Rock Band 4 announced for PS4 and Xbox One

I haven't bought physical games off Amazon in a long time, but for most upcoming games coming out on Tuesdays, if they guarantee release-date delivery they say "Want to receive this the day it comes out? Select Two-Day Shipping at checkout." That's what it says for the software and instruments bundles. It doesn't say that for the adapter, but hopefully they add it. Without Prime it's $7.98 for two-day. Hope it would still come release day with that.

Also fwiw, Prime is going to be on sale for $67 (from $100) this Friday. New members only though :(

Nice just cancelled and reordered the adapter using the discount code. Great deal.

Gonna pre-order the game digitally as well. Now I have to contemplate getting the band in a box and selling everything except the drums, or just waiting for the drums to be released stand alone. I only have RB1 drums currently.

So just to make things clear. The Adapter is for wireless controllers right? Wired 360 guitars will just work when plugged in for Xbox One?

did the previous games let you play with 2 drums?

I could have sworn that it did but that might have been guitar hero instead...

I've got:

RB4 band bundle preordered

RB3 drums with cymbals(those are being pulled off and used for the new kit)
GH5 guitar
RB3 keyboard
bunch of mics

Are the instruments bluetooth wireless or with a USB adapter like last time?

Nice just ordered the adapter.

Remember to use code RB4ADAPTER” at amazon.com for $15

Just reposting in case people don't read through earlier posts.

Looks like i'll be preordering digitally now. Which I just got a refund so it works out quite well.
Awesome, thank you so much for posting a link that finally works for me! Got the adapter for $10 with free 2-day Prime shipping. Now, like others are saying, I hope I actually receive it the day the game comes out and not 2 days afterwards.

That's kind of a crazy deal on that adapter, although being non-Prime puts a damper on it, but still pretty great. Also getting digital preorder bonuses is nice. Glad they're doing right by digital purchasers.

I did not expect them to call out GH guitar compatibility on the Amazon adapter page. I'm down for a discount adapter+digital xbox one copy.

It is too bad they don't support wired controllers though..

Getting XOne band in a box.

Really wanted the XOne adapter cause band box only has 1 guitar and I'm not buying the game twice just for another guitar.

But the $15ish shipped for an adapter is perfect!.
Now I can give one of my worn out guitars to the bassist.

Also...
Am I the only one excited for Gimme Chocolate by Baby Metal?
Can't wait for the exclusives to because open for all.

The only way to buy the new drum kit is to buy the whole bundle? I have my RB1 guitar and drums which apparently I cant use with the adapter because they are wired. I plan to play drums almost exclusively so would be nice if I could just buy the game and the drum kit.
Also, does anybody know if the Xbone bundle is going to be back in stock any time soon at Best Buy? I was hopping to buy it there and take advantage of the of the 20% off from gamers club membership but I see its sold out online.

Go in store and place an order.

Personally, out of the all of the DLC preorder bonuses across all versions, there are a lot of good picks, but I think the only great one that really needed to be on-disc is September.

And I think The Reflex and Jane could've been put on there as well. But at least we know these songs are coming. And hopefully we can buy them day 1.

tsk, tsk, tsk, show some respect for the bassists.

In actuality i have a perfectly working Hoffner and split strum bass.
But both are fairly uncomfortable to use for most guests though.
They are only in such good condition cause Hoffner is uncomfortable for me (resting arm on it leaves a giant line across arm) and the bass has no proper whammy bar for maximum overdrive.

Seems like a good deal. Preorder instore ensures release day pick up, right?

Wonder if i can get it all done on 30 min lunch break next door.
I went to the store and tried to preorder it but couldn't because the system said they were sold out of xbone bundles :( I guess I will keep checking online to see if they add any more bundles in the mean time I will order the bundle from Amazon as a backup.

Damnit! I have a dilemma. I'm on Xbox. I have 1 wired guitar, 1 wireless guitar, 2 mics, and ION Drumset.

I have the RB4 +Guitar bundle preordered at Amazon for $130. Although I wanted the digital copy of RB4 I felt like getting a new guitar would be nice then I would have 2 wireless ones.

Now I see these 12 preorder songs for Xbox One AND the adapter being $10 with code and it is making me rethink this. I could get the game digitally (Yes!) and adapter for $70 (Saving $60) and the 12 bonus songs which will inevitably be available for download later at $2 a pop (so save $24). BUT I only have 1 guitar that I can play the game with using the adapter until they start selling stand-alone guitars in 2016. The mics would work but I wouldn't be able to play drums until the ION is compatible (grrrrrrr)

So what do you think GAF?
Get the bundle with Physical copy + guitar (and adapter for $10) allowing me to shred with a friend but forgo the 12 bonus tracks?

Or go digital, get adapter and roll solo until 2016, while saving $84?

