Man now I want to rewatch Iron Eagles
And where do you hear this if I may please ask? Because our pilots have hundreds of hours of training and flight time under their belts. We even have pilots with thousands of recorded flight hours which is more than some countries may have period. I know the internets favorite past time is to bash on America but when you start bashing our military might, thats just crazy.
Guys..don't be naive.
They're swallowing countries whole. They'll get the aviation related facilities soon enough and death threat people to teach their fighters how to fly (or force pilots to do their own dirty work)
Let's keep underestimating them.
From what I hear, American fighter pilots aren't skilled beyond anyone else in the world. It's that they are riding multi-million dollar machines. If those machines fuck up they are going to look completely ridiculous

Hot Shots
That's from Hot Shots. Which you should watch right away because it's hilarious.
LOLISIS today talked to us about something that's foremost in all of our minds this holiday season: presence.
Now, of course, the big item this year is air superiority. Fortunately, due to foreign allocation, many extremists and non-infidels are going to be very disappointed when they look up from under the camouflage tarp this year.
...ISIS, however, will not be disappointed, for you see... ISIS has 3 MiGs.
So, what does ISIS do first? Does ISIS wiggle the stick around a bit with the engines turned off making whoosh-boom-boosh noises; does ISIS take notes from authentic first-person flight-sim gameplay on Youtube while sitting in the cockpit, does ISIS have dozens upon dozens of combat-ready non-pilots take turns striking a pose for selfies on the wing-tops?
The answer is, of course, yes; because, ISIS has 3 MiGs.
ISIS has one in the back of the van with candy,
one under the bed at night
and one under immense geological heat and pressure for crystalline enhancement. Why? Because ISIS has 3 MiGs.
...now, ISIS realizes that while they have 3 MiGs, some of you out there may actually have a MiG of your own, and be thoroughly enjoying your stolen property too. But, imagine how ISIS must feel, with 3 MiGs; I think you'll find that ISIS is enjoying it three times as much.
Now, some of you may be thinking: it's okay, I didn't really want a MiG anyway, and that's true; it is okay. Because, you're getting shot by one anyway; because ISIS, operationally, has 3 MiGs.
ISIS put it like this: imagine you have one cake; and, ISIS has three cakes. This is like that, except you have no cakes; and, ISIS has 3 MiGs. Also, ISIS steals cakes.
One extremist only has two nipples, but ISIS has 3 MiGs.
...is it worth it to have 3 MiGs, when ISIS has its forces under technologically-advanced allied attack? Well, I submit to you that, in time, allies will inevitably disband and turn into rivals amongst themselves; whereas, you will never have 3 MiGs.
Now, you may be trying to cover for your lack of MiGs by buying an F-35; you may even say that flying the F-35 is just as much fun as flying a MiG. This is obviously the talk of somebody who does not have 3 MiGs.
Figure 1.
This graph illustrates how many MiGs ISIS has, versus how many MiGs you have. As you can see, your column has 0 MiGs; whereas, ISIS has 3 MiGs.
And so, ISIS left us with these simple words to consider this holiday season:
ISIS has 3 MiGs.
Nope.
There's no way a militia can learn how to fly these things like that. The amount of training and flight hours needed to be even a little bit competent is beyond what these guys have right now.
Its worrying that they have access to such hardware, but i don't believe for one moment they are capable of piolting jets.
Doesn't matter, during the Iraq War Saddam has 180 jets, most of which were more modern than these mig 21s and they still go wrecked. How do you know that some of the ISIS members weren't apart of another nations airforce at some point in their lives?
It is not that hard to find: The Syrian and Iraqi army. They tend to leave behind everything when they're fleeing and/or dead.More important to find out who their suppliers are though.
No. If they ever fly these things they will be shot down by something they never even see.
So it will be like every real dog fight in the last 30 years.No. If they ever fly these things they will be shot down by something they never even see.
WHat if instead of a city, they use it to kamikaze on one of the airports the coalition is using? Suddenly you have 5-6 destroyed F-16s, a bit of ground crew dead? It would have a huge impact on Western support of the war because suddenly you couldn't present it as a 'safe' war.The only way for ISIS to use these would be to kamikaze them into a city. And the only target within range of the MiG 21 is Israel. Which happens to have one of the best airforces in the world. And the best anti-aircraft protection. At most they'll shoot a couple of videos with them and then hide them under a carpet somewhere.
Folks are missing the point, I'm not worried about air to air dogfights, I'm worried about them strapping these things with a ton of munitions and kamikazi'ing into populated areas.

Yeah, THIS is the thing I am worried about right here

But do they have any fucking idea how to fly them.

Let Europe and middle east worry about that
Americans are not innately better pilots than anyone else, however US pilots get more real flight hours than most other military pilots, and many of them have actual combat experience. The average US pilot would likely be better than the average British or Chinese pilot, simply because America has used its air force several times in the last two decades against real foes.
Of course, the actual differences in pilot dogfighting skills are going to be relatively unimportant compared to the advantages they get from having not only better aircraft, but also a series of world class supporting units, and existing inside the broader structure that is the US military. Dog fights do sometimes happen even in modern times, but large scale combat doesn't happen in isolation and it's almost never a fair fight between two pilots on even footings.
Mufaq Salti in Jordan? The one where they're trying to keep their presence secret from the local population. The distance they would have to fly from Syria to any coalition base is such that they would be shot down long before they reach the target, in fact the US has eyes on Syria and Iraq at all times, there's always planes in the air. The only feasible targets of success are close Syrian population centers away from Assad air defenses.
So the plane just crashes into a city on the way there. It would still prove effective. It would prove more realistic than using them to attack Israel considering Jordan is a bit closer.Good luck trying to get close to a military airport. Unless the guys there are serious idiots.
Yes, you'd only have a flame wreckage falling. Still more realistic than them reaching the more heavily protected Israel. So I'll re-iterate, it would seem smarter to attack an air base in Jordan than to try and hit Israel.Any competent air defense in the area will prevent them from being able to use them in that manner. They will sit these in a bunker somewhere until this phase is over and they are trying for 'statehood'.
The lack of training for their potential pilots, the lack of modern equipment to field, and the lack of numbers. No better story to cover, news?
CBS News' George Baghdadi reports Information Minister Omran Zoubi said late Tuesday that Syrian military aircraft had shot down two of three fighter jets allegedly stolen by ISIS as it rampaged across northern Syria seizing army and air bases in the Aleppo region.
