When you have to look through nearly 16,000 photos of 1 person, you tend to find at least one picture people will say she looks good in.

This one gets me though:

Probably just the Coulton song for me this week unless I look at the charts for the other two and they look really fun. But Skullcrusher Mountain is just gonna be a blast for singing. So that one is definite.

I saw the Darkest Thicket guys play their song on Rock Band at PAX. I didn't know at first that the guys performing were the actual band, but I thought to myself -- this song is damn good. I think I became an instant fan.

This game needs more indie and that indie needs to be Wolf Parade.

Or The Shins.

Or just this:

Modern Indie Pack 1:
Wolf Parade - Soldier's Grin
Wolf Parade - Grounds For Divorce
Vampire Weekend - A-Punk
Vampire Weekend - Boston
The Shins - Australia
The Shins - Fighting in a Sack

COMON HARMONIX!

We need more Canadian indie in general. Wolf Parade, Broken Social Scene, Metric, Stars, Arcade Fire, Wintersleep, Bedouin Soundclash, The Trews, k-os (if we ever get k-os, I will personally deliver a bouquet of roses to HMX's office) etc.

Take her out to a nice dinner, discuss your fears and aspirations, then take her pack to her place where you have consensual sex in the missionary position? I know exactly what you mean.

There's something horribly fucking wrong with that!

Metal is way better than some talentless broad's cleavage!

You people need to get laid!

Nah, it's okay... It only gets creepy when you start talking about her pink pubic hair

You are missing out then on such a silly little quibble to have. It is like saying you wont by songs sung by women either. Or maybe songs that are made by a certain country. My Generation and Young Man Blues are fucking amazing. Summertime Blues is fun as well, but the whole band experience wtih Young Man and My Gen are just some of the best the game can do. And if you want epic drums, Young Man Blues.

My quibble on these songs is that they always have a superior studio versions behind them. Every song I hear live differs from the album version (which is only to be expected). But what generally makes it worse is how most dumb down, or change parts for pretty much no reason other then variety.

It's like when I watched a Rock Band segment on Forigner and how they said they don't even know how to play certain parts of the song Juke Box Hero anymore because they change it every night. That is bullshit in my eyes. Probably because I am really anal about minute details, but I can hear the single missed notes, or slight rhythm change. For those reasons (to me) live music gets lumped into being not only unpurchasable, but also unlistenable.

I hope the Who pack was the end, but being that Guitar Hero 3 DLC got some only leads me to believe that more will eventually come out.

And sometimes the live version is superior. The thing with the Who pack is the raw energy that is in the live versions, a manic quality that the studio versions just dont have. I agree that with some bands the live versions suck or are dumbed down, but then there are live versions of songs that are superior to the studio ones. (Watch U2 Rattle and Hum for proof of this. Best version EVER of Bad and With or Without You).

I buy your reasoning for skipping SOME live stuff, just not all of it. If they said "Hey we are getting Panama from Van Halen." I would be excited, but if it was that terrible live version they fubared last tour(its online, look for it, its atrocious), then I would see reason to complain.

Look! A few posts near each other that actually talk about music or the game and not some marginally talented girls pubic hair!

Trews yes!

also how bout some RAINE MAIDA (Yellow Brick Road, PLEASE!) ..or hell, even some Our Lady Peace (The entire Clumsy album would be GODLY).

RB definately needs more Canadian Content.

So, despite not being a singer at all, I managed to edge my way through Hard Vocals. Strangely I had an easier time with Foreplay/Long Time than I did with Should I Stay or Should I Go. Even though I was only managing 3/4 stars no matter the tier.

I could go try Expert, hope to clear all instrument careers before RB2, but.... like that'll happen.

I think it's because Mick Jones isn't really a singer so he's just fucking everywhere when he sings, which explains the crazy pitch changes.

Being an actual singer is actually harder in some regards, because we do things with our voices to project that can fuck with the microphone. The Rock Band mics are much friendlier to the "I like to sing soft so I won't embarass myself" crowd.

*technical note* also even when there is vibrato in a song it usually isn't mapped on the vocal track (because it would be really hard to do that) but there are just some things (especially in Boston songs) where you really need to use it to sing in the range he gets.

As a musician this pisses me off, music is supposed to be live. If you can make a track in the studio and then suck live, then you are a bad musician. Period. Not to mention the fact this entire game is based on emulating the live playing experience, there should be MORE live tracks, not less. Thank God it's not even more authentic so we can play each part individually while the background shows a flourescent lit, white and tan recording studio.

Actually that might be a funny challenge.

I totally agree. I failed In Bloom on Expert because I was singing a bit too much like Cobain. It's sad, too. The only way I can pass the song is to sing it as if I were in choir again, which takes all the fun out of it.

Same thing with Last by NIN. You're totally supposed to rock out to that song but for vocals you have to hold back the whole time or else you'll fail. You can't get into it.

Same with March of the Pigs. Screaming at the top of your lungs like Trent = bad to the game.

As I said before you can apply that to any of the songs. If I sang When You Were Young like I do with my band when we cover it, I would fail in Rock Band straight away...except for the bridge I guess.

It is really funny to sing "English choir boy" style on some of the songs, especially creep. Kinda like You Can't Always Get What You Want.

Also if you are trying to sound like Cobain you deserve to fail, because of all the things he sucked at, singing would have to come second to living.

Too soon?

Edit: I saw this google ad on the bottom...and I feel like I can blame this on all the posts about those no-talent Costanza rape-victims that have been mentioned recently.

It's never too soon to make a Kurt Cobain joke. Picking a significant other was third, btw.

Quite frankly I'm disappointed in you. I was expecting you to say "Of course it's not too soon to make a Kurt Cobain joke, that's what all of his music was anyway".

I'm still shell-shocked from Costanza's remarks. Shell-shocked and aroused.

Neat, but his comments are almost useless. When a top player goes through and continually goes "you should 100% this first try" "Easy as hell" "no reason not to 100%" it doesn't do me much good. Would rather have comments from someone who's paying attention to something other than how hard it is for an expert player.

OK, overly bitching from me...

They cut out his last line:

"Uh oh, fifteen minutes to Judge Wapner."
