Nintendo seems to attract all the leaky mc crazies, more so than Sony or Microsft I think, it's madness every time a new bit of hardware is mentioned...All these leaks what a clusterfuck.
EDIT 2: Apparently friend code wasn't the correct term. You can only add people you know.
Can't happen because that means the entire cartridge memory would have to be rewritable, which just sounds like a really bad idea (I mean, I guess that's more or less how the famicom disk system worked but that was a different era).
Typical a cartridge is composed of two different memory banks. A large bank of true ROM and a comparatively tiny bank of rewritable memory. That way the main game data can't be tampered with, for better or worse (it would suck if your cart corrupted and didn't just lose your save data but also the entire game). If Nintendo were to go the same route then realistically the rewritable memory couldn't be larger than maybe 512MB, or else the cartridges would be way too expensive.
Personally though, I think the best option would be to just ditch the save memory altogether. Make the cartridges ROM only and save to external memory (to clarify external to the cartridge, not necessarily the system), as long as you don't pull a Vita, we're golden.
Yup, this makes everything even more suspicious.Friendcodes?! They don't zabe friendcodes on the Wii U...so why should they bring them back if u have a unique username with your Nintendo account? And he seems not to talk about the handheld so it smells like bullshit here.

What does this even mean?He updates with "EDIT 2: Apparently friend code wasn't the correct term. You can only add people you know."

Shut it all down, this is top level trash tier. GAF being taken for fools. He updates with "EDIT 2: Apparently friend code wasn't the correct term. You can only add people you know."
My points of reference are PS4 and 3DS. I've been told that you can't just openly add people like on PS4... hence the friend code statement.

he says
How can you know them though without adding them, this guy is full of shit
NEX is happening fam. I love that name too much.
Just imagining it now:
*walks into EB games*
"Hey I'd like to buy a copy of Watch Dogs 2"
"No problem, for which console?"
*pulls down glasses and leans in with emphasis*
"The En-ee-ex please".
The logo is apparently NEX in white letters with a red background like the new Nintendo logo on the YouTube videos.
It feels like this topic should be closed at this point. Why are any of you even giving these Reddit posts anytime of your day? It's as fake as can be. I might as well go on Reddit and post random vague stuff and I'll get the internet talking about it. How would you even mess up "friend codes"? Then there's an update which makes no sense.
It rolls off the tongue only barely more than Wii U. From what I understand, NES wasn't the mainstream nomenclature for that system until SNES came out.

If the rumor is true, i will be interesting to see which Nintendo game is using UE4, maybe Retro's new game?
studios (that I know of) that are building / porting to NX only have access to software
physical dev-kits out in the wild; multiple "gimmicks" with the NX, one is optional
I asked this yesterday and am not sure if I got any replies to it, but my understanding (and I know at this point this is just a hypothetical question since the leaker was deemed unverified) is that Nintendo has not ever used a UE or non-proprietary engine for their games. Is that correct?

This needs to stop
Can we go back to GAF sources vetted by GAF mods?
Exactly the same.
That's how Miitomo is and it's annoying and a step backwards from wiiuIt actually fits perfectly with what I heard and that's social media integration, where you can add people from those (outside) lists.
So you'd first have to add people on social media, before you can add them on the NX.
I have no source for this, I heard Ian talking about it on CUPodcast.
As predicted, the verified leak is getting lumped in with the clearly-bullshit leaks because no-one can read/follow a link themselves.
Honestly Im not sure we can trust any info that doesnt involve a leaker completely outing who he is and who he works for
Nex (necks) roles off the tongue quite well
That would be a career suicide, though. Nobody would do this sort of thing.
I wonder if Nintendo will (ever) do anything like Playstation Live or whatever its called.
Would be awesome to stream or archive videos onto miiverse 2.0 or something haha.
If I understand correctly, this is the same kind of thing MK8/MKTV offers.
