you gota make it official though thats what girls want. at the time you probably had doubts about it else you would have done it.

problem is now your brain idealises it, forgets the bad, reminds you of the good. if youd 100% wanted her back then, youd not have let her go off. if you had committed to her at the time even though you werent sure, youd now be in an unhappy relationship wondering if you made the right choice. best you can do is distance yourself, and only get involved with someone youre 100% into.

oh yeah, i'd stop calling her an asshole and stuff, youre both 50/50 responsible for the situation. being negative about someone and expecting them to suffer is like you drinking poison and expecting the other person to die.

You're right. In my mind I was 100 committed but I won't pretend that it wasn't difficult. I was in a very long relationship before her and yeah, it haunted me. I asked a lot of her and she put up with it but I really did make an honest effort to make her as happy as can be. She is all that I wanted, and she made me want to be the best that I could be.

The name calLing not something I ever did. right now its all just anger and frustration speaking.

And this is the reason why I'm so open to all of this. I know that I put her through a lot,and when I see her going through these weird phases I can't help but emphasize with her. I'm not innocent either, so I give her a break

Dude your "relationship" essentially boils down to you begging for a chance to meet the new guy your girlfriend is probably fucking. Even if there was a chance to fix it, which there isn't, it's not worth fixing.

Walk away and definitively end it yourself. It's for your own sanity when you think back on all of this.

Motherfucker did that dog thing ever sneak up on me. RIP.

As usual, I agree with the group that says be civil, but clean break is best. Don't enable each other. When it turns sour again and you finally get out, you'll look back on the rebound and be livid with yourself for wasting the time.

Sorry about your dog.
However you should rejoice about losing this girl, someone that's only working for your validation without giving anything in return is not worth the effort.

She's taking your heart to the cleaners. Using you for her gain and that's all, man. She found someone else she likes better but knows that you're still around for her to fall back on.

You've spelled it all out to us but can't seem to pick up on it yourself. When you're in love, it's really hard to see that so it makes sense... but listen to GAF here.

She's made it clear she's moved on by ignoring you for weeks, making excuses, letting some guy sleep at her house, and telling you she can't see you often but spending that time with others.

Her heart and mind are with someone else but you keep fighting for her to stay around, essentially giving her false ultimatums that she easily thwarts with her "I'm sorry, I'll change". You keep buying it so she ignores you again, knowing how easy it is to keep you in her pocket while she hangs out with other people. And like other people have said, she doesn't want to be seen as a villain so she takes the coward way out by prolonging this false relationship.

It's going to be hard but, man, you need to get out. You're going to get hurt so much worse and realize how much time you've wasted pining over someone who doesn't respect you.

A) Sounds like she's torn and doesn't know what to do, or

B) That she wants to be with "Bill" but doesn't want to be the one to break up with you (for her own ego / self-pity), and is doing what she can to get you to break up with her, so she can have a "clear conscience" with a healthy does of denial.

Or C) she's an emotional vampire who gets off on stringing side-lovers along.

OP broke up with her several times, gave her a clean break, and only then does she want him back.

That is PSYCHO shit, OP.

Don't Dance.

Run.

Faster.

bitch I'm taking calls.
That is a whole lot of text for what amounts to "I'm attached to someone that doesn't give a really give a shit about me =("

Genuinely sorry for your dog, but you need to wake up in regards to this girl. Stop feeling sorry for yourself, wash your hands of her, and get active. You need to go out with friends and invest in hobbies and activities that will build up your self esteem. Because right now it's shit. I know that because you are writing whole novels about your brief relationship with this girl and allowing yourself to be dragged alongside someone who by all accounts doesn't value your companionship much at all.

tldr;

Block her number, get off social media for a while, and invest in friends and hobbies.

As someone who was experiencing the early stages of your problem (chick texting other ppl and not paying attention, not responding even though her phone is basically glued to her hand) just leave. Its too much drama man.

Leave her, get some exercise in, you'll feel better and you'll eventually find someone else who can appreciate you.

I have the same sentiment as everyone else.

Tell her you don't want to see her anymore, and mean it. Get rid of her on social media so you don't get curious and look at her profiles and reminisce, ignore her phone calls.

Nothing new has come out of the situation, she has been in control the entire time and really doesn't seem to care about you very much.

As soon as you cut her off she will want to see you/talk/call etc... don't give in, the time alone will suck at first you'll gain clarity - hindsight is 20/20.

Goodluck man, It's alot harder said than done but nothing new has happened and it's only made you feel worse every step of the way. There's lots of ladies my friend.

