Tell me about it, my interested in Rock Band is waning extremely fast. I guess 10 months with 5 weeks of shit DLC is about how long it takes for it to start getting stale. RB2 better be bloody good.

I think that Ozzy's deal to be a character in GH:WT included timed exclusivity. It would explain why Paranoid is one of the songs that doesn't export from RB1. He has a writing credit on that song, and his bands are also conspicuously absent from the RB2 set list.
GH: Van Halen seems almost certain at this point, so there goes that one. See: GH: Metallica and Enter Sandman not exporting. GH: Aerosmith didn't affect the export deal because it was a cover of a song that Aerosmith didn't write.

Rock Revolution has Rock Band's number.
 
There's got to be something wrong with the drums though. Notice how NONE of the footage there was of drum gameplay. All of it was 5 line guitar. Hell, they haven't even officially shown the drum kit, only spy shots - surely if it's the most realistic one, you want to actually show the god damn thing.

At least the 4 inputs for ion actually resemble drums and aren't a Wallace and Gromit drum kit of crackers and cheese.

They did show the drums I think. That weird setup where the kick pedal is an icon in the middle rather than just a line like common sense would have it be.

Safe to say, I ain't interested in their own drum kit. And what the hell at them not making their own guitar, it's like they wanna be bargain basement.

Fair enough - it might be an easier difficulty. Just looking at this E3 screen, there's 7 lanes for notes - but you're right, kick is an icon.
 
Looking at Play-Asia, Konami apparently region locked Dance Dance Revolution on 360. So whatever, I probably won't be playing it this year. I'm stuck with boring old Rock Band and Guitar Hero.
 
Damn, singing is quite a bit easier with a proper microphone. I managed to stumble through Hard vocals with the 360 headset, then bought a logitech mic. Finished Expert vocals in 3 sessions over 2 days and only failed Epic and Reptilia.
 
PAX pack now works on PS3, just redownload via your download history. Strange that they never even announced it was fixed but then again they never announced it was broken either.

And if you are the singer with the "hardcore" player has the host you will always get booted from the room. People just assume singers don't have DLC. Grrrrrrr

I kind of wish they still did DLC like that.

If you are talking about the list that had Sublime, The Haunted, and Harvey Danger, it was already established that it was a wish list with "semi" confirmed songs by somebody at scorehero.

Really? Odd. Guess that explains why most the games I join online don't have singers.
 
So I had a dream last night that the All That Remains pack was out, and I logged on to the Marketplace and went to the new release section to get it. When I got there, All That Remains wasn't the only thing, and there were pages and pages of new content. I'd guess I paged through about 100 or so new singles that were out. I don't remember many of them, but there were new Hives tracks and some various metal bands.

Unfortunately I startled myself awake from the awesome, and therefore didn't get to see any of the charts. :(

RB2 can't come soon enough!

Michael Jackson most likely unless he had to flog them off to pay his court fees ;), Eddie performed on the track for free and thought that none of his band mates especially David Lee Roth would notice the good deed, turned out to be one of the biggest songs of '82/'83 lol

Van Halen's already confirmed to be a GH exclusive band, same with the Eagles, Aerosmith... and some other band I'm forgetting, I think. I'm rather sure Enter Sandman didn't export because of how Metallica licenses songs in RB, and how it would be incompatible with the song transfer. Who knows with Paranoid.

My memory is fuzzy, but before the RB2 track list was announced, there were two leaked list. One was 100% right, the other one had a bunch of songs plus some that didnt make it.

Are those the 20 extra songs?

Pretty much. So far of all the leaked shit, there hasn't been surprises that WEREN'T on a leaked list somewhere. Even super-protective Neversoft got their song list out as we chip away at it, day by day.

I find it hard to believe people doubt the authenticity of it.

There were only 8 songs on the first 60-song leak that aren't on the RB2 disc.

28) Alright Now (Free)

44) Bandages (Hot Hot Heat)

People doubt it because the person who leaked it claimed it was from and announced at PAX. Of course, the 20 song list was nowhere in sight.

There was interview with HMX and the guy basically didn't deny the list. It would have been easy to say "that's a falsification."

That's where the whole "We don't comment on speculation and rumors" thing comes into play. If they bother to deny things then it just makes it seem like the ones they don't deny are true. Thus only the most ludicrous rumors tend to get outright denied.

Metallica wanted sales-based royalties instead of just flat fees up front. Now every act gets that.

Hah, I'd consider that were it not that I moved out of the Orlando area recently and into Jensen Beach.
 
All you Expert-level singers (which may just be Shag, but whatever), much respect. I've been trying to get the Expert achievements on all instruments before RB2 comes out, which means powering through Vocals. No idea how, but I've so far 3-starred my way to tier 7, stuck at Are You Gonna Be My Girl and Next To You. Got a week to clear out the last 12 songs. Not too worried, I do better on later vocal tiers than early ones. :lol
