Make Believe is their only bad album.
Maldroit is boring and forgettable, the Green album is catchy but lacks any of the charm of the first two albums (save Hash Pipe), and the Red album contains The Greatest Man Who Ever Lived, which is reason enough for me to ignore it outright. >:|

Maladroit is great.

I'm gonna defend Costanza on the principle that Megadeth is shit and knock-off Metallica (who has been shit for almost twenty years).
you do realize that Dave Mustaine (from Megadeth) was a founding member of Metallica, right? And that he has writing credits on their first album? and that the ONLY reason he was kicked out was for being a booze swilling asshole (worse than even James and Cliff used to be)? Metallica's first non-Mustaine assisted album (Ride the Lightning) came out less than a year before Megadeth's first studio album (Killing Is My Business).

The difference is that when Metallica sobered up and worked to improve themselves musically, they went top 40. When Megadeth did it, they simply made better metal.

Foo Fighters is probably the only full album I'll buy, maybe Jane's Addiction (should have been Ritual de lo Habitual). But all of them have tracks I'll pick up except Megadeth, so pretty awesome announcement overall.

Greatest Man is the best song off the album.

Yes I am, dood. And it doesn't change the fact that I don't like either because I don't really like metal with the exception of the most face-melting band on the planet:

Well said. We'll ignore the Shocker soundtrack.

Foo Fighters (The Colour and the Shape) I don't dislike the band, but it's too easy to be fun
Red Hot Chili Peppers (Blood Sugar Sex Magik) Interesting
No Doubt Best Of collection Meh
Jane's Addiction (Nothing's Shocking) pretty cool
Stevie Ray Vaughn (Texas Flood) YES YES YES
Megadeth (Peace Sells... But Who's Buying) FCUKING AWESMOE

That's how you do the list

Megadeth covering Alice Cooper? Why the living hell would we want to ignore that??????????????? One of my favorite covers of all time! (really!)

I'll probably pick up all 6 of those albums. I'm really interested to hear what No Doubt songs they are going to have. If they pick the right ones, this might be as close to a full ska album as we are going to get. Total Hate off their Beacon Street Collection CD needs to be there as well as Trapped In A Box from their self titled album. Can't wait to see their choices.

It's fun I suppose. But it almost the same thing as the black record. Guys who should be making thrash flirting with the top 40.

Now my take:

Foo Fighters (The Colour and the Shape): Awesome
Red Hot Chili Peppers (Blood Sugar Sex Magik): Awesome
No Doubt Best Of collection: It's about time
Jane's Addiction (Nothing's Shocking): Pretty Good
Stevie Ray Vaughn (Texas Flood): More blues is always a good thing
Megadeth (Peace Sells... But Who's Buying): Not really for me, but I bet you metal heads love it

When I got a text message from the DLC Twitter saying a Megadeth album, I was really hoping for Rust in Peace. Still happy with the announcement but if it'd been that instead of Peace Sells and Hot Fuss instead of Jane's Addiction I'd have just died of joy.

Foo Fighters (The Colour and the Shape)
Red Hot Chili Peppers (Blood Sugar Sex Magik)
No Doubt Best Of collection
Jane's Addiction (Nothing's Shocking)
Stevie Ray Vaughn (Texas Flood)
Megadeth (Peace Sells... But Who's Buying)

Ummm, so this can't be it...can it? I mean, they don't really fit the genres we knew about, do they? That is, I swore on of the albums was defined as 'pop'. So is that Foo Fighters? Do you classify frat-rock as pop?

No Doubt is most certainly pop.

I'll go ahead and give my take as well.

Foo Fighters (The Colour and the Shape) - Know the singles, will probably end up getting the whole album
Red Hot Chili Peppers (Blood Sugar Sex Magik) - Should be pretty interesting and varied, wll probably get the whole album
No Doubt Best Of collection - Same as above
Jane's Addiction (Nothing's Shocking) - Really not much of a fan, but will give it a shot. Maybe pick up "Jane Says" at the very least
Stevie Ray Vaughn (Texas Flood) - Should be some tricky guitar stuff. Will check it out. Three more instrumentals on this one
Megadeth (Peace Sells... But Who's Buying) - Definite yes! Not the biggest Megadeth fan, but love almost all metal

Texas Flood is pretty much one of the best things they could've possibly given me. Only a Hendrix, Zeppelin, Beatles or Muse discography could top this one.

