Hey, my mate wants to give End of Eternity a try, but I can't find the demo on the Japanese store, has it been taken off? If not where is it? If it's gone has anyone downloaded it and would be willing to lend me their Japanese account for a few minutes so I can grab it?

:lol

Did a danger zone of some big mech tank thing. I ran by him as Vashyron and was lucky to get full scratch damage on him. He then attacked with missles at Vashyron and the explosion was close enough to kill him. Woo!

Anyway got one. Another question. I see people level all three options on each char (pistols, machine guns and grenades). I ve been leveling only one on each except vashyron (where i leveled grenades also). Should i level all three and if yes how? Havent figured a way to change items for grenades for example in the girl or use two guns etc.

the game will prompt you about dual guns soon enough. to change items for grenades etc. unequip the grenade box from vash and the first aid kit from leanne and swap.

Okay, I think I'm pretty much done with the game. I just beat the bonus dungeon, and I feel I've done and seen everything there is to do and see in the game. I might come back in a few months and actually finish this NG+, and do the arena stuff (probably not, it's pretty boring), but for now I'm done. 77 hours is quite enough to put into one game. :lol

:lol Nice.

I've maxed out about 20 of the ranks in the arena, still going strong!

I need to progress in the story though, I just needed more hexes and a lot of the arena enemies are humans so I got a good bit off them.

I remember someone mentioning quality meats though, how many should I keep? I have like...80 something of them.

Yeah, that is what, 550 battles to get the star for each rank? I love RoF, but not that much.

How far did you make it in the Arena?

Up to about Rank 16. It's really, really boring and just grindy. There's zero challenge whatsoever for me at this point, so I'm not going to continue. Done! :D

Ahh you must have hopped in late? I'm doing em as I go so the battles are still pretty challenging and fun. I get lots of loot and xp from them as well lol.

ULTROS!

People seem to like me because I am polite and I am rarely late. I like to eat ice cream and I really enjoy a nice pair of slacks.

Is there a trophy/achievement if you complete the arena?

So i'm up to chapter 14, no real problems to speak of so far and my character levels are Vash 61, Zephyr 58 and Leanne 61. My current setup is HG + bullet case (Vash), MG + MG (Zephyr) and HG + Items (Leanne).

Wondering if there is anything I should change or add, got the third MG but haven't decked it out yet and all the other available HG's at that point, is it possible to deck out those guns with all the barrels now? Must admit that I rarely use the bullet case but i'm thinking it might be useful for some of the bosses?

On normal difficulty you can finish with the statue at nearly full health. Did you even research whether it was possible or not before making a blanket claim about "everyone" being unable to do better than "super low statue HP"?

Isn't this just a little unnecessary? We get it already.

I didn't "research" and it was obviously an exaggeration made as a joke; I made this remark because several people had this same story even in this thread. /o\ Smartass

I've been listening to Active Time Babble, and apparently last podcast they talked about Resonance of Fate. While I've been chuckling at the obvious irony in Parish's words regarding how animey this game is (being that he on the other side is enamored with FF13), I'm also curious. Was it really that hard for some of you to 'get' the battle system? Is the tutorial honestly not that helpful?

Does anyone know how to do the kiting thing? I'm not really sure how it works.

I killed Dolled Up Dwellest the conventional way at the time, and it was pretty tough...

Get close enough that the enemy starts charging up its attack meter, then keep running. If the enemy has a slow/small range attack it will whiff.

Volcynika said:
If you max out every rank, yes.

AKA complete 10 battles of every rank and get a star.
There are two arena trophies/achievements. One is for beating the rank 50 bosses and the other is for getting the stars in every rank.

I didn't think it was particularly hard. It is just one of those games where you have to learn it by playing it.

It seems like they were just trying to be funny. Honestly, the 1up rpg blog/podcast really doesn't resonate with me.

Tutorial tells you what you really need to know, exploring the rest on your own is a big part of the fun in this game to me...

It really wasn't too hard to get the basics for me (getting a random encounter before the tutorial did get me killed though, fast), mastering every subtlety of it, that's something else I guess, but it's not really required to be able to enjoy this game. By just playing it you'll learn enough about the combat system to get by, me personally I think it's great that I'm still finding out little new things in battle even after more than 70 (end of chapter 14, looks like I'm kinda slow compared to others) hours playing.

Anyway, if you're not unfamiliar with gaming and got half a brain you should be ok, I don't get a lot of the complaints in reviews but then again, they say love is blind. :D

It really isn't that difficult, no. The tutorial explains all the necessary aspects of the battle system step by step, and it's just up to the player to work out when to use them and how. It helps that the first bunch of chapters at least are pretty simple stuff, so you're eased into it.

I wouldn't worry. Between the tutorial and a few hours of play you'll get the bulk of it just fine.

Just got it and played for an hour. Makes a good impression so far, but I hope the story gets going anytime soon.

Is there anything special I should care for that can destroy my experience with the game?

And how many chapters are there?

So I'm 25 hours in, lvl.40s, and finishing up the arena battles in ch.6 right now before moving to ch.7 and I really like the game, but I don't think I like it as much as duckroll or error or some of the big fans here.

I love the battles that require good strategy and the action is extremely satisfying thanks to the fantastic sound work (CRUNCH) and battle presentation (pieces flying everywhere). The non-battle gameplay is well structured and fun and it's a really addicting game.

