How are they killing the system before it comes out? These threads are seen by a few thousand or so. This has absolutely zero bearing on the outcome of a system.

Obviously not killing it for the entire market. For the people who speculate. Regardless of the outcome there is bound to be some level of disappointment if you spend enough time buying into all of these specs.

As in it'll be as successful as E.T. The Game? Yeah maybe. :p

Wouldn't be too worried. Most know to keep their expections in check about these things. Especially after the wii u speculation threads...I hope.

No, that's the alleged name for their OS system. The rumored name for the console is Nintendo Extra, or the NEX. According to the leaker, it's a play on NES and Nintendo's tenth console.
Whenever Someone tries to claim the next system will be called a variant of "nes" I know it's bullshit. Pure fanboy wankery.

DDR3 is very cheap, but does not make sense, this would mean they would need ESRAM on the APU like XB1.......which would mean a smaller GPU.

Plot thickens...

Only if we're now believing every unverified source from Reddit. But if we're going down that route then the plot is already thick enough.

Which makes absolutely no sense since Nintendo has released six home consoles, seven if you include virtual boy.

They've released four gens of handhelds.

It would be cool if it did line up though. The only way it lines up is if they counted this way: Color TV Game, NES, SNES, N64, Gamecube, Panasonic Q, Wii, Wii Mini, Wii U, but that just doesn't seem right to me.

If you're going to include the Panasonic Q and Wii Mini you need to include the AV Famicom/NES101 and the Super Famicom Jr./SNES "Mini".

Why would Nintendo make their console more expensive by putting in way too much RAM?

Don't believe that for one bit.

Not that I believe this but they have traditionally launched later with more RAM than Sony with N64, GC, and Wii U. Not Wii obvs.
edit: wait GC was less wasn't it, never mind!

If it's true, I'd buy one just to support Nintendo, hoping that a big succes would drive them far away from gimmicks.

But I doubt that they applied common sense this time around.

I love Nintendo but they'd better fucking not call the system Nintendo Extra. That's a shit name.

There's no point in believing that since only higher ups and Nintendo would know. The name of the system is highly confidential and only key people would know. If there's some lower level dev who now knows you can bet they'll be getting a swift kick out the door.

Gimmicks are the only thing that's going to get customers to buy their hardware, to be fair.

If they make a box that's nigh-identical to the Xbox One and/or Playstation 4, why would anyone buy it when the Xbox One and Playstation 4 are arguably bigger, more established brands to the average consumer these days?

1) NES
2) Gameboy (Color/Advance/SP/Micro falls under here)
3) SNES
4) Virtual Boy
5) N64
6) Gamecube
7) DS (DSi, LL/XL, 3DS and n3DS family goes here)
8) Wii
9) Wii U
10) NEX

True, no idea how he came up with the 10 or if it is true how Nintendo came up with 10.

Edit: Looks like Brofield has a more competent list than what I was thinking.

I've stated before and since any specs were revealed this gen most would have shitty cpus this turned out to be true, so to be fair my own perspective is skewed.

amd 8350 stock >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> NX>>>>> X1 >> PS4>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Wii U. All 3 of big 3 manufacturers got this issue wrong, yet I know next gen 2 of them won't cause they tend to do a decent job. Nintendo isn't impressing anyone.

The post I saw earlier on reddit said it would have a CPU based on A8 7600... is this close to it?
