McCain just right there declared that the missile defense program in Poland/Czechoslovakia is targeted at Russia.

We must spend the Russians out of existence! We can't afford Medicare or Medicaid! People need to buy their own health insurance!

Wow Rudy is smart; this time around the US will force Russia AND China to spend so much money on defense they'll go broke!

The United States already spends more on its military than the rest of the planet. We need to triple that amount!

They're not people. They're sheep.

wow what a softball gift question to ron paul

i like it

PS. is anyone counting how many times "ronald reagan" has been mentioned

Interesting thing about all the Reagan quotes is that Ron Paul is the only candidate up there that Reagan would even consider voting for.

Rudy: "Iran smelled the musk of Reagan and freed the hostages. They will smell my musk and stop nuclear weapon development when I am elected"

There's a difference between spending billions expanding the military in terms of the number of troops and spending billions buying F-22 Raptors.

One is smart...the other is wasteful.

This is the first one I watched. I didn't realize how much of it was going to be inside baseball.

Like that McCain comment about Putin and the KGB. He was referring to when Bush said he looked into Putin's eyes and saw his soul. How many people are going to get that?

Well if you are a mainstream Republican voter you may have liked that but for anybody else that was a waste. Worst rep debate so far.

I thought Rudy and Mccain won. Romney was alright. Nobody else mattered and Thompson might as well have not have showed up.

I only saw about 15 minutes of it. You think it was worse than the first Fox debate? Are you talking about the presentation? Questions asked? All the above?

He doesn't care. He's just mining that Russia evil America good meme and to be honest that's all that matters to that crowd.

every time i watch one of these debates i slowly become more and more convinced that democracy, or at least our form of it, is a complete and utter failure

After the initial question about who was the real conservative there was no real push to define differences in the candidates and that was even from the candidates themselves. There seemed to be a real concerted effort to move Hillary and the Dems to the forefront which might be a smart strategy but makes for a very boring pep rally speaking to the choir environment. The first fox debate was better if you want contrast and actual debate. This one was better if you want a united message from the republicans. The headline of this debate is "Hillary is bad"

Does anyone know if they're going to show a repeat of this trainwreck tonight?

Really not worth it, worst debate ever:

"Hillary Hillary Hillary we are afraid of Hillary, we need to force the Russians (and Chinese while we're at it) to outspend themselves, everyone has to pay for everything, Reagan don't forget Reagan, and oh yeah we're big and mean and we can beat people with sticks if we have to."

Oh, I realize they're also hitting popular points. But the whole "look into his eyes" phrasing was definitely a specific reference. Same thing with Giuliani saying he hates to mention cell phones, which nobody seemed to pick up on live.

Also, it's striking how shoddy the performances were, from a public speaking perspective. Romney seems pretty smooth, but there was a lot of stumbling and mumbling.

Which is weird, because of how often they used obviously prefabricated bits. If you're going to memorize your answers beforehand, regardless of the question, you should be able to recite it well, at least.

Worst questions and answers, and really at this point they better just choose their fucking candidate already and get the campaign going, this is getting pointless. We know where everyone stands (which is pretty much everyone in the same boot, and a bit in the Democrats' boots as well).

In 2008, Americans will chose: Big Mac or Whopper?

I have a feeling Ron Paul is going to start getting very aggressive in the upcoming debates. I think he is waiting till we get closer to the primaries first... but I sense he is going to go head on with Rudy, Romney, and Thompson over our foreign policy.

At least that would be smart on his part... and Ron Paul is a very smart man so...

They definitely speak through a particular filter of insider political tidbits most likely just because its the world they inhabit with their friends and the press but they know regular people don't follow that shit. I actually didn't catch the cell phone reference myself until you repeated it. Romney is smooth but oddly enough I still think that works against him with the Republican base. It makes him seem almost like a Democratic I think to them. Too slick. :D

Thompson on the other hand is too lethargic and is at the other end. Rudy and Mccain imo fit the general republican audience they are going for. They hit their sound bites and catch phrases but still seem fairly unrehearsed.

Why would the morale of our military go down if Hillary Clinton became president? According to Huckabee, this is a very real possibility.

Someone post the final results of the Fox Poll please. I can't watch Fox News tonight...

So far:

Paul: 38%
Huckabee: 21%
Juliani: 12%
Romney: 10%
Thompson: 10%
McCain: 6%

Hannity is furious and claims that "they are stacking the vote" in Ron Paul's favor. What's even better is that the reporter moderating a ~20 person focus group asked if anyone thought Ron Paul won the debate, and when no one did, he acts as though that completely invalidated the poll :lol

In all fairness though, I'm a liberal and I deliberately voted for Paul just to see Hannity's reaction.

I can't find these polls on the foxnews site. Granted, I can only stay on that site roughly 2 minutes without my gag-reflex taking over and I have to involuntarily close the window, but that should be plenty of time to find the fucking polls.

Oh they stopped putting them on the website after Ron Paul won the first one way back. Doesn't fit their spin.
