Red Dead Redemption 2 - New Screenshots

Bummer about the delay.

Just clicked the link. Everyone pretty much called it when the game was announced, but it still sucks.

I never actually finished the first game, I remember it having lots of frame rate drops and I just couldn't get past them so I dropped it. Hopefully #2 will be more stable.

I'm glad they're paying attention to the important things, like that leather jacket texture. No sarcasm, a proper worn and busted leather duster is /paramount/ for me when it comes to living out a cowboy fantasy.

I have to disagree, there are several proof pictures that show Rockstar put out bullshot pictures, especially in the wood parts where they showed lots of vegetation

Top is final game, bottom is from trailer

The vegetation wasn't necessarily a bullshot at the time. Lots of in-house developer shots were leaked from the beta version of the game, which showed mass amounts of vegetation. Most of it was eventually cut due to hardware limitations or art direction changes.

Here are a few examples (via GTAForums)

Looks great.

I've never been the biggest Rockstar fan but had a blast with RDR1 and this is shaping up to be incredile. Can't wait.

Shame about the delay but I saw that one coming from miles away.

The screenshots are damn fine though and I am excited regardless.

I may have a 1080ti by then, hope it will go down in price.

Looks fantastic and the best kind of settings.

I'm so excited for this game! I personally think nobody creates better "sandboxes" than Rockstar. I've chosen "sandbox" specifically because I think there are games you could categorize as "Open-world" that are just as good, if not better, than what Rockstar has created (Witcher 3 and BOTW, for example). However, when it comes to creating game worlds that you just want to be in, and giving you options to just mess around and have fun interacting with those worlds (as in, a sandbox), I still think Rockstar is king. Also, these screenshots look incredible! Can't wait, y'all.

Confession time: I've never played a Rockstar game.

I intend to remedy that as soon as this comes out. Looks outstanding.

Man, I'm hoping Rockstar pushes the PS4 Pro and Scorpio hardware to the max with this game.

Love what I'm seeing.

Looks amazing... expect from grass in some of the screenshots. But you can't have it all I guess.

I'm also wondering if those shaders will make their way into final version of the game - they tend to put a lot of pressure on a hardware, not really sure if current gen can handle those in open world enviroment.

....And every other publisher releasing games this fall just breathed a huge sigh of relief.

Ubisoft must be creaming themselves, releasing two open-world games this fall. Or if they weren't planning on releasing both this fall, I'm sure they're thinking about it now ;^)

I think this is a hint that they need more time to make the graphics better.

This outlaw epic set across the vast and unforgiving American heartland will be the first Rockstar game created from the ground up for the latest generation of console hardware, and some extra time is necessary to ensure that we can deliver the best experience possible for our fans.

Are these a woman's hands, or does the main dual wielding guy just shave his hands/arms?

I'm mainly asking since these are so detailed that it seems improbable they wouldn't be able to paint on some hair.

They looks somewhat thick compared to normal video game woman hands, but Rockstar's games also tend to feature regular humans.

I was asking some other mods and got a mixed response, so I was curious what people here thought.

FUCKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKK SPRING 2018

When is the PC release

pls I do not want to buy this on my Shitbox one or Indiestation 4

I really wonder what the platform differences will be, performance wise. Even with the marketing deal, will there be another "HAS NO GRASS" catastrophe?

Hope the PC release comes at the same time!

look at the details on the revolvers, maybe they released this rather odd screenshot to tease first person mode instead of a female character?

and about the shaving part i don't understand, do you have such hairy hands? :P looks pretty normal for a male hand to me

Uh, he's not wrong, your average guy has some hair on the back of their hand and leading up their fingers. There's not even hair near the wrist. His point is that there's nothing definitive about the character based on that shot.

Lol I had the same thought.

What's interesting is that this screenshot is taken in way that makes it very hard to compare the sizes of the index and ring finger, which is where I would probably start when trying to figure out gender from just hands.

It's a nice gun, I'll give you that. But the engravings give you no tactical advantage whatsoever, unless you were planning to auction it off as a collectors item.
