Any good tips on easiest ways to generate a lot of $$$$?

Head down to Rio Bravo (it's available at the beginning) and kill wolves. You usually get three parts (meat, pelt, and heart), and each sells for between $12-18, for a net of about $40 each. Add in that they are found in packs, and you're set.

I made almost $500 in about 10 minutes.

Think I found a bug that can be helpful.
If you're skinning an animal get off the horse right next to the corpse, when you skin you won't have to get the goofy "skinning" animation etc. The game just seems to automatically skin the creature for you. (probably because the horse model is in the way).
The skinned animal still appears to have a skin but the items appear in your pack and you can't skin the creature again.

Might save some people some time, assuming it's not a pain to park your horse near the corpse.

Don't kill anyone, thief, night watch job, bounties .. capture all targets alive.

Also, I just had one of those crazy RDR stories ..

So I was horse backing across the expanse and ran into a broken prison carriage in the middle of the road, there was an injured guard yelling at me to capture the prisoners, one was a bit close, the other was far away. I shot the closer one and ran after the farther one and roped him in alive, took him back to the guard and place the roped prisoner at his feet. Guard says thank you and hands me the money. I get on my horse and start riding away when I hear a single gun shot behind me, I quickly turn around to see the roped prisoner bleeding out of his head and the injured guard limping away laughing.

An audible "What the fuck" later I was on my way.
Okay that's totally a spoiler as I haven't played at all yet, but goddam I don't even care, this game sounds so cool.

I just went after a bounty, and I tried to take the guy alive, but I accidentally killed him. I don't get it, as I shot him in the leg, and he just tried to hobble along. I shot him in the leg again and he died. How do I take him alive?

Anyone else rarely use dead eye? Outside of large gunfights in missions, i never use it when roaming, hunting, or one-on-one encounters.

I didn't use it for the longest time, then I figured out how to use it. Now I'm using it whenever I get too rushed. It's similar to how I figured out (about five hours in) that you can use Stasis on the enemies in Dead Space. Good lord, that made the game a bunch easier!

Lasso and hogtie him. You get the lasso from finishing the tutorial (bonnie's missions)

Loot everyone you kill. I usually get about 4 bucks a body. Also I hear the 5 finger filet is another way but I see you are having some trouble with that.

Too tedious, same with hunting most animals that aren't on the challenge list. Bounties are the best, roadside little side missions pay out okay and make sure to check different chests/boxes around a gang infested area.

Euphoria needs to be in every shooter. Other enemy reactions will feel inadequate in the future, I'm sure.

Is Euphoria just really prohibitively expensive? Seems strange that almost no other games use it, despite the obvious benefits.

Five Finger Fillet is the best way to make money or if there are better ways later on, it won't really matter as nothing costs that much.

The only other game I now that used it was The Force Unleashed, which had a huge budget. So yeah, I'm guessing the price of entry is just too large for many developers.

I think Lucasarts (?) charges a large amount for it in licensing fees.

Where can I find boars? I think I've seen some near Thieves' Landing once, but never since. Anyone have a good place to round some up?

Probably one of the reasons. Havok being the industry standard many devs have gotten used to might be another, Nvidia pushing Physx greatly a third.

oh well.

Map should tell you where boars are (the fold out map with the game)... I really hope Euphoria de-thrones Havok next gen. Rag doll is so nasty.

As someone pointed out, you need the lasso first. Do some story missions until you get it.

I should really check out that map. I just ripped the disk out and threw it in my PS3 as fast as possible. And then waited for an install...

From what I understand what you see in GTA4 and RDR in terms of Euphoria is Rockstar specific. The physics and AI you see is not commercially for sale.
I recall a developer recently talking about the fact that you can't simply get Euphoria as a commercial plug-in.

did anyone get their 20 dollar credit from Amazon, I pre-ordered, and I still haven't gotten it yet! :(

Call their customer service, they are very good about fixing this stuff.

I went to use by Battlefield BC 2 $20 credit and it wasn't working. I called up, turns out the credit expired a few days earlier. Not only did they give me the credit anyway, they put it into my account as cash for me to use towards any order.

I believe they should aswell (but charge a very modest price)... I want to make my own shop D=

I am running around, skinning stuff and having fun. Being able to have your own shop and sell goods would be pretty badass.

So I bought a horse from the general store but don't see it and he doesn't respond to my whistle. What gives? Coat me $750 so I hope it isn't some sort of bug..

The in-game map does as well, though I can't remember if it did before I bought the 'expose all locations' at the store.

Has anyone encountered this when entering multiplayer?

You first go into free roam automatically, but when I find a public game it says it got a connection error and will return me to free roam. However it just keeps loading forever, and I have to soft reboot the game :\.

Anyone? R* help?

We're aware that some people are experiencing this on some online load screens and are working to resolve it as quickly as possible.

You have to open your satchel and use the deed to the horse.

Think you have to "use" the deed from the inventory once.

Found it. Thanks to you and Haunted. Looks like I can always get one now -- nice! I figured it was a one time thing.

Aha! Now there's a use for it! Thank you. I know the map normally doesn't, so those maps at the store must.

I'm afraid to buy an awesome and expensive horse in case I accidentally shoot it like I did my last one. :lol
The deed stays in your inventory forever - you can use it to keep spawning horses.

Quickest way to make maaaad cash for me was the $200 dice roll game. Once you get the hang of it you can clean house and make $400 a game.

Wow really?

So I've been using a default horse for the last four hours? I bought a horse deed but had no idea you had to "use" it.

Ran into this bug in Thieves Landing where you open a gate into the warehouse and the gate is all the sudden attached to your head and matches your character movement. When you're finished opening or closing the gate it stops wherever it is. I had the bandana on at the time, might have something to do with that.
