Earlier (Page 3) I let my bitterness about where gaming has gone shine by asking whether the artificial scarcity of this game's arbitrary currency suggested that they were tip-toeing into currency microtransactions and horrible social spam advertising. That was before I read here that the game was intentionally unbalanced to herd people toward DLC purchases or the Facebook app. While I think that move is generally counter to gamers' interests, I realize I'm in an increasingly narrow group of people who give a shit about that at all, so I was prepared to bow my head and buy the game anyway because I'd love to add another set of quality songs to my ridiculous RB DLC library.
Now that you're talking about other ways to award coins to those gamers who don't want to use Facebook and are satisfied with their current library, I'm cynically imagining plans for things like "440 MSP = 5000 coins" or "give our partners your PII = 3000 coins" or "sign up for two months of DTV = 10,000 coins."
It's unreasonable to expect anyone involved in the game to mention anything about Harmonix's future plans for Rock Band Blitz's inexplicable economy, but I sure would feel a lot less shitty about continuing to support HMX via my DLC habit and games like this if I knew you all weren't intentionally unbalancing your game in order to nag your players into buying currency or other entirely disreputable things.
Yes, these are things that I drop all company support over. Yes, I know, I'm weird.
