Sony has A-1 Pictures (produced Sword Art Online, Nier Automata) and CloverWorks (produced Spy × Family, Bocchi the Rock) under Aniplex which is a subsidiary of Sony Music Entertainment Japan.

Damn, didn't know they also owned cloverworks. It's probably my favourite anime studio, and I will die on the hill that bocchi the rock is the best anime made till date.

Laws and processes failed those employees. Sony is the only company that could change the pay structure there because it is a forgone conclusion that Sony will use their existing pay structure. No other companies offered relief for those employees.

This is big news if you are a Sony/Kadokawa shareholder. Not so big news for a gamer as I imagine all souls game will be multiplat going forward. I expect the Switch 2 port of Elden Ring to sell exceedinly well and Sony will make a big folly if they make From's output exclusive.

There are at least a couple of benefits this acquisition may bring:

• Bloodborne remaster may become a realistic possibility
• Even Bloodborne 2 may be on the cards
• FromSoftware's positive impact on other PlayStation Studios games (and vice versa)
• FromSoftware might end up releasing a technically optimized game at least once in their lifetime.

Once again, they are buying Kadokawa as a whole. It's way-way-way bigger deal than From. From is just a bonus and I'm sure that Sony will even keep the multiplat policy for future releases. The main asset is anime, music and huge publishing arm of Kadokawa (ASCII and Yen Press).

The while point of this deal is not about games in the slightest.
