Cool setup! It's super cozy.

got a two RGB CRT set up going on
There's a good reason why (calibrating the 29" Sony set via service menu). Got it almost perfect now - had SMW running on both via SNES and Wii, and the images are now identical, which is again identical to the reference image I'm using via the PC
hooray! that's dedication, I guess.
I need to learn how to use my TV's service menu calibration. I've managed to get into the service menu, but have no idea what any of the cryptically names settings do.
I just want to straighten the image, it's a bit curvy at certain points on the screen.
What TV is it? You should be able to find the service manual online (not the consumer instructions). I found the sony one easily for free, although a lot of sites had it for a cost.
With my Sony CRT, it was a specific four button sequence. Problem is, it was impossible to do with the remote. I had to program my HTC ONE as a remote for it and use that instead.
But now I can access it, I can change horizontal/vertical size and position, bend, pincushion, base colour, base contrast, gain, 16:9 detection (turned that off!), RGB default, etc
I honestly never thought there would be a specific service manual available online, but I found my model number, searched and a free download was the first result. Thanks for the idea!
Now I just hope I don't break anything..

True that! I'd love to have a small gaming room. I'll be sure to get one once me and the girl move to a bigger place. Actually, my dream of a perfect gaming room is like a small Harry Potterish room under a staircase with a 19" CRT, some wall shelves and a beanbag on the floorCool setup! It's super cozy.
Is that your living room, Irish? If so, your significant other must be hellla cool. My partner's pretty accommodating with the bit of encroaching I do into the common areas (LEGO builds, recent gen systems, Rock Band stuff), but I try to keep the obtrusive retro collection relegated to the game room. So hard though!
Where'd you get that lit SEGA sign from?
There's no N-Gage thread. While not surprising, I always found the little handheld-phone a little overlooked. It's a shame there's no way to emulate the system that I know of because one of the biggest things holding me back from expanding my collection is that the screen isn't the best thing in the world.
Oooh, nice and clean. =)I am setting up a retro area at my new flat, it's nowhere near finished but I did connect all the power and video cables, now I just need to hook them up to a nice TV and exhibit my retro games somewhere:
(excuse my reflex on the glass doors :/)

Where'd you get those glass display case/shelves that house the consoles?

They're from Ikea, 20 euros each: http://www.ikea.com/es/es/catalog/products/50171754/?query=EXPEDIT+Accesorio+con+puerta+vidrio
They go with the EXPEDIT series shelves.
OMG, this made my day: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lxy6E4yeWzs
Thanks people
Shame my phone camera sucks. This print looks amazing in person. It really does not look like it came from a computer image, albeit a very high res one.
Pity that the price has risen on Tesco to £24 a print now...I should have snapped up two or three when they were £5!
edit: lol, found a DLSR. try to ignore the glare from the frame - I have some powerful spotlights in this room and as I was using manual focus, the images are slightly out of focus. fuck. ah well:
Do you have a copy of the image? I need this!
I actually deleted it - but just have a look on Google images for secret of mana under the high res images mode.
Is there any compression artifacts on your print? Are these web images are high enough resolution for printing?
I've fallen off the sobriety wagon and have started collecting Neo Geo AES games again.
FOR THE LOVE OF GOD - HELP ME BEFORE I END UP IN THE GUTTER CLUTCHING A METAL SLUG CARTRIDGE
its best to not think of it and just keep getting more
The "game" system requiring a SIMS to be activated and the not-so-good control inputs is what put me off. There's no N-Gage thread. ^absolutely! and funny, as a bonus on a lot i bought off a forum, i got an N-Gage copy of Monkey Ball today...SEALED
considering trades on that one, feel free to PM if you have Outback Joey (i'll consider loose copies)
^there totally isn't, but there should be! you'd prolly get all kindsa members of PC-GAF to take part too.
- Filtering: You take the negative details and magnify them while filtering out all positive aspects of a situation.
- Polarized Thinking: Things are black or white, good or bad. You have to be perfect or you're a failure. There is no middle ground.
- Overgeneralization: You come to a general conclusion based on a single incident or piece of evidence. If something bad happens once you expect it to happen over and over again.
- Mind Reading: Without their saying so, you know what people are feeling and why they act the way they do. In particular, you are able to divine how people are feeling toward you.
- Castastrophizing: You expect disaster. you notice or hear about a problem and start "what if's". What if tragedy strikes? What if it happens to you?"
- Personalization: Thinking that everything people do or say is some kind of reaction to you. You also compare yourself to others, trying to determine who's smarter, better looking, etc.
- Control Fallacies: If you feel externally controlled, you see yourself as helpless, a victim of fate. The fallacy of internal control has you responsible for the pain and happiness of everyone around you.
- Fallacy of Fairness: You feel resentful because you think you know what's fair but other people won't agree with you.
- Blaming: You hold other people responsible for your pain, or take the other tack and blame yourself for every problem or reversal.
- Should: You have a list of ironclad rules about how you and other people should act. People who break the rules anger you and you feel guilty if you violate the rules.
- Emotional Reasoning: You believe that what you feel must be true-automatically. If you feel stupid and boring, then you must be stupid and boring.
- Fallacy of Change: You expect that other people will change to suit you if you just pressure or cajole them enough. You need to change people because your hope for happiness seem to depend entirely on them.
- Global Labeling: You generalize one or two qualities into a negative global judgment.
- Being Right: You are continually on trial to prove that your opinions and actions are correct. Being wrong is unthinkable and you will go to any length to demonstrate your rightness.
- Heaven's Reward Fallacy: You expect all your sacrifice and self-denial to pay off, as if there were someone keeping score. You feel better when the reward doesn't come
neat. wire-management is a must though, imo.
i didn't think SFC could work SNES shell. do the power, reset, and eject all function normally?
