i like Lindsay too but it's clear she is just a shill at this point. her last video was merely regurgitating plot points to GOT without even any critique while doing a lame "meta" product placement. she is getting PBS money too it seems, which sort of means people tell her what to produce, which is probably fine, as she seems to only cover popular movies & Disney films anyway. if you are a serious film student into feminism or whatever there is a long history of independent films she seems to ignore entirely in favor of talking about popular garbage.I have to question whether she and her fellow woke group really do have a grip on 'nerd culture.'
Yeah, I did see that she's featured in some PBS videos. Her being there though says a lot of how PBS' standards have fallen if they're willing to hire woke content producers like her. I remember they had a show about videogames that was hosted by that SJW prick Jamin Warren.i like Lindsay too but it's clear she is just a shill at this point. her last video was merely regurgitating plot points to GOT without even any critique while doing a lame "meta" product placement. she is getting PBS money too it seems, which sort of means people tell her what to produce, which is probably fine, as she seems to only cover popular movies & Disney films anyway. if you are a serious film student into feminism or whatever there is a long history of independent films she seems to ignore entirely in favor of talking about popular garbage.
I love them for that. Mike and the rest are not afraid to make fun of the latest pop culture trends and how people get obsessed with them. Their brave stand against the SJW outrage over Ghostbusters 2016 is the best example of this. They didn't cave when mainstream media was attacking people like James Rolfe for daring to speak out and being labeled as misogynists just for not liking the film. The movie being bad and bombing had to have been a great vindication for the RLM crew.i love RLM because they talk about popular garbage. they are perfect for the medium, which typically produces nothing but hot takes and corporate sycophants anyways. watched a bunch of Nerd Crew stuff last night, it was basically the same blockbuster fellating that goes on in Era whenever they aren't on a witch hunt crusade.

Really, what disappoints me about Lindsay the most is how she and the rest of her woke posse handled the break off from Channel Awesome. Now I'm not excusing Doug Walker or the rest of the CA of any wrongdoing. If they were bad bosses like Lindsay and the others claim they deserve to be called out. But way before the blowup Lindsay was all praises for Doug and kept complimenting him on what a nice guy he was. Then she does a complete 180 and calls him out for all sorts of shit? All this flip flopping makes it hard to believe which story is true. She also comes off as ungrateful for all that Doug Walker did for her. Like it or not Lindsay was discovered by Doug and gave her first exposure in the first place.

Their Ghostbusters Scientist Man video is great. They proved the amount of anti feminist comments in response to the trailer was like .02% of possible responses. The media was making a mountain out of a molehill but even if you point this out objectively using math it’s not enough.

A Critique of Red Letter Media’s Bigoted Content (See Staff Post)
For years now, RLM has been given a pass because people find their content entertaining. Despite multiple instances of blatant sexist, racist and anti-progressive rhetoric, they remain widely referenced and enjoyed by ERA. When folks bring up their problematic commentary, it's often ignored or...www.resetera.com
The gang returns to watch some more top notch cinema excellence
The boys are back, again! Talking comic con, Picard, streaming services, and MidSommar
I haven’t seen MidSommar yet so I can’t watxh that part of video. Time stamps are in description
Mike: “I’m too exhausted to be exhausted. I just don’t care anymore” in regards to Phase 4 timeline
Pretty on-point video for me. Already expressed my disdain for more superhero movies in the other threads. Comic-con in general is a culture that I will never understand. "I love standing in lines to be advertised to" pretty much summed it all up.
this is one of the big problems with these long running franchises. at a certain point the work enters the public consciousness and influences all future work. there arise these meta fan narratives which are fed back into the work itself. it becomes it's own echo chamber. the fact that filmmakers are calling themselves "lifelong fans" and "promising to listen to the fans" all the time is a sickness IMO that is killing these once vital properties. the minute an artist is second guessing themselves, the work is compromised. it is an unfortunate inevitability for many creative endeavors but feels like nowadays it's everyone's MO.
"Like what you want, don't let it define you as a human"
this is an awesome piece of advice
Probably what happens when something that was somewhat niche (comic books being mostly for nerds) goes mainstream. That and we also live in this "hype culture". It's weird. When I was a kid in San Diego I remember going to Comic Con and it being nothing like what it seems to be now.

my friend is a karaoke superhero who has been active for two decades, she knew some of the people who started DragonCon, and she has performed there every year. they make her do volunteer work on top of her performance, which IMO is a bit exploitative, particularly as she is a disabled person with severe autism. however, she gets to play (in a side room on the 2nd floor basement area to 10 people) and make a little money selling her CDs and tapes, and free attendance to the convention, so she's happy w the arrangement. Danger Woman if you want to look her up.Probably what happens when something that was somewhat niche (comic books being mostly for nerds) goes mainstream. I like watching trailers of upcoming movies and listening to panels relating to the latter as much as next guy. But I can do that from the comfort of my own home, as the internet has made things convenient for someone like me.Pretty on-point video for me. The fellas are back for some bad movies!
Patton Oswalt? Can he make it through the video without his TDS flaring up?
I was very surprised and delighted by their unannounced special guestRich Evans
Yes, they highly recommend it.Without spoiling, do they recommend watching it? I've seen references to the show on /tv/ but I'm on the fence on even giving it a shot.
Yes, they highly recommend it.
And rightfully so - it's very good!
Rich and Jay talk about The Boys
Haven't watched it yet but I expect high praise, given the quality of the series.

What did they change?
But this comic is older than RL events.Apparently theWeinstein scene was cut back and only includes 1 dude instead of 3(4?) in the comic