Foo Fighters (The Colour and the Shape)
Red Hot Chili Peppers (Blood Sugar Sex Magik)
No Doubt Best Of collection
Jane's Addiction (Nothing's Shocking)

Damn, like that guy on the 1up show said they really are hammering home the nostalgia for the 20-30 year old crowd. If you were a teenager in the 90s and didn't have at the least a passing affection for one of these bands, well then you didn't live. I'm easily buying all four of these. I'll wait and see for the rest, although I'm likely to get SRV as well.

Foo Fighters (The Colour and the Shape) Not really a fan, but my girlfriend will probably want to buy it
Red Hot Chili Peppers (Blood Sugar Sex Magik) Has the few of their songs that I can actually tolerate, so I might just grab a few
No Doubt (Best Of) Maybe a couple; I have a soft spot for "Spiderwebs"
Jane's Addiction (Nothing's Shocking) Not a chance
Stevie Ray Vaughn (Texas Flood) Great album, should be fun to play
Megadeth (Peace Sells... But Who's Buying) I fucking hate Dave Mustaine, but I'll probably buy it since RB is sorely lacking good/legit metal

Foo Fighters (The Colour and the Shape) might get some songs I like foo fighters singles
Red Hot Chili Peppers (Blood Sugar Sex Magik) Hell fucking yes!
No Doubt Best Of collection I like some of their songs
Jane's Addiction (Nothing's Shocking) can't stand perry ferrel's voice, meh
Stevie Ray Vaughn (Texas Flood) Only heard some of his stuff and it's great
Megadeth (Peace Sells... But Who's Buying) meh I hate metal

my take

Jumping on the bandwagon!

Foo Fighters (The Colour and the Shape) - Hell yeah, a no brainer.
Red Hot Chili Peppers (Blood Sugar Sex Magik) - Cool, but maybe not the whole album.
No Doubt Best Of collection - Will likely get all the tracks.
Jane's Addiction (Nothing's Shocking) - Kind of indifferent to the band. I might grab some of the tracks.
Stevie Ray Vaughn (Texas Flood) - Will probably pick and choose a few tracks.
Megadeth (Peace Sells... But Who's Buying) - Love the band, but not sure I want this whole album. Again, I'll probably pick a couple tracks.

I'd still love it if they'd put the rest of Pinkerton up on the music store. I would play Getchoo over and over and over again, then play Across The Sea, then go back to Getchoo. :(

Also, Colour And The Shape is a great album, but I'd rather they chose a different Foo Fighters album (like One By One, is their best album; fuck its unpopularity >:|).

You must hate early Tool then! Hell 10,000 Days had a bunch of parts that could be considered metal.

Don't forget The Good Life man!

One by One doesn't nearly have the same power as their first 3 albums.

You don't play drums, eh?

People will now know that Grohl redoing all the drum tracks was a good thing, after playing Doll.

Or Why Bother; or Tired of Sex; or Pink Triangle...

Seriously, no song off that album would be bad in Rock Band, except for Butterfly because there's no bass. Hell, put it up anyway. Or switch it out for Only In Dreams, because that song is epic.
birdman said:

Yeah, but it's grungier and has Have It All and Low, which are fucking awesome songs.

My general dislike for My Hero might be playing into this, though. Good Christ that song is overplayed.

I AM JOHN! said:

I'll give you that. I have only recently been able to listen to the song again because of how damn much it used to be played. The drums on it are just sex though.

