that was a good ass game!

I enjoy this one more than 2R, mostly because the pacing is just so much better. The game never outstays its welcome. It's a perfect length. I think once you hit the sewers in 2 that everything starts declining. Never the case with 3. It just goes.

Why am I not surprised, Chuck.

Finished this yesterday for the first time.
Capcom fumbled with both remakes regarding which features made them stand out back in the day. In RE2 it was the A/B playthrough system, in RE3 it was both Nemesis as well as all the little details that added to replayability.
Despite the cut content and changes REmake2 still managed to stay closer to the original, REmake3 feels more like a DLC to REmake2 than a remake of OG 3.

It baffles me that every female character has to be rewritten into some badass. At least it would be cool if that happened in a believable way, but here it barely ever makes sense. Jill gets constantly tossed around, falls from high places, even a rocket detonates inches away from her and actually helps her escape instead of harming her. How much plot armor can you give a character?
The scene when Nemesis shows up on the subway perfectly demonstrates how stupid the writing is. The door opens, you can see Nemesis standing there menacingly inside a burning waggon and what does Jill do? She yells "How is this fucker not dead yet?!" and starts running towards Nemesis before getting held back my Mikhail.
Despite giving the audience the message that Nemesis clearly is NOT a threat, what was the idea from Jill here if she wasnt held back? Why go close? To punch Nemi, or to angrily yell into his face like a Karen?

I am actually shocked that people paid full price and Capcom didn't even bother to put 'The Mercenaries" into this. What a cashgrab.

That train scene was cool. If it was Leon/Chris you probably would not have even blinked. RE3R is more replayable than original because it lacks all the lame backtracking and endless running around an invincible nuisance. The amazing presentation, focused campaign, and unlockable weapons as well as mods make the remake a much better experience than the bland ass original.

P.S. Mercenaries mode gets old real fast.

I actually enjoyed 3 remake more than the original. I absolutely bloody love Jill but I don't think I ever played the original more than twice.

I'd say the same no matter the character.

Nemesis was also not invincible in the OG, no idea why you claim that. Here its only a very tiny fraction when he ever shows up in Remake as an (unprepictable) threat and even then he goes down with a single grenade on hardcore.
You know whats bland? Throwing out locations and then expanding the game with sewers which look exactly like the ones from RE2Remake. Then throwing in that location some new enemies while simultaneously giving you a new weapon that 1-shots them (and even telling you their weakness in the files). You know whats also bland? Changing the final dungeon into NEST-2.
And why is backtracking suddenly a bad thing? Does backtracking make Hollow Knight a bad game? Does backtracking make Silent Hill bad? Even your beloved remake has backtracking. The section when Jill wakes up in the hospital and you can finally open all the locks is nothing other than backtracking. I guess its only bad when a game you don't like does it.

Nemesis cannot be removed from RE3 experience until the final boss battle and stalks Jill across areas even if ammo is expended to temporarily down him. Grenade is optional deterrent in the Remake as there are other ways to deal with Nemesis. I wish RE2R's sewers weren't the size of a mansion and could be as seamlessly passed through as RE3R's as it would make RE2R a better game. NEST-2 is barely anything like RE2R's NEST and has a much better layout with more distinct areas than the Dead Factory in RE3.

Hollow Knight is a mediocre game and the backtracking was one of the reasons I dropped it. Good Silent Hill games change areas that are returned to. When Jill wakes up in the hospital the enemy spawns are different, a new area is accessible, and she can opt to skip the whole hospital and head directly underground after passing four doors meters away away from one another. The key to making backtracking acceptable is giving access to new areas or altering the experience by changing the enemies faced or giving enemies a drop that is worth farming for. The original RE3 barely does any of that and feels like going through the motions as a result.

Wow! What a bunch of nonsense! In my opinion.
