Rock Band 4 |OT| We're Putting The Rock Band Back Together

A little frustrated we didn't get any real details about the expansion. Any idea at least when pre-orders are supposed to go live?

later than a week from now minimum. They aren't going to put pre-orders up until they have the full details of the expansion available according to HMX on reddit

I wish they would expand the character creator.

I want to make an accurate Frank Black, and that's impossible when the only options are to make a human skeleton or a buff macho man

I just want to recreate the guy I used in Rock Bands 1, 2, and 3 but the creation options are horrible.

Nothing will top Rock Band 2 in terms of animation IMO. Everything about that game was amazing and I really miss that art style they used. The way the singers weren't always glued to the microphone, the stage effects (for example, the way Epic by Faith No More ended with smoke + lights), and the characters themselves looked fantastic. Also miss the awesome music videos some of the songs had.

I'm kind of shocked right now.

I was so sure that I had exported my Lego Rock Band on 360.

I've been following Rock Band threads forever and just sat idly by while seeing so much talk about it expiring and about the people that missed it, knowing that I safely had it exported.

I just realized today that I don't. What? No! :(

I'm getting Radioactive.

I figured it might be "Radioactive" since Harmonix already had their hands on the stems from Disney Fantasia.

I'm too lazy to do any matching up myself, but I wonder how much overlap there is between RB and Fantasia at this point.

I think the only song from Fantasia that I would want which hasn't crossed over already is Gaga's "Applause." I like playing the Gaga songs we already have and that is one of my more favorite songs of her's to listen to.

I was just thinking about Applause in RB today.

Shouldn't be that hard to acquire and I'm sure it'd sell.

How can you not want The Who's The Real Me? Just listen to it.

Surprised that we still don't have more info on the expansion or the ION drum adapter.

expansion details still MIA but we do have a pic of the ION adapter

"Officially licensed by Microsoft, the Rock Band™ 4 Wired Legacy Adapter for Xbox One is exclusively compatible with Rock Band 4 and these specific legacy controllers:

Rock Band 3 Midi PRO-Adapter for Xbox 360
ION Drum Rocker for Xbox 360
Wired legacy Rock Band peripherals*

* The adapter is still in development, but Harmonix and PDP are working together to achieve compatibility across the entire wired product line.

Eh, I'm not a Who fan. I did give it a listen and it sounds like it would be a great drums song (of course, it's The Who), but I don't play drums. Maybe if the PDP drums have good quality to them, I'll buy a set.

If we got "The Real..." anything though, I would want FNM's "The Real Thing."

ugh radioactive is such a horrible song and will translate to rock band even worse....might pick up never too late though...

I don't hate radioactive, but it's far from the best imagine dragons has to offer.

the top song by them that I would want is
bleeding out

I'd love it on vocals, and while the other parts wouldn't be super exciting they still wouldn't be to bad to play which would be fine because I would sing along with it :p

Woo, first ever bass FC of Radioactive! The bass chart is so fucking bizarre. Bass wubs that are all over the shop in terms of beat and tempo.

lnhYmu4.png

pop songs can have some fucked up bass charts

'alright it's a steady 4/4. i can do this..'

'wait what the fuck triplets, i don't even hear - oh fuck, they're off the main beat. help'

'fast strumming? this a fucking fruityloops sample on repeat, i can't.. NO FUCK YOUR BLAST TRIPLETS I HAD THAT FC DAMNIT'

one of the Gaga tracks has a bass track that goes all over the place. It's almost as irritating to play as Fly Like An Eagle's Guitar chart. Almost

ugh radioactive is such a horrible song and will translate to rock band even worse....might pick up never too late though...

yeah it seems pretty boring but these karaoke hits are what pays the bills and gets us the other songs, that's how i look at it

Well, that's this weeks DLC played through. Here's my first playthrough scores:

"Radioactive" - Imagine Dragons
Expert Guitar: 58,844 | 100% Notes Hit (FC) | Gold Stars | Tier 1
Expert Bass: 111,478 | 100% Notes Hit (FC) | Gold Stars Tier 4

"Never Too Late" - Three Days Grace
Expert Guitar: 97,555 | 100% Notes Hit (FC) | Gold Stars | Tier 2
Expert Bass: 75,146 | 100% Notes Hit (FC) | Gold Stars | Tier 1

"Never Too Late" is a really fun tier 2 guitar song. Plenty of hammer-on and pull-offs up and down the board with some enjoyable chord strumming, easily the highlight of the week. I'd only really reccomend "Radioactive" for party play though as it's fairly boring outside of the bizzare bass chart.

Hey GAF, so the Xbox One version of Rock Band 4 with the legacy controller adapter is $30 now.

Question - I have an old drum set for the Xbox 360. The legacy adapter mentions that it's wireless. My drum set definitely has wires though. Will this work? Or am I SOL?

SOL for wired 360 drums. You'll have to wait for the PDP adapter.

You may want to source RB2, Beatles, or RB3 wireless drums anyway - that wired set doesn't have the ability to expand to Pro later if you're interested in doing that

Got a message I can download the new preview dash on XB1. Are there still issues with this game?
if you have the digital version, MOST people (only seen one that it works for) are unable to even start the game. when you click on it, it just crashes. it's unbelievable to me that this is still an issue. i understand this is a beta dashboard but when you can't even play a game that should be a HIGH priority issue for MS to get fixed.

sad news for our British rock banders.. i'm pretty sure all your DLC just doubled in price from the GBP freefall.

edit: this a glib remark about previous price changes and the brexit, i guess i have to put an actual disclaimer that harmonix has not actually literally changed the prices in the store.

Maybe it's just my area, but I've never heard Africa anywhere except when I look the song up on YouTube. I've been hearing Hold the Line at parties or on the radio as long as I can remember.

IMO, in the US "Africa" is one of those songs that everyone remembers from the 80s, up at the level of Hungry Like the Wolf or Everybody Wants to Rule the World. Hold the Line is good, but not at that level. If you want a quick example of the difference in popularity, on Youtube (Toto actually has an official channel), Africa has 111 million views. Hold the Line has 11 million.
