Nah, most of the questions were actually related to what the panel was about - their history. Although, one guy did get up and ask them why they aren't releasing the full 360 Rock Band 2 bundle when the standalone games/instruments come out, and all they really replied with was "We're doing the best we can".

Someone asked if we'd ever see Frequency or Amplitude on XBLA/PSN, and they said that they wanted that to happen but those IPs are owned by Sony now.

Were there any cameras there filming the whole panel? I know there's the official PAX DVD that comes out later, but that's... I'd rather watch a stream of it funded by ads just once.

Also, Katty Perry. Not just hate. But with a passion. It's like the Disney Channel attempt at being raunchy, a kiss on the lips is as far as it'll go. On the radio too much. Only this and the Archers Theme have had me actually diving for the off button when I hear it. Actually, no, I that should be our national anthem. But that's something else entirely.

I didn't see any cameras :(

I did take a shitty quality picture of the panel:

I forget all their names, but Dan Teasdale is on the far left and Sean Baptiste is on the far right.

EDIT: I found the names of the other three on the panel:

2nd from the left is Dan Schmidt, in the middle is Ryan Lesser (art lead), and 2nd from the right is Heather Wilson (audio producer).

There's hardly any guitar in either of those songs. I know that doesn't necessarily mean they have no place in the game, but they should definitely not be put in before any of the 12 I listed.
 
I guess I just use RB for drums and vocals mostly now, as I recently bought an electric guitar and use it to satisfy my guitar-playing needs. It's still really fun to play songs on guitar, mind you.

Edit: How about Princes of the Universe? Man, nobody does a soundtrack like Queen.

Princes is great and would be one of the first songs I would include in the second Queen pack.

Since I didn't bring RB with me, and the fact that I've been partying pretty much every night, I haven't been able to keep up with this thread that much.

My drumset looks like this, after several months of intense drumming (since April). I highly recommend putting kneepads on the red and green panels (QM set) if you have the.....problem that almost everybody has...you know. I had to sock mod my yellow panel because I cant find another way to cover it. The blue one is the only survivor.

Another one for Queen pack but add Radio Gaga as they did a great version of it on Live Aid, Somebody to love, Your my best friend, Breakthru and I want to break free.

I personally dont care if some of their tracks are "lite" I can sit thru the who album and go to sleep as the drummer numerous times. Freddy is a legend so gimmie some f* queen.

Its Rock Band = QUEEN!

Rock Band is compatible with any of the guitar controllers that they've put out, so you're good to go for the Xplorer.

Never would have guessed that it was a legal issue holding Moving Pictures up. Maybe the label didn't think they were getting enough and decided to postpone it at the last minute?

Yeah. But there's limitations. That touch pad won't work on RB2, solo buttons probably won't work in the same way in GH:WT as they do in RB, most likely just duplicates like in GH:A

Exactly - it's normal, it's just that she's treating it as if it's not in her song.

This sucks big time. If this turns out to be true, then we might have to wait even longer for Moving Pictures. I hope this gets sorted out soon.

You can almost safely assume he meant Xbox 360 when asking about the Guitar Hero 2 controller. GH2 was only out on two platforms (PS2 and 360), and the PS2 GH2 controller is the same thing as the PS2 GH1 controller.

The Xplorer should definitely work with RB2. It worked with RB1, and they say all instruments will now be compatible, so I'd be shocked if it didn't.

Oh, you think it's to do with the song itself? Oh no, it's because of YYZ. Not a technical reason - but a legal one. Because of the lack of vocals, that makes it fall outside the current patent contracts and licensing: and it's a legal threat from Konami and Activision because they have different patents licensed for the the GH series with and without vocals because of the change in recognition.


It's bullshit, but it's a conspiracy theory damn it.