But I feel like it's very repetitive. Every chapter feels like the same thing of main mission, sub-mission, danger hexes, arena. Repeat. It's super awesome and new and addicting at first, especially because you're going to all these new floors and freeing all their hexes. But by 20 hours in it started feeling very repetitive to me. The battles still require new strategies and there are new areas/enemies/story every chapter, but the flow doesn't feel as interesting as a traditional "exploring" rpg. Especially because I feel like I'm hovering around the same floors now that I've already cleared the hexes and been to the towns/buildings/dungeons. The traveling up and down all the elevators to do all the stuff each chapter isn't the most exciting either.

In this respect, to me RoF feels a lot like Persona 3/4. Great rpg, but the main experience is very repetitive and missing the wonder of traveling and exploring a world (it's there at first when uncovering places and new floors, but lately it hasn't been).

I still really dig it and it's one of the better rpgs in recent memory, but right now it feels about an 8-9/10. I'm not really getting the "best rpg this gen" or the "best tri-ace game to date" feel.

Ehh all RPG's are repetitive to a degree and I agree that this one is as well. The game is flat out fun to play though. The battle system (which takes up a majority of the game) never gets dull because it has actual depth, challenge and participation.

Okay first impressions were pretty average, though I only played half an hour. Coming off 80 hours of FFXIII, the opening few cutscenes in RoF were comparatively mediocre. Is it just me or is there something off with the color in the in-game graphics? They look extremely washed out (PS3 version). Got my ass kicked in the first fight but after about my 3rd try I finally had a win. I can definitely see the potential in the combat, and it certainly does look cool (even the basic moves I've been doing). Did the bridge mission and delivered some knives, and then the game froze on me before I could save (is there autosaving?). On the plus side the audio is very nice...I might have to read the manual before I have another crack at it.

I remember reading that there was a second MG to pick up in Chapter 4. Anyone remember where? o and also, silver and gold chips aren't good for anything but selling, right?

I think part of it is that I'm ridiculously overleveled so the game doesn't have much challenge anymore. I haven't grinded at all, but just by doing all the arena challenges/danger hexes/side missions/optional dungeons I was running lvl.50 characters with customized dual machine guns by the end of ch.6. I don't really understand why they opened up the optional dungeons & 10+ arena ranks so early in the game. If you're a completionist and you want to do everything before moving on it just totally overlevels you to no end and it's really no fun when you kill everything in 1 hit and nothing can touch you. It's kind of dulls the battles to the point where I just run past enemies if the game doesn't force me to kill them.

If I had to do it again, I would've skipped the arena entirely until endgame. Same with optional dungeons.

Floor 9 dakota veins. Might have been ch.5 though. Getting them mixed up already.

I've been killing idols for 30 minutes trying to get 1 pair of mannequin legs. Just drop them, game. Just drop them.

Wow, you managed to be 30 levels higher than I was at Chapter 6 without grinding. Pretty amazing.

Maybe you should check the enemy compendium to make sure you are fighting the right enemies. Legs shouldn't be that hard to find, just make sure you are attacking the right enemy part before you kill it.

I just left to do another quest, but checking a drop list is wise. It BETTER be in the forest of idols because thats where the damn woman told me to go :lol

All the mannequin parts are dropped in the forest of idols, but different enemies drop different parts.

I had a bit of difficulty with mannequin heads myself, but once I figured out which enemies dropped them getting the parts I needed didn't take long.

I'm sure this has been answered, but you can't change the vocal track once you've started the game?

Or is it a global option that you can change only in the main menu and it effects all save games?

It's like Valkyria, you can't change the voice track in-game, it has to be changed at the main menu and you have to start a new game for it to take effect.

With Valkyria you could change it and it would take effect on all games in progress though?

Oh well, I guess I could just try it the next time I play it... that said, after the "easiness" of FF13 and Yakuza 3, I'm not sure I can handle this game. :lol

Dear god the chapter 14 dungeon is kicking my ass. Am I doing something wrong or was there supposed to be a difficulty spike? I also have no idea what I'm actually doing in this dungeon too, do I need to take out all of the enemies in all of the hexes?

I've been waiting until Chapter 15 to deck out my guns more because I read thats where most of the items drop for crafting the best barrels etc.

I had to skip the first fight because of the high difficulty, but the other ones were easier.

Here's the solution to the main mission dungeon:
• Go all the way around to the hex between the two western exits and pull a lever to open a gate.
• Go to the hex in the bottom right corner.
• Defeat the boss.

Ah, thanks for that, already flipped the switch but couldn't work out what to do after that haha.

Same here,I have 40 of the other parts but only 2 legs...i`m killing the right ennemies and all but they are not dropping,oh well it`s a sidequest,i`ll just forget it for now...still,when someone says make sure you shoot body parts,i`m not quite sure what they mean by that...I only have one circled aim target on the dolls, how am I suppose to aim on the legs?,most of the time if you circle them to hit their backs let`s say, they circle with you so they face you...

You don't have to break the legs or anything, it should just drop.

If I remember correctly one of the hard to get parts can only be found from the female maniquin things in the top left corner of the map (which is like 2 rooms long) and the other can be nabbed from the arena battle featuring them.

No,that`s another thing i don`t quite understand so I`m not bothering with it so far...there is one terminal,on the initial floor, that says 7/3 on it,and that confuses me...some say like 0/65 for example,so why is that one saying 7/3? shouldn`t it say 3/3?
