Rock Band 4 announced for PS4 and Xbox One

As super excited as I was for this, I think I'm going to have to cancel my pre-order. I missed out on the Legacy Adapaters, again, which really killed it for me. I was already going to have to order an extra wireless guitar from eBay (which I was just about to do before I saw the adapters were gone again), because none of my old ones are wireless. I'm still pretty bummed about the IONs not working, but was in for the Band in a Box. Since I can't buy a RB4 guitar separately, and I have had no luck being able to catch the adapter when it's available, I really don't think I can take the plunge right now. I'm admittedly also driven by the fact that my wife and kids both play, so I really need that fourth instrument. Maybe once you can purchase the RB4 stuff individually I'll buy it.

I think they will be at least available to buy on Xbox One on release, going by the fact that the website lists all of them as "Available on 10/6/2015". They wouldn't do that if those were just for digital buyers.
 
Crazy that Amazon is already sold out of adapters (for now) - wonder how many other people cancelled their physical preorders today.

It seems like it would be a hassle and there is no guarantee of MS giving you a refund if you have already gotten a refund for digital content this year but I suppose you could preorder the digital edition and then try to get a refund. It is a free bonus for pre-ordering the game, not for keeping the game forever. It would probably be a pain in the ass though.
 
Wait a fucking minute, I just realized, people who pre-order the game and legacy adapter bundle don't even get a pre-order bonus on Amazon or GAME...What kind of bullshit is that? Standalone game I can kind of understand them holding stuff back for that, but why only give a bonus to 2 out of 3 bundles? Kind of arse backwards!
 
It seems like a weird launch in the UK full stop, I was searching for good prices earlier and places like Zavvi aren't even stocking the base game (which of course then leads to the problem of there being no competition for the already inflated pricing).

I'm just gonna reprise my old role, of mostly lurking except to throw in clarifications and DLC comments from time to time.

And to rag on people hating on bands I like.

But that's a prerequisite to being in a Rock Band OT.
 
Is GameStop getting the adapter? I didn't know I had to be in a rush at all to get it from Amazon. Could have gotten it yesterday if I knew that was the case
 
wait so I missed it, are RBN tracks going to be forward compatible or not? I bought a lot of DLC but half is probably rbn, and if I cant transfer that then I might not even get the xbone version.. undecided

As of right now, RBN tracks will not be available, but I don't think they've ruled it out from coming out possibly later.

well that kind of sucks. get it on a system I don't really want to keep to save 400$ in dlc or do it on the chance it *might* be available.

this whole dlc situation kind of sucks, but it's at least better than what GH is doing, so I can't really complain.
 
I haven't seen anything on this and maybe I missed it, but is the cymbal kit for drums going to be sold at launch? I'd consider getting the band in the box if I could also get some cymbals to play pro drums.
 
The new OT should just be named after the original rock band thread that started it all for RB GAF.

A: We will not be selling standalone Rock Band 4 instruments for pre-order or at launch. This does not mean that we will never sell hardware separately from the game; we plan to make standalone instruments available in early 2016. The only exception to this are the Rock Band 4 cymbal expansion kits, which will be available for purchase at launch! We’re focused on manufacturing hardware to satisfy demand for the bundle offers that are currently live.
