I've got a question for the OP....where has the 2 player-split screen co-op info been released from? I've searched high and low for any concrete information on offline multiplayer options for R2 and all I've come across is the feature set mentioning online/offline co-op modes (no specifics beyond that) from early info on the game. someone point me to this?

are you just predicting this based on R1?

and for jstevenson - are you guys going to allow any split screen options in the beta coming up/happening right now? any info coming up on split screen options of any sort (i.e. guest log-on for online co-op or online competitive)?

and god does the CE look awesome. what a steal for $80

I got mine too, but I've put the money away because I'm trying to organise building a new house AND a wedding.

So I have to be a little more selective of my games than I use to be. But November especially is nothing but golden titles that require day one purchases.

Luckily I work two jobs which helps me maintain my gaming lifestyle...within reason.

News Flash: Resistance 2 multiplayer demo this October!

If, like us, you're eagerly awaiting the launch of Resistance 2 for PLAYSTATION®3 this November, you'll no doubt be pleased to hear that an opportunity to play the game before launch is coming in October.

Sony Computer Entertainment Europe (SCEE) has just announced a competitive online multiplayer event running in October, powered by PLAYSTATION®Network. The event will allow PS3 owners the opportunity to be the first to explore new levels, modes and weapons – as well as provide Insomniac Games, the developer of Resistance 2, and SCEE with feedback on the game.

No further details are available as yet, but we'll bring you more info as soon as we have it. In the meantime, here's a preview of the multiplayer mode

just re-read the GI article and you're right:

An independent story and campaign is being prepared for two-player offline co-op, or up to eight players over PlayStation Network.

hmmmf, i thought they were talking this up about being in squads of 4 for the cooperative campaign...will this be handled by bots as teammates? or will this be done by two players offline being included with the PSN players? i wonder...jstevenson?

On everything. I really loved R1, but I played mostly SP. The story and the overall theme was great, and it seems that Insomniac is only making it bigger and bigger with the same underlying storyline. Also, what I've seen from R2 looks like R1x10, so that's a good thing to me.

Same here! I loved playing through the single player in R1, but since I had gotten a PS3 in June of 07', my ass got constantly owned at multiplayer. Multiplayer is a lot of fun, but I guess I had a sort of "whatever" attitude when it came to my progress in multi. But I hope to change that with R2. Being there from day one and at least get my kill/death ratio at a respectable level (way more kills than deaths please...) The single player looks to be pretty epic, and I'm looking forward to that

The black weapon thingie that sits on the right, that's Bullseye, correct? You should be able to equip Chimera with it instead of the weapon he's holding on the picture?

That is actually the HVAP Wraith. Its just there to show you the exclusive skin you get. The Bullseye (Mark III this time) is the gun the Chimera Hybrid is holding. At least thats what they carried in the first game. Its kinda hard to see due to the angle its being held at.

I fucked up on the beta. Yesterday something pushed me to check an email account I normally don't use and there it was! 2 reminders at that! There wasn't any "Congratulaions, you're in!" mail thou. Anyway, I never dreamed I'll get in any beta, but now I don't know what to do. I don't know how I got into the beta. I bought Qore for that, but that starts off later. They say to log in using psn account, but I don't know which. Also it takes a week to get into private forum? The beta will be over by then.

I don't even now how I download the beta.

Shit, I'm so confused and excited now.

I must take it slow and try to check psn account e-mails.

I've never in my life bought any book that "extended" the lore of a franchise - no Star Wars, Star Trek, or Halo books, or any others.

...but I'm seriously kinda excited that a Resistance novel is coming out. The actual game itself I found to be "good not great," but the world was probably the most compelling I've experienced in a game in a long, long time. It's a world I want to know much more about. Whoever was responsible for laying that lore foundation did a great, great job.

Tried that, nothing. Always the language selection boards pop up.

Got two mails, both with Event Notifications, but no code.

Edit: In that mail it is said that they need a week to let into private forum. It's the first time I logged there with that account so maybe ithat's why.

Why don't you PM Jstevenson and work out the details? He can probably check some internal databases and see what the info is. But yeah, you may want to check your spam folder in case it thought the email was spam.

Spam folder is empty. Don't know if it cleaned itself by end of the month or if nothing was there.

The first email that just says you're a Beta tester is sent via the same address as the ones telling you about the event nights. The other email that gives you your code is sent by a separate address, a news@playstation address (that's not exact).

Cant you just email the beta address and ask them to send the code again? Also it took about two days before I had access to the private forums. If they do give you access, you can just ask the Beta coordinator there as well.

This is my most anticipated game of this year. I still maintain that RFOM multi was the most fun this gen thus far. ESp with the early GAF crew and the wedge. I feel bad that I stopped playing regularly with the crew. =(

But onto bigger and better and all that. Cannot wait for the squad based objectives in 60p multi!
