My devs VS your devs. My chip set Vs yours. My stock holder Vs yours. It was fun while it lasted. A bit like bulls fans Vs knicks fans during the playoffs. Mercedes fanboys Vs BMW Vs audi fanboys. Arsenal VS Chelsea. Rivalries made it all a bit more fun, and I'll miss that. Especially on gaming forums.
Xbox fans would have been having a field day on here if Xbox kept everything exclusive.

That's not how games like this work. It's a gaas game. The money is made off MTs. You know…. Like in sea of theives and grounded g obviously being a GP subscriber means you don't buy these games you download them and get wherever MTs you want…. I know I'm guilty of pimping out my SOT and SOD characters and I lost count how much money I spent in elder scrolls online. But I know I spent more than the cost of the base game they sell on other platforms so I'm not sure you have a clue what you are talking about when it comes to Xbox gamers spending habits. There is a reason GPU exists and most core Xbox users have it. Go figure. Those are just Two other gass games that are doing well for MS even before they were ported to PS. Do try to keep up. SoD does well on Xbox and PC hence why a third one is happening. Adding PS ( and maybe even switch 2) users only increases player count and revenue.and let's not forget COD. MS are eating good on every platform. Not sure what point you are really trying to make when most Xbox gamers have a backlog alongside gamepass…… you never considered that part did you? the series already done peaked years ( much like halo) ago so I don't even know what you are on about. Funny though…. I've never had a problem finding a gears lobby online. Maybe you are playing on PC with some dodgy internet settings?

Firstly MS have been focusing on player engagement ever since Xbox one era. Around the same time they stopped selling competitive numbers….. let's not be dishonest now.
Secondly subscription services do remain a firm part of this industry's future as it is in music and movies. So don't count your chickens tok early eh. You were probably one of the people that never saw physical media decking so fast in the games biz too, so….. knock yourself out with your theories mate.
Now… maybe if you asked why they dont talk about how much money they make from MTs that would be a different and more interesting question and probably a more productive one to ask. But saying they started to only post engagement when GPU came out is pure revisionist history.

It's a descent enough co op fun game with friends. I hope they get this one over the finish line. But given the 'state of' the Industry who knows. I hope they are gonna be ok. MS already done sacked 20k people from Xbox how much deeper do they want to cut?

It wouldn't matter where he's playing and the devs have clearly stated they needed to do this to avoid long wait times. It needs a multiplatform population to be a mildly successful GaaS game I would say.