Foo Fighters (The Colour and the Shape) Will get a few singles
Red Hot Chili Peppers (Blood Sugar Sex Magik) Under the Bridge will be awesome
No Doubt Best Of collection Depends on the songs really
Jane's Addiction (Nothing's Shocking) I would of preferred their next album
Stevie Ray Vaughn (Texas Flood) Lenny is one of my favorite songs, getting that definitely
Megadeth (Peace Sells... But Who's Buying) meh I hate metal

The dorm I lived in for the past two years overlooks the field where our school plays soccer and lacrosse, and every time there's a game the only two fucking songs they play on the loud-as-shit PA system are My Hero and I'm Shipping Off To Boston. I'm amazed that I didn't hang myself.

Tool are not "metal"

No one said they were. Opiate is probably the closest they'll ever come to metal, but recent stuff has taken a heavier tone. Listen to Jambi and tell me there aren't metal elements in the song.

It's heavily distorted, if thats what you mean. But it's closer to prog than metal

Alright. Here's mine.

Foo Fighters (The Colour and the Shape): These guys are a singles band to me, the only record I've ever bought by them is one of the latter ones that I only listened to once, got bored and never revisited. I'll buy the whole thing, though, because I get the feeling that these are the kinds of middling songs that Rock Band does a good job of making you love.

Red Hot Chili Peppers (Blood Sugar Sex Magik): Is this the first Rick Rubin produced track on Rock Band (we need The Cult!). This is one of those records that I got sick of, especially when they played that damn "Under the Bridge" song ever five seconds. But enough time has passed that I can now enjoy the record from the position of nostalgia. Sir Psycho Sexy is going to be awkward to sing at parties.

No Doubt Best Of collection: I kinda hate these guys. Liked Just a Girl okay as pop ska, but hate that hit record that they followed with.

Jane's Addiction (Nothing's Shocking): I'm kinda amazed at how many people hate this record. Perry Farrell has done quite a bit to taint the legacy of his band. But damn if their records weren't all really awesome.

Stevie Ray Vaughn (Texas Flood):
I went to see Indiana Jones and the Last Crusdade instead of going to see Stevie Ray play. Then he died. Stupid.

Megadeth (Peace Sells... But Who's Buying): One of my favorite thrash records back in the day.

Ok, I'll bite.

Foo Fighters (The Colour and the Shape) will probably just buy My Hero and Monkey Wrench
Red Hot Chili Peppers (Blood Sugar Sex Magik) I'm with Flynn on this one, used to listen to it a shitload when I was younger and got sick of the singles. I was also thinking about Sir Psycho Sexy haha. Will buy the entire record
No Doubt Best Of collection No
Jane's Addiction (Nothing's Shocking) Have never really listened to them, but I hate Farrell's voice, so probably no
Stevie Ray Vaughn (Texas Flood) Ashamed to admit I've also never really listened to SRV, but what I have heard (and played in GH) is awesome
Megadeth (Peace Sells... But Who's Buying) bought

It's a cosmic shame that there isn't a pack of songs off of this album.

EDIT: on a not-so-similar note, why has there been no more Radiohead when My Iron Lung was one of the first DLC songs? Or QOTSA? >:|

Not buying RB2? Will they even offer Everlong by itself?

I love the album to death, but if the songs showed up as DLC they would be censored beyond recognition :( I'm hoping the D song that's in RB2 (Master Exploder) isn't too bad.

Fucking is freaking and Shit is stuff; it's thankfully not too egregious. Still, you could do Wonderboy, Tribute, Double-Team, Explosivo, Dio, and Friendship with little or no censorship. :(

No Doubt! Fucking FINALLY! Honestly, they were the only notable omission from the RB2 setlist (Especially after the HMX comment about wanting more female led bands, and ND having a track pack for GH3). Foo Fighters will be cool. My friends will be happy about Blood Sugar sex Magik, but I would have preferred Californication.

All in all this is a pretty solid announcement that should make a lot of music fans happy.

Can any PS3 users here check and see if this is actually real?

Explosivo would be so awesome, but if they were to ever do it I would hope for a new version. The song on the album has a stupid and long intro, and the musical portion is too short.
