF6, Zero parades, Wolverine and Nioh 3.

What the fuck happen to Bluepoint Games? Are they gonna show something soon?
They are support team who did stop making remasters and remakes to support instead in new games like God of War Ragnarok.

They don't have and never had people in the key job roles to lead their AAA / AA own games (game director, creative director...) and their game design team are just a handful games. Regarding the GaaS rumor, they don't have and never had anybody in any job roles of the the GaaS specific areas.

Since the GoWR release they must have been supporting somebody else's game (GaaS or not) mostly in art and a little in coding/tech, which is what they do.

I didnt watch it. Skimming the headlines it seems like a pretty solid SoP. 2 first party games is practically unheard of for Sony.

B+ probably. We already knew about Saros and Wolverine. They both seem about what you would expect. Returnal 2 with permanent progression which was massively botched in the 1st game. Art and graphics are gorgeous. Wolverine looks like the leaks. At least it seems gory so thats good. Would be a fun enough blockbuster hack and slash game. I'd rent it or get on sale and probably enjoy it, but it seems like another Arkham combat game with gory cutscenes, safe but probably fun.

It was just bad with no new first-party announcement and overall mid third-party games. Saros is just a reskinned Returnal. Wolverine doesn't looks as good as Spider Man I don't see any new idea there.

So E, of course.

B. I don't do +/- so i'll be generous.

MSFS 24 with PSVR 2 support is low-key game of the show. Anybody who owns a headset will understand.

Cronos is more Returnal with a big visual upgrade. Hard not to see that as anything other than a win.

Wolverine looked awesome. GAF is of course hallucinating right now that he's gonna say "trans rights!" in between kills.

Chronoscript's art style looked awesome. A very pleasant surprise.

Deus Ex Remastered, on the other hand, was a monkey paw wish. Absolutely wretched looking work. What happened after the great Tomb Raider remasters, Aspyr?

Nioh 3 is shaping up to be one of the best games next year. The beta was amazing. In the battle of Nioh 3 vs Onimusha, I stand firmly with the former.

Other stuff like Battlefield 6's single player showing I didn't care for. I'm buying that for multiplayer only... on PC.

Q1/2 2026 is looking packed. Don't see how anyone can be disappointed with this:

Dragon Quest VII Reimagined - Feb 05
Nioh 3 - Feb 06
Yakuza Kiwami 3 - Feb 12
Resident Evil Requiem - Feb 27
Saros - March 20
Grand Theft Auto VI - May 26
FATAL FRAME II: Crimson Butterfly Remake - TBA

Onimusha: Way of the Sword - TBA
Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls - TBA

Solid B/B+ from me.

Main issue was the content was a little samey, but plenty of stuff in there that I liked.
Early 2026 looks absolutely stacked, although frankly, Nioh 3 is all I really need - especially if it is supported with the usual 3 DLC's spread over the year.

C. We got two first party games shown, and a Microsoft first party game. They should have put a new trailer for Tokon with a Feb 2026 release date, that would've moved it to a B.
Where the eff is Ace Combat 8?
Is FF9 remake truly dead?
Also did they even acknowledge Ghost of Yotei when it releases in like two weeks?

I missed it because I was busy this afternoon, so I figured I would check this thread to see if it was worth watching tonight, and ... I still have no idea.

I'm not sure I have ever seen this even a spread of poll results.

C+

Games/moments of note:
  • Saros gameplay reveal
  • Zero parades gameplay reveal
  • Battlefield 6 campaign reveal
  • Nioh 3 story reveal and release date
  • Deus Ex Remastered announcement
  • Mega Man DLC in Crosswolds
  • Dynasty Warriors 3 Remake reveal
  • Code Vein 2 gameplay and release date
  • Let it Die Inferno reveal
  • Chronoscript reveal
  • Crimson Desert story and release date reveal
  • Alan Wake 2, Cocoon, Goat Simulator 3 PS Plus monthly games
  • Soul Calibur 3 and Tekken 3 arriving to PS Classics
  • Marvel's Wolverine gameplay reveal with Liam McIntyre as Logan
A bit too many "new updates on games coming out very soon" but the few reveals were solid.
That's all that was there?