This would be an easy decision if the Guitars were sold separately.

I have avoided DLC fiascos because I don't really care about DLC material that is out there for 99.9% of games.

This is the first time I've experienced it and it is frustrating.

Go with the physical bundle just because having a new Guitar is always REALLY nice.

Anybody buying both RB4 and GH Live? I was set on maybe buying one or the other but after seeing there's like a $10 discount on GH Live on top of the cheaper than RB4 price + $10 in music credit I went ahead and said eff it and ordered both guitar bundles but having second thoughts :/

This is the way I am leaning, haven't had a new guitar since RB2. That fresh clickity-clack it tough to turn down.
Plus I bought an Xbone mainly because of RB4 (I have over 800 songs on Xbox 360). might as well go the whole way and get a new guitar too, right? haha

Plus those preorder tracks will probably be up for everyone in like a month.

Yes, but I will have to pay for them instead of get them for free.

Edit:
It sucks that I have to even make a decision. If the Guitar was sold separately I would get digital game with bonus DLC, adapter for $10 and buy new guitar separately.

I wonder how long before they'll give some proper info about how people without the digital version are going to be able to buy these.

Great business practice, saving some of the best songs for DLC. Some bullshit, Harmonix. Jeez.

When RB3 had preorder DLC such as this, the songs were available in a very short turnaround after release. (Don't know the exact date, but we've looked it up before and it was like a week or so at most.)

So, yeah, it's not great being unable to probably purchase these day one, but Harmonix isn't one to let that exclusivity last long.

I'm in the same boat bro.
Over 600 songs, already have drums, like 3 guitars + both pro guitars, and 3 mics.
And yet... I can't help but buy the new band in a box bundle.

Instruments wear down and there's nothing like a brand new set (My guitar and drums are from RB2)

It also helps that I did my preorder at BB for in store pick up so I saved like 50 bucks.
And I'm buying the Legacy adapter at Amazon since its so cheap.

TL;DR
RB4 is my big game for the year and I'm going all out.

You have to understand, DLC is a huge part of the Rock Band experience. Train Simulator ain't got shit on Rock Band.
I understand. I'm talking about the "exclusive" DLC for different retailers and/or methods of purchasing the game.

I've been on board with DLC for Rock Band for years. I don't have the amount that many do, but I'm not against them selling DLC. It's the thing about "X DLC for preordering here" and "Y DLC for preordering here" that is frustrating.

I get that this is reality in which we live, but unlike other games where it is skins or crap I really don't care about, I care about various songs in each of the preorder bonuses for each exclusive place. So it's one of those things I need to train my mind into saying, "Pick your favorite group of songs and ignore the bonuses elsewhere". Just sucks. Ignorance is bliss sometimes.

Just got the email announcing the Xbox One Digital Version is up for preorder. Figured I'd post it here for those that didn't get it.

Hey gang!

We are excited to reveal that Rock Band™ 4 is now available for digital pre-orders for Xbox One via the Xbox Games Store in North America, South America, and Central America. Players can pre-order the game by going here or from their Xbox One console.

The adapter supports up to four wireless Rock Band controllers simultaneously as well as many third party wireless instrument controllers for the Xbox 360. This adapter is available at amazon.com/rb4adapter. During this exclusive pre-order window, players can enter the coupon code “RB4ADAPTER” at amazon.com for $15 off the adapter purchase. Standalone Xbox One instruments, including the Rock Band™ 4 Wireless Fender™ Stratocaster™ Guitar Controller and the Wireless Drum Kit will be available for purchase in early 2016.

*On Xbox One, Xbox Live account required.

The asterisk part is interesting. They bothered to put it in after "for free" so could it be possible that these songs will be available at launch of RB4 on all systems and the only incentive here is that you get these for free?

Ok, I'm strongly tempted to buy the RB4 band in a box bundle, because I want the drum kit and the auto-calibrating guitar.

At some point, I'll need a 360 adaptor for my fender wood replica. Is this something they'll sell separately? Or is this going to be another Midi adaptor nightmare that will be delayed for months?

The legacy adapter just went up for preorder on Amazon. $25 normally, but you can preorder it for $10 with the code RB4ADAPTER.

Assuming you mean the adapter to use your 360 instruments on Xbox One...

Preorder here: amazon.com/rb4adapter

Use the code "RB4ADAPTER" to get it for $10.

I am super tempted to pick up an adapter even though I'm getting the RB4 full kit just in case...

Also, I have the game preordered from Best Buy for Xbox One...does that mean I'm missing out on the digital song pack completely?

I REALLY don't like all these exclusive song packs at different places bullshit.

I was planning on selling my physical copy to go digital, but I'm thinking I'll buy a squaretrade electronics warranty on the full kit. It would suck if i tried to use it after selling physical and they asked me to send the complete package in.
