So there's apparently another Pokemon info dump on the 14th...I'm really starting to think Pre-TGS is off the table, between that and the fact that Nintendo will want some space around the Super Mario Run reveal.

so we can tell that the Eurogamer report about a september reveal was wrong

TGS is exactly in one week right?

It's not impossible we get the info before that. But yes i do believe that it is highly unlikely.

Why would they want space? Keeping them as close as possible is the best way to get momentum going. If Nintendo thinks that they need space, they haven't learned anything.

What's to stop a post-TGS September reveal?

He's either one of the people desperately hoping to debunk the rumors or parodying those people, so don't worry about it.

Am I seriously meant to believe that Miyamoto came to the states just to announce a mobile game, though? I don't buy it. NX Direct is happening.

The 14th is a Wednesday though. Atleast we know that day is off the table, but doesn't Nintendo usually make announcements on Tuesday?

TGS doesn't start until the 15th. I only thought they could announce the NX reveal date prior to TGS.

Yeah I agree with Malo here, momentum is always good for keeping hype and mindshare with news.

I still think with the first Direct in months happening on Sept 1st signified good things for this month and the NX.

Guys, forget the Pokémon Company with their marketing of Pokémon Sun & Moon.

What about Oktoberfest? Shibata has to spend September and October celebrating with the Germans.

To support your theory, take a look at this Twitter thread: https://mobile.twitter.com/trintran/status/772665702037659648

Bill Trinen implies he's out of the office this whole week. If Miyamoto's visit was solely for the mobile game, why is Bill out the whole week? I'd think he'd fly back soon after the press for Apple event otherwise.

Guys Guys we live in a world where a mobile Mario game completely left Sony's Conference in the dust. A 45 min conference ended up in complete silence while a 5 min demo was filled with excitement. Now let that sink in.....

I truly hope they use this momentum to their advantage.

Miyamoto and Bill are probably getting interviewed by Youtubers about Super Mario Run and showing off the Pokémon Go Plus accessory since it releases in September 16th.

lol, this will be interesting.

But what would not being at HQ have to do with NX? It's not like there's going to be a secret press conference this week. I also have to assume that the Directs are filmed at NOA rather than their Redwood City office. I think it's most likely he's taking a vacation, visiting the Redwood City office to talk about marketing plans (potentially regarding NX and how they'll be handling things or maybe just the Wii U/3DS Q4 2016/Q1 2017 stuff), or going back to Japan with Miyamoto to have some meeting there. EDIT: Or just doing Super Mario Run interviews all week.

to be fair... the sony conference was purely about a new hardware without any software announcements.

people love games not machines. they should have packed in one or two game related announcements.

just new footage from E3 games isnt going to cut it.

That's a good point though, would they have Miyamoto really go all the way to the States just to announce ONE mobile game?

Somehow MuchoMalo saying that it's happening is more exciting to me than the WSJ analyst predictions.

Wouldn't surprise me.

Pokémon's going to be having updates every week or two between now and launch. If they're waiting for a Pokémon-free zone (although why would they?) they're going to have to wait until December.

That mobile game? Oh, heck yes, it's practically end/beginning-of-era-defining. My point is, if he truly was just here for that one game, I feel like he (and by extension, Bill) would've left by now.

Fuck yes. Always had a dream "I wish I could play these PS4 exclusives with PC IQ". Not quite there but that's close enough. Day one.

Let's say, if Miyamoto is staying in the US for 1 week and that somehow it was related to unveiling NX. It sounds as though he'll be explaining how the NX works and be the one getting interviewed about NX up to the end of the week.

Does that sound plausible?

Are Time Magazine going to end up leaking NX like they did leaking Star Fox?

Not expecting anything this week. Next week, though...

Man I hope they announce this SUPER soon already. I'm lurking in this topic basically every day now, lmao.

And the tweet says he was challenged to play Super Mario Run one-handed.

I love Miyamoto's expression.

So true :)

It certainly sounds plausible. I think that If NX reveal is really happening the coming week, he will probably reveal his latest project, like Pikmin 4, instead of introducing the hardware. The NX's concept should leave to people like Reggie or Bill.

I re-convince myself everyday that something will be said tomorrow.

I think this RIGHT NOW. I have a problem

Or he's doing the interview rounds for Super Mario Run.

For 1 week? apparently he'd be doing interviews nationally including visiting Youtuber's homes to show off Super Mario Run.

I'm not doubting, I'm trying to see what he'd do for a whole week that didn't involve NX.

I can imagine there were some hurried meetings at Nintendo after the Playstation Meeting, working out how best to take advantage of this situation.

I was pretty underwhelmed by the PS4 Pro, and Scorpio is a year away.

Now is your chance to reel me in, Nintendo.

I think it was disappointed. Gameplay looked the same. Price to high. Console looks like a ps3 bbq. Pro is a bad name. Not the games we wanted. Same framerate?
Psvr one game?

- "That PS4 Pro looked like a layer-cake"
- "No, it looked like a sandwich"
- "Let's just give Sony some time to recuperate, we can't reveal the NX when we need our last console-seller to hit it big, Paper Mario: Color Splash."

I'm losing sleep over the NX. Lol

It would be nice to get an announcement so I can get back to my normal life.

The complete opposite for me. When I can't sleep because of stress from life, I think about NX. Imagine myself playing Zelda NX on it is better than taking sleeping pill. lol

I'm really surprised by the way it looked. I was impressed with the original PS4 design. If you put it next to the Slim and Pro and I didn't know anything about Playstation, I'd guess the original was the revision.

Same here. It's like Sony lost their magic touch they had around the time the PS4 was revealed up to that crazy E3 where TLG/FF7R/ShenMue3 was revealed.

While Nintendo seems to be making all the right moves lately.

After the utter dissapointment of PS4Pro with its poor man's 4K and lack of UHD I need something new

Please Nintendo, announce NX already!

Eh I thought Sony's E3 this year was even better than 2015. Mostly because I don't feel strongly about either FF or Shenmue. Plus TLG was just them confirming that they didn't cancel a previously announced game. Hooray.

Spiderman by Insomniac though? Damn.

Sad thread

Turn that frown upside down.

I need to rethink this.

e3 this year was great. it was essentially trailer after trailer and fun announcements like resident evil vii, david cage's new beautiful disaster, and spider-man. i think the slow parts were the crash 'announcement' (why bother?) and naked norman reedus in: not actually a game right now.

plus the old stuff they had looked pretty good. there was no downtime. it was almost like a direct, except they had a live audience and an orchestra.
