Red Dead Redemption 2 - New Screenshots

Are these a woman's hands, or does the main dual wielding guy just shave his hands/arms?

I'm mainly asking since these are so detailed that it seems improbable they wouldn't be able to paint on some hair.

They looks somewhat thick compared to normal video game woman hands, but Rockstar's games also tend to feature regular humans.

I was asking some other mods and got a mixed response, so I was curious what people here thought.

We all aren't that hairy ;_;

But in all seriousness you can't really but the hands themselves and the thickness of the knuckles makes me think its a man.

but we'll be able to dual wield

Bahahaha, that's the spirit!

I want more of Dutch's mantra, and what kind of evil fucked up shit these men and women did in the name of thinking they were doing good. Complexity in morality is key, but I hope some of the people we get to play as are evil as hell.

The last one of the hands is really nice, I'm legitimately shocked people are calling this blurry never change Gaf. I am looking at this a phone ATM but I thought these were pc shots when I saw them.

I was hoping the next set of media would show off the inevitable first person mode.

Not much to gleam from these shots beyond its still looking good since the reveal. Though the town shot looks to feature less clutter and details than the trailer promised of that storefront. Didn't ever have much hope of seeing that level of detail though.

Didn't the remaster look as good as that though? Or am I misremembering?
with the second one, the PC version likely looks like that. the thing with the PS3 version was that it may have actually been modeled to look like that, but the draw distance was turned down. I can't quickly find a video, but those hills likely have trees but just they ended up deciding not to draw them from so far away on PS3.

same thing happened between PS4 version pics even and then PC pics.... e.g. video below

On PC, the official screenshots (and in game) you can see the foliage from the road but the screenshots from PS4 you can't. this caused a bit of hoopla back at PC pre-release. but if you actually drive closer, the foliage is there. same thing could be the case for those trees in the second shot on the PS3 version... I forget if those exact trees are there but most of that mountainside is not barren on PS3 IIRC -- it's just the draw distance isn't nearly that far.

as for 1st shot.... not sure. that first pic probably actually isn't from the game. the angle is wrong.

that said, it's probably indicative of it... regardless of where its from, right. it's kinda besides the point cuz even if that shot isn't from the final version of the game, it's probably pretty indicative of how it looked on ps3. ps4 (at 720p mind you cuz it was PS Shared) looks a bit more similar i guess but I suppose it wasn't until PC that the game really matched the original shots

the game was probably running internally like that in the bullshots but could just never get a good ps3 or ps4 frame rate with quite the same draw distance/fire effects/etc

Looks really great. Yay for 2+ year wait for PC version, because even when we buy millions of copies of their game we're still not important to them. :(

I wish I could just ride around the landscape and hunt without dealing with the story. It was such a slog in RDR. :(

Now that I'm on a proper monitor, those shots definitely look soft.

I mean these look too good to be real but I thought the same back when I saw the first Red Dead Redemption 1 screenshots and it's Rockstar after all.

They really don't. Nothing in these shots look better than stuff we've seen in other games.

god this is one of my most anticipated games of all time, just like RDR was. i dont know how they will top it. i was a bit disappointed with GTA5, but theres also some fantastic things about that game.

i just hope they do RDR2 right. i trust rockstar for the most part. RDR was a perfect game. story, gameplay, multiplayer, dlc, was all fantastic. let me kneecap random people during a duel, and disarm them or shoot off their hat. the gunplay in RDR was so damn fun. better than any GTA

Can't wait.
Hope they can measure up to Horizon in terms of image quality and stuff though.. I have a feeling it looks a bit more dithered and jaggy in actual gameplay.

Well excuse me for being impressed? Sorry 'bout that.

Fair enough I couldn't look at them at full res either before so I can understand where you are coming from now, but at least at first glance given the fidelity they are going for it looked extremely impressive for a third-party open-world title.

Hope they can measure up to Horizon in terms of image quality and stuff though.

Doubt it. A third party developer creating a multi-platform title up against a 1st party dev creating a game solely for one platform with access to the latest drivers and libraries directly from the manufacturer?

Artistically you can't fault R* in any way but technically, as great as they are, I just don't see them matching up with Guerilla.

Besides which, don't think it should matter in the end. GTA 5 is a upgraded port of a PS3 game but (to me anyway) it's still one of the best looking games on the PS4 because of the artistic work R* put into it.

Love those shots. The attention to detail already shows nicely here.
I can not put into words how hyped I am for this game.
I am sure that Rockstar will deliver and the delay just makes me more confident in that.

A new Rockstar title always makes me feel like I'm a kid again and I know the weeks upon release I won't be able to think about anything else.

I do still have hopes that they will release a remaster of RDR on current gen and PC in the meantime. It would make the wait so much easier!

Looks pretty good overall. It's not mind blowing but it's open world so I'll cut it some slack. I guess I was expecting more. Will have to wait for the full reveal. I doubt that I won't be pleased with the end product

Typical Rocktsar. First announce a delay then give the people a few screenshots to shut them up.

Not too pissed, I was expecting a delay. This was never going to happen in 2017.

R* does indeed like to put some very pretty bull shots out there. However, given their history - their promo images do a great job of showing the artistic direction they are headed. I'm pumped.

That image quality doesn't look too great.

The PC version will look nice though.

Four years from now.

If we're lucky.

At least there doesn't seem to be any chromatic aberration this time.

Ok, now these look like actual in-engine shots. The announcement trailer seemed too good to be true just like GTA V's first trailer.
