Rex Tillserson Debates Quitting After "Unprofessional" Trump bashes Jeff Sessions

Stop talking about it and just do it.

At this rate Trump might as well just tap Mattis for SoS, because that's the only person I could see getting through Congress at this point.

But now that I've said that, Trump is sure to nominate Newt or Hannity. Maybe even try to recess appoint one, but fail miserably at it.

It makes a lot of sense. Sessions is far and away the most loyal person in Trump's circle who is not related to him and if you're going to treat that person like shit then there is no hope for anyone else.

One hell of a ball for the like of Trump and Kushner to tell the guy that ran operation thousands times larger than their businesses on how to be professional

Sessions, Tillerson, and Bannon should just quit all at once, just for the lulz of Trump trying to make it look like everything's perfectly normal and running smoothly.

Can Priebus join them? Why should he be left out of this song and dance? Time to abandon ship.

Wasn't Rex Tillerson the guy who broke up Homer's liquor racketeering?
That was Rex Banner. I wouldn't mind seeing Trump and his cronies meet a similar fate.
Getting flung via catapult.

Why is Bannon in that list? All of this stuff is the kind of thing he has been dreaming of, the dismantling of the administrative state, or however he put it.

Ahahahahahahaha, this administration is such a mess, GOP should be ineligible for decades, at least it would be if not 50% of 'merica were loco.

He supposedly wanted to quit a while ago, following his feud with Kushner or whatever. Maybe he's back on board now -- but if he is, it doesn't really show.

You'd think so and yet Bannon seems rather disenchanted of late given how he no longer has the President's ear to steer that dismantling. He's been hiding out in Priebus' office effectively boxed out by Kushner and Miller.

I have to imagine he's also rather disenchanted by how ineffective Trump has been at actualizing chaotic legislation and getting it entrenched. He wants the state to be dismantled; Trump self-destructing in a way that leaves Pence a lame duck and the Democrats poised to sweep isn't conducive to realizing that goal.

What would theoretically happen if a president lost his whole cabinet through firings and resignations and nobody would want to be hired for the empty posts anymore?

Of course I'm stressing 'theoretically' again since there are always some thankful stooges around for even the worst presidents.

Yeah, a convenient excuse for a Secretary of State who VIOLATED SANCTIONS AGAINST RUSSIA. He's going because Trump is suddenly unprofessional.

What kind of consequences were you expecting? According to the Treasury Dept, he wasn't personally involved. Furthermore, Tillerson was a big shot at the time leading a multinational.

If Tillerson's people thought that it was a good idea to do business with a banned company, then he's going to give it his blessing as the "ultimate decision-maker." ExxonMobil gets a slap on the wrist for the cost of doing business and the end result is a nothingburger.
