Rivals of Aether II is the sequel to the hit indie fighting game, Rivals of Aether. Play as both new and returning elemental fighters in the next generation of platform fighters.

My OTs are generally quick and dirty to have an official space to discuss a game that isn’t having an OT made by anyone so I do it. I’ll add more to it over the course of time.

I feel bad for the devs that no one one GAF is excited for this but me haha.

It’s basically a much more polished Smash melee. I played a lot of the original and the sequel is very much a big step up.

Im diving in tomorrow to grind.

I'm just not into Smash, personally. I tried the last one just for the campaign and drifted off in just a few hours. Never really into it in the past either. But yeah, sounds like Smash fans should keep an eye on this.

Looks great. Will pick it up on Playstation when/if it arrives. Still holding out hope for a release of the first game.

Played a good chunk this weekend.

My major issue stems from something they can’t solve - there’s no beginner players.

I got dumped into bronze for ranked and expected to play other shitters after losing my placements. Nope. Everyone touches me once and juggles my ass in the air for 50%+.

I’ve had a few matches where I just run off the cliff on purpose after I see I can’t even get back on the ground or cliff. Lots of options to try to get on the ledge and back on the platform but when you’re playing against Mang0 and Leffen every game… yeah forget it.

The actual gameplay is top notch. The visuals are great. The music. Love the roster. Very friendly cosmetic store you can earn things from in game play. Fantastic net code.

But yeah there’s no noobies. Either you’re a smash god and can play , or not and you’ve got a game you can’t play except maybe casuals with a friend.
