I'm pretty sure this isn't the first time I heard that the guys from Gamexplain went on vacation. (Because of a Nintendo Direct.)

I definitely heard this once before.

I know it doesn't mean anything but Andre and Derek from GameXplain just happen to be "on vacation" at this time.

HOLY SHIT!

They only go when Nintendo days to go. THAT MEANS ITS FINALLY FUCKING TIME!!!!

Also some real talk: Is anyone upset at Nintendo's mobile games? Not that they exist (tho that is worrying too considering what happened to some devs) but the fact that you can't play them on a actual Nintendo system? I do hope that Miyamoto was lying and they will come to NX because its weird being forced to miss a Mario, AC, FE, plus more games. When I bought both (soon one finally!) Nintendo system I always knew I could play all their games and now I can't since I have no mibile devices outside of severily outdated iPad 1/iPod Touch 4 which won't work with Miiomo so the the other games are likely no goes. Ican barely afford an NX as it is so a new iPod Touch is ain't happening.

Super Mario Run looks really cool. Atleast 24 levels and they have the purple coins to collect. And I'll never play it because a Nintendo game may never release on a Nintendo system unless Miyamoto was lying, which is possible.

Just really confusing why they won't let the people who actually have Nintendo systems not buy them. Please come to NX.

Mathematics is not a Science.

Edit: Statistics is probably the word you are looking for, "I'm no statistician but..."
It was a terrible joke. I am however deeply offended that you think I'm dumb enough not to know that.
Because a press event requires early notice, and next week is more or less ruled out due to TGS. This makes the last week of the month the only time a reveal is really likely unless they only do a direct and don't allow press hands-on until some time later.

This I agree with, I forgot about TGS.

It's kind of a watered down experience, I don't think you're missing much if you've played the Mario games on Nintendo hardware. It's coming to Android eventually anyway isn't it?

I am pretty confident that NX will be reveal within September. All major conferences from other companies had ended (except Sony' Asian conference on 9/13) and TGS is coming right up. Now, the only thing prevents Nintendo from announcing the NX is Nintendo themselves.

Or unless press already got notice and can't talk about it. Possible, right? Keeping my Nintendream alive here ;)

Yeah, happy all that is out of the way.
There's no play like home
There's no play like home
There's no play like home

3DS stuff out the way last week. Super Mario Run announced this week. NX reveal announced next week. And NX event/direct the following week. I'm hoping it plays out like this.

I hope it's building week after week.

You know what, I think I've just reached acceptance.

The PS4 Pro is coming out in November.
The iPhone 7 is releasing NEXT WEEK.

Nintendo doesn't need 6 months to hype up the NX.

I've been thinking, if the NX is not officially revealed before TGS (which seems likely now) what are the chances that Nintendo will allow 3rd parties to at least announce their NX multiplats at TGS? Would an official announcement of the reveal before TGS, maybe in pdf form, make that any more likely?

I'm guessing exclusives would be saved for the reveal event itself regardless of when it is.

It's not even the same circumstances...Plus too many people are already saying September.

Revisions of existing lines/products aren't really the same as a new console with exclusive games.

The thing is, I think ,we've known of the existence of PS4 Pro for 7 months. Apple does this every year.
NX was casually mentioned a year and a half ago with almost zero official mention since then.

The products that you mention are iterations from existing products. Not the same thing.

Yep and that too

Most people upgrade their phones yearly or at least every other year.
PS4 Pro is an all around weirdly promoted product that's not really a new system in the same way PS3->4 was. Not really the same

Just played my 3DS for the first time in months, and the circle pad falls off again.
I'm really hoping that they don't come back - but my hopes aren't high.

The best comparison here would be Nintendo doesn't need 6 months to hype Super Mario Run. I don't think you can draw conclusions about the NX with comparisons to Apple.

I've heard Nintendo is having an emergency Direct.

They're announcing that even the NX will have a 4K Blu Ray drive.

I'd give me left nut to see Nintendo develop games in 4K.

Build up a hypothesis and do an experiment on Mathematics using the Scientific Method.

