Resident Evil 4 Remake will Feature In-Game Purchases

According to the Entertainment Software Rating Board, or ESRB, the title will have in-game purchases, particularly on PS4, PS5, and Xbox Series consoles. No further details are given as to what exactly these purchases will be. However, seeing as RE3 Remake also came with a similar feature, which incidentally also has multiplayer in the guise of Resident Evil Resistance, it could mean RE4 will get multiplayer as well. However, this hasn't been confirmed, so it's best to take the information with a grain of salt.

I'm still gonna get this game who am I kidding but this news is

Merc chars, specialized Albert Wesker whatever type Guns, a Las Plagas Keychain for the rifle, three new costume sets for Ashley, Ada, and Leon, package to instantly acquire all the in game unlockables, maybe an OST swap patch with the OG music or something.

Resident Evil 2, 3 and Village all have the same tag. Not something to get worried about unless you had a problem with it in those games.

Edit: also not worth thinking it's multiplayer since none of those games had it either. If you want to point to the extra game that came with purchase: Re:verse is a separate entry from Village but Resistance seems to not have it's own page. RE2 had nothing of the sort though.

Best DLC I bought in my life was the original RE2 soundtrack swap to use in RE2 Remake. No idea why they didn't do the same with RE3.

The out of context fact is disappointing, but when you look at what RE games have had for years it's going to be along the lines of a paid shortcut to unlock content. I'm sure people out there buy it, otherwise they wouldn't offer it.

Having the Merchant's voice go "Heh heh... thank you!" when you buy some MTX would be some masterful trolling.
It's actually sad that every time see it typed out in a forum, or even hear it in game, the first thing I think is the librarian from Symphony of the Night way back in 97.

I bought the pack that include all costumes and classic OST, not something i can always says about Capcom but in this case yes it was very worth for the price.

All the recent RE engine games have had in-game purchases to unlock all the things you can also get by beating the game on various difficulties.

This is not surprising at all.

If its stuff like skins and the like, I'm good with that. All I want is for them to make this game truly amazing and I'll be able to live with any DLC bullshit.

couldn't you buy skins for RE2 remake? I got like one of those deals that came with the dlc.

Yes, RE2, RE3 had skins and 'keys' which unlock things you can normally get by beating the game on higher difficulties (unlimited ammo guns etc).

Every RE ever since 7 had those microtransactions. It sucks, but it seems really an after thought, and the game's balance isn't affected.

Having said that, I'll never be ok with microtransactions, and I hope people always point out and piss on it, until publishers get sick of it and take them out.

Should have been included in the game, not nick and dimed out of us. Unless its an actual expansion, like the games of old does, I'll never buy microtransactions.
