Apparently Ford may have been paying the utility bills for the crackhouse. What

Also, it's goddamn embarrassing watching this crap on the daily show and whatnot. For the first time ever I'm actually embarrassed to live here.

Wait, what? This made it on Jon Stewart? I haven't been able to watch TDS/CR due to other commitments, but I gotta see this!

Seems like Blair is trying to hold back from laughing about this whole 'suggestion' to step down. Ahaha.. gosh.

Yeah. It was also on the daily show months ago when the crack story first broke.

More info on Ford paying crack house utilities. I would not call it a slam dunk yet but there is more evidence coming to light.

http://www.thestar.com/news/city_ha...ford_pay_utility_bills_for_a_crack_house.html

But a city official has confirmed that on Jan. 7, Chris Fickel, one of Ford’s special assistants, called the city’s water department on behalf of resident Fabio Basso regarding a sewage issue at 15 Windsor Rd., said Toronto Water manager Lou Di Gironimo.

“One possible explanation for these entries could be that the Mayor is dealing with house maintenance and bill payment at 15 Windsor Rd.,” the detective writes in the document.

Stop Harassing him. Owning a small business isn't a crime. It might not even be a real crackhouse, it might have been just a grow-op! You lefties like grow-ops right? Hypocrites. Rob Ford just helped out a citizens with a sewage problem. Is that a crime? I'm paying less taxes now because of Rob Ford and that's all that really matters.

Edit: Nobody goes after Justin Trudeau for being a pothead. Buncha media vultures.

I was just about to write a letter to my councillor, John Filion, pleading for some kind of action on behalf of Toronto when I saw on twitter that:

"Coucillor John Filion says he's working on a council motion of some sort related to this - the first indication of any council action."

"Filion said Doug Ford's comments are appalling, etc. - said there's nobody they won't attack if they'll attack the chief this way."

This is not a big deal. I'm sure he pays a lot of utility bills around the area. If you expect the Mayor of a big city like Toronto to remember every house he paid utility bills for, you've obviously never seen how busy he is.

Just dotting the 'i's and crossing the 't's on his crack house utility bills.
It all makes sense now.

I'm really concerned, to be honest. This is getting into the territory of spectacle and I don't trust young voters to give a shit about the issues enough to care. I'm envisioned scenarios next year in which the voter turnout rate doubles and Ford is elected in a landslide as a joke.

Just when you didn't think the Fords could be any more insufferable.. They're really grasping at straws now attacking the police chief like this. When will the madness end?

Also Hudak should be hiding in a hole right now frantically cutting Ford out of photos the two of them are in if he knows that's good for him.

Didn't Hudak hide when the initial allegations against Ford came up then came back after the Scarborough subway deal then hiding again now that it came back?

You know what's funny about all this?
Suddenly Bill Blair, the guy who five or six years ago said racial profiling and stopping black/brown people was "normal" and not "racially motivated" (what?), is now the good guy.

Toronto, the city of insanity.

"Councillor John Filion's motion would suspend the mayor's power to fire or appoint committee chairs."

"So his key allies could speak their minds without being fearful that they'll lose their powerful posts. He thinks it's all council can do."

Young voters who do vote (small %) are usually generally well informed or interested in a singular issue that they support heavily. Plus younger people statistaclly vote more towards the left. I am sure you may hear anecdotal evidence of young voters saying they will make joke votes but those people very rarely turn up to vote.

Those are young voters who do vote. The apathetic ones are the ones I'm worried about.

I suspect most voters next year will go on their "gut" feeling about Ford. Unfortunately there are still too many who see him as the underdog and victim here. The bright side is that we have a year to go and this story is clearly far from over.

It's pretty sad that the cops have all this evidence around the mayor and criminal activities, yet they have nothing to charge him with. There's a huge contingent of people out there that are of the belief of "unless he's charged, it's all a witch hunt". Sadly, if he never gets charged, he'll get re-elected. How pathetic is that?

Just like Bush wouldn't get re-elected in the U.S? He's portraying himself as a victim now and will win sympathy for it unless there's charges against him.

Does Doug Ford ever stop talking? Serious question. You'd think the strategy would be to lay low for a bit.

Best defense is a good offense. This gives all the Ford supporters material to call in with. "It's all the chief and his political ambitions! Rob is innocent"

He did? WHERE?

Media scrum outside his office.

The CBC anchor right now is shocked. You can hear in her voice, she can't believe it.

I can't believe he wouldn't call a proper press conference, or something.

And a reporter asked "Are you high?" and he laughed and walked off, but honestly, I think it was a fair question.