Or, go and ask a few University Professors that are involved with Maths and/or Science about whether Mathematics is a Science.

Or, look it up on Google as a last resort.

You know actually it could be part of the platform. One part of the platform is mobile and integrates mobile games into the (real) account system so that information can be used in the console portion of the platform which is conveniently streamlined for such.

Synergy between mobile and console games where the mobile games make safe money AND provide potential compatibility via shared account system and perks/Ninten-dough/whatever for the console games.

Compatibility, natural promotion, ecosystem. I see this happening. Some mobile games could even be vehicles to drive consumers together in order to emphasize the benefits of a portable console with the NXs power.

NX will be a horizontal platform as opposed to the verticality of PS4/XB1.

Note: the above is just the blather of an exhausted fan waiting for the end of the world.
My god, Nintendo has made you lose your mind. Nintendo, announce the NX reveal date for this poor soul :p.

This NX will likely rarely hit 1080p, but I think it would be interesting to see Nintendo release a system that can run their games in 4k. If 4k takes off they would probably need to have some 4k content unless they want to be left behind like with Wii's later days and doing something like the Neo but with NX could work, maybe in 2-3 years from now.

It's in production allegedly. Unless Nintendo wants some Foxconn employee leaking the form factor, shape, and potentially the gimmick, they need to reveal it soon. There's a reason Apple launches stuff so soon after a presentation.

I love the feel of the circle pad. Its my favorite analog stick.

But after 300 hours of Smash 3DS it fell off.

And then the R button just completely stopped working.

And the hinge started to break.

Once I had 500 hours down I had to get a cheap 2DS since I couldn't afford a new 3DS. I love the XL screens and 3D too.

And the 2DS Circle Pad now feels kinda rough after 600 hours...

Overall the 3DS's have very poor build quality. Which is a shame considering its my perfect system otherwise. When the time comes to replace the 2DS I'll probably quit Smash, and by that time there should hopefully be a Smash 5 with new characters so I'd quit anywayz for new characters.

One good thing about NX is that if your circle pad does break, you ONLY have to replace the controller, same with the R button! It'll atleast be cheaper!

PS: if your circle pad breaks, try playing with it off, its surpisingly comfortable! Unless it can break in multiple ways. Not sure. But I did enjoy playing with it broke and would still do it if my R button didn't die and the entire hinge wasn't coming apart.

PPS: Always open the hinge from the middle. Thats what google said atleast to stop it from breaking overtime.

Edit: But it is cool to get to try the crazy 2DS form factor. 3DS XL is still the most comfortable system ever tho.

Would not be surprised if the first or second iteration of NX supports 4k Netflix and video streaming. I believe Parker supports 4k/60 output (not sure about X1). However, I don't think you'll see 4k games from Nintendo until you truly see it from Sony and Microsoft, which seems to either be Scorpio and PS5 or PS5 and Scorpio 2. So I'd say 2020-2022.

It's like someone said a couple pages back. Look at the facts: original iPhone was revealed early January 2007, came out June 29, 2007: about 6 months. Original PS4 was revealed 6 months or so before launch. iPhone 2007 and PS4 were totally original platforms with new OS, softwares, etc. As is NX.

That place is where secrets go to die. And people... but that's a separate issue (that I'm guessing has gotten better?)

The Xbox One was also revealed 6 months prior to launch.

The reveal will be before the end of 2016.

Just... maybe not in September.

I'm feeling like early October would be a good time to unveil their hardware plans. Seeing as how November is tied up with NES Mini and Pokemon S&M and December is Super Mario Run.

But October is Paper Mario Month! Gotta make that final marketing push /s

Honestly I could see early October, but September would be best. We're still only 8 out of 30 days into the month. Anything can happen.

And probably will. Nintendo could even spread out the unveiling through several events throughout the remainder of the year.

I'm so ready for NX and so over GRAPHICS 4K TERAFLOPS HDR whatever. Just give me some games, Nintendo, that don't look like the same shit I've played a dozen times before.