This guy expressed himself way better than me. What he said ^

It will be difficult, but the best thing to do is to get out of it all, don't try to talk to her or anything like that... She made clear that she don't see you as her partner but just something she have from time to time.

In the end all the pain and sadness you will feel thanks to cutting her off won't be nothing compared to how well you will be after some time.

Good God that's a lot of drama. You don't need that; find a woman who knows how to have a respectful relationship.

A few quick things; she has already done stuff with that dude. Also, the relationship is going no where and the point where she stopped talking to you for weeks the first time is when you should have bailed.

Yeah get out of that unhealthy relationship OP. Easier said than done, but i'd recommend ending it. If you can't trust her and are arguing, you're not going to have a healthy relationship with her.

My thought process while reading this
What is wrong with the OP
What is wrong with the OP
What is wrong with the OP
What is wrong with the OP
poor dog :(
What is wrong with the OP
Sounds like you went from being her man to being her side piece
I think its time to walk away and find someone who will make you a priority

Seems not a good idea but can't fault you for at least being curious I guess. You have to wonder what swingin' Bill has been told about you.

Really sorry about your dog man.

OP,

The first red flag is her not letting you meet her friends, and doubly so because they "side with the ex and leave her alone" meaning she has a history with this kind of BS. She's not worth it. Leave, and find someone that will make you happy. I mean, that's really all I can tell you, everyone else is doing the same.

Go buy a gun....and then shoot her.

What the fuck is wrong with you? GTFO with that shit. Telling this kind of thing to an obviously emotional OP, what the hell.

Sorry about your dog, Agentnibs. Sounds like you've been through the wringer.
That being said, I can't imagine this situation will change much regardless of the circumstances.

You owe it to yourself to break things off and clear your head. This anxiety simply isn't worth it and "Susan" seems to have a need to string multiple guys along at once as safety nets... and you clearly haven't been priority #1 on that list for a long while.

I read your story, all of it. I hear a lot of her, her, her. What about you? What do you do for fun? That she doesn't want you to be part of her life is obvious and you need a healthy person in your life to have a healthy relationship. Please don't surround yourself with people like that. You have the obligation to be happy.

First of all, RIP dog.

You are being played like a damn fiddle.
Hope you realize this soon enough instead of when is too late and end up being that guy that keeps posting those 'if she doesn't spend time with you she doesn't love you' posts on facebook.

Alright guys well I just got back so..

First I want to say thank you for all the kind words and encouragement. I've been depressed for a very long time now and often times I feel so alone. the sentiment that you guys present isn't foreign to me, but most of the time I just can't help to flip it and put myself at fault. Despite everything that had happens I would often consider myself crazy for thinking anything was going on, or that I was just blowing things out of proportions. So thank you all for being on my side. I haven't felt like anyone's been on my side for a long time.

Anyway, so I went to the dance. It was a pretty cool place, basically a mansion and there was a ton of people. I ended standing around for about 10 mins because I can't find her. Eventually a random girl comes up to me and asks to dance, so I do and it was fun. I'm terrible bUT whatever. After that dance she finds me, and then "susan" and I dance. it's really fun, but after the song we break away so she can dance with other people. It doesn't bug me because I know that's just how these things work. and besides, she's really good and I'm not so I don't want to hold her back.in the meantime I practice for a while. After, she finds me again and introduces me to this guy, umm let's call him jack. Jack actually seems like a really nice guy, we chat for a while and I practice with him for a bit. And then she introduces me to "bill". He also seems like a nice guy, he's all sweaty from dancing. He reaches out to me and shakes my hand and says it's nice to meet me. He asks how I like it and suggests I dance with his friend because she's good to practice with. after, he runs off to dance with someone. This is the only interaction I have with him.

Susan sticks around for a while and we dance again for one song before she goes to dance with people again. So I'm alone but I end up dancing with about 5 different people and it was a lot of fun. The last one in particular was a very sweet girl from Oklahoma. We were both pretty terrible bUT we had fun.

Eventually I got to sit when jack comes by and sits next to me. We're just watching people dance, so I ask how long he's know susan and bill. He tells me hes only known susan for about a week and bill for about a month. And then I ask if they are together and he says he doesn't know. So I just leave it be for a while and continue to dance. I end up dancing with Oklahoma again before taking a break. At this point I spot bill sitting across the room talking to a girl sitting next to him, and then I see susan come up to him. He gestures for her to sit on his lap, and she does. they're just sitting there talking and I can see him kinda rubbing/tapping her back.it goes on for about 3 minutes before she runs off to dance with someone.

