The one person who I think could really nail the essence of "The Joker" is Wayne Brady. He has the charisma and physical stature to really hit a home run in the role.

I change my vote to this.

even Hamill's voice i don't think would work with what they seem to be going for in Batman Begins/Batman 2. I think they are going to try and make joker a truly homocidal, serial killer type. The cartoon voice is too theatrical and (pardon the word) "cartoony" for a real joker.

To a certain extent, yes. I actually dig Nicholson's voice better for the live action role, but even his actual performance didn't sell me on the character :/

Another reason why they need need NEED to choose someone who I can't immediately recognize under the make-up.

Robin Willians is my most-disliked actor. I can't stand him. If he is in an otherwise quality Batman movie, just his presence would be an offense on the scale of Batman & Robin.

You got a problem there, chief?

It's a mystery. Robin Williams just somehow figured out how to be the most annoying person alive.

agreed

there is nothing more disturbing than sitting in a room watching his stand-up and being the only person not laughing at his convulsing

that picture sold me on this guy. i remember him from ocean's twelve. outstanding choice.

Can the Joker have a huge French accent though? Yeah, it might help make American audience root for Batman, but would that be the joker?

There is only one choice :
"RIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIDGE RACER - IT's RIDGE RACER
599
599
599 US DOLLARS"
Kaz Hirai
So funny yet so tragic

Sorry, I just can't imagine this guy playing the Joker on film:

For a guy just starting out on this whole "crime" thing, he seems a bit too old ;)

How does he look any older than Jack did?

Batman Begins.....Batman Begins......Batman Begins

And I say give it to Matthew McConaughey. That mother****er looks crazy even when he isn't smiling.

"If I could take down the President, batman would be no problem!"

It would be a good role for him because it is nothing like his TV persona. They would just have to reference his look from lost boys.

How about Thomas Jane, or his doppelganger, Aaron Eckhart? Both are pretty talented and can carry off the whole demented swagger of the characer.

And I know Nolan likes to keep it as British as possible, so why not Tim Roth, who's got more range then an ICBM and can do psycho-villians in his sleep.

Not to mention in the original movie it was the Joker that killed Bruce's parents, wasn't it? Therefor it made sense for the joker to be much older than batman. In this the joker has no connection at this point to batman.

Does anybody remember that one TAS episode where Batman chases the Joker into some theme park area, where the Joker sits down on a conveyor belt in a darkened room? Or at least, does anybody remember the commercial on Cartoon Network playing that scene? Soooo evil. His smile shows in the light and in the dark and all you hear is the laughing. Soooo freaky.

Yes, that's probably the most vivid memory I have of the Joker. That one scene is the entire embodiment I have of Joker and what he is. Whoever they decide to pick to play Joker in Batman Begins 2, I hope that they can pull off that look.

Where's that picture of Hugo as Agent Smith laughing like he's nuts? It's a better quality close-up of the following:

EDIT: This is the one I'm looking for, but in higher resolution:

Williams is an accomplished actor and I think he has a ton of talent. I wouldn't discount him as a bad joker until I actually "watched" the movie with him in it. Saying he would suck right off the bat is foolish IMO.

if it had been my ideal situation, Jim Caviezel would have played Batman/Bruce Wayne and Christian Bale would have played the ultimate american psycho ... the Joker :D

i would love to live in world were Bill Paxton is given the opportunity to play the joker.

I would love for you to enter that world too.

Agent Smith would KILL but they should go young, upstart Joker so Brody.

Edit: Since Guy Pearce ain't Batman, he's my choice for Joker.

Real edit: I hit quote instead of edit and thus fail at the interweb.

And Guy Pearce as Harvey Dent?

Robin Williams as Joker? I say do it! Do it now!

Since Robin Williams sucks, he will fit right in... shitty Joker, shitty Batman! Maybe they can kill each other off and we'll get a GOOD Batman in movie 3

Oooh, Bowie! Now that would be interesting. He's already got the in with Nolan too. He gets a thumbs up from me. Bowie makes everything great.

No accounting for taste I guess.