After sometime I'm still just sitting there, jack comes back and sits next to me. We're just sitting when susan comes up to us and says "there's my boys". I mostly ignore her, and then Oklahoma comes up behind her and asks me to dance. So I just bypass her and go. She ends up interrupting us though and tells me their going to leave. I ask why aND she says it's cause they want to beat the rush and Yada yada. She wants to know if I want to have one last dance, Oklahoma is cool with it and so we dance.

During it she's talking to me about just random stuff. I look at her and ask why she invited me. She told me she just wanted me to have a fun time. It wasn't really the answer I was looking for. Anyway we finish and Jack comes up next to us. I can see bill leaning against the wall in front of me. She's wrapping things up and ready to say goodbye. Right as she does though, I reach my hand to her face and try to kiss her. She pushes me away, and tells me no. But I try one more time this time just going for the cheek. She tells me no again. I do this because I wanted to see what she would do. Every time we've kissed it happens this same exact way.

Yes I admit it was awkward but I felt like I needed to do it. I don't know, something came over me and I just needed to know what would happen. jack definitely was surprised, he just kinda stood there. After that, she looks at me grabs my hand and says "I'll talk to you later. Okay?". I look at her in the eye and almost without delay I reply "No, you won't". At this point I turn her away and kinda nudge her off.

I see her walk off with Jack towards Bill, and I go back to my seat. looking as they walk off I see her in an opening, she has her hands to her face and it's clear that she's crying...a lot. Bill comes up to her to see whats wrong, but she pushes him away before she disappears behind a door.

I end up leaving soon after that. I end up seeing bill chatting it up with the lobby people alone, so I assume that she ran off on her own. A situation like that happened on the Sunday when my car got smashed. I ended up saying something that really pushed her and she walked off Crying on her own. it looked exactly the same.

A part of me regrets ruining her night like that, but at the same time this girl has Ibeen destroying me daily for the last 3 months. And seriously what she did right in front of me was uncalled for. it's clear she has 0 respect for me. so yes I made a scene, and that's kinda embarrassing. But I feel like I know now more then ever. I'm done.

Looks like you got all the confirmation you needed. This will be a good break for you, it's too bad you didn't get Oklahoma Girl's information. If you did though, I'd say go for it and start going out to places with her. Seems like the two of you just had a lot of fun.

Perfect exit for that situation. Who knows what she was thinking with this night. Never talk to her again. She was playing you all along, and you stepping up for yourself was a big shock to her.

Yeah but it really wouldn't of mattered, she was just visiting and was going back saturday

Doesn't seem like you have any respect for yourself so how can you expect her to treat you with any? You should have broken that relationship off long ago.

Maybe he didn't before, but he sure does now. I say good job to him, and hopefully this will be the start of things looking up.

I gotta say good for you man. All things considered you ended things face to face, on your own terms. Stood up for yourself without being a dick. I think once you get a little space you'll be proud of yourself one day.

This thread hurts to read. Not a nice situation for you dude. Why would she invite you to a party, only to sit on the lap of some other guy though. Looks like she wanted to make it clear it's over.

Everyone dancing and asking eachother to dance at the party almost seems like a teen movie to me though, pretty funny mental image.

You stayed in longer than I would have, but if I had stayed in that long you played it about the same as I would have.

This is the perfect reply. Now all you have to do is make it a truth. Don't talk to her anymore.
Cut her out of your life. Oklahoma sounds nice for you.

Also I am really sorry about your dog :(

Excellent. Now all you need to do is follow through. Your description of the night clearly suggests you have no issues socialising and meeting new people (including members of the opposite sex), so whilst you might feeled bummed out for a little while about the fact that this toxic 'relationship' is finally over, sounds like you'll be back on your feet and focusing your energy on someone more worthwhile very soon.

A part of me regrets ruining her night like that.

Squash that shit immediately. It's on her, not you. Your only regrets can be allowing things to get to this point, but you certainly can't regret showing yourself some respect and blowing her off once and for all.

If someone won't introduce you to their friends, they're either ashamed of you or two-timing you. You decide.

She does just enough to placate you every time you get mad, and makes no effort to actually change her behavior. You guys are talking past one another. She's not going to stop seeing him, you're not going to stop being upset about it.

Break up with her dude. If she hasn't already it's only a matter of time and opportunity. Considering he lengthy disappearances I'd say she's performing quite the juggling act between you two.

Edit: I'm amazed she invited the two of you out together without an actual plan. Idiot.
