The more I look around the menus, the more annoyed I get with the scores. There is no way to view expert guitar scores, or hard drum scores. In quickplay it just lists your highest score on a song, whatever instrument or difficulty it may have been.

The online leaderboards sort it by instrument, but doesn't show what difficulty it was or the star rating.

Fucking weak, Harmonix.

Same as RB1

Woo, gold starred Greatest Man That Ever Lived.

Not that it's a hard song, just that I rarely play Guitar. Might have got gold stars before, actually not too sure...

It definitely shows which difficulty you got the score on in RB1. Don't know about star rating though.

EDIT: I'm guessing you meant for quickplay and wasn't talking about the leaderboards.

Yeah the leaderboards in RB1 showed the difficulty, but not the star rating. But since there is no solo career anymore, it's either solo band or quickplay, and neither one displays your high scores conveniently.

There is no colored check mark next to the song on the leaderboard?

I'm sure there will be a patch by the time the PS3 version comes out to easily fix minor issues

Chop Suey expert guitar = WTF :lol

Yeah, amazingly, that's one of the only two songs I failed first try, and I've tried everything but Steely Dan. Definitely ambushed by that one.
The other one was Panic Attack failed at 73%.
Also, the timing on the Allman Brothers song is WEIRD. I hate that song with a passion, except the solos.
Nap time now.

Not that I've seen.

Wahey, Mitch Benn. He needs a song in Rock Band as a comedy one- oh wait british nevermind move on.

Yeah, that's another crime against music. :D

Hey, you know yesterday BB was talking about how the Halo 3 thread guys did meetup things... the Eurogamer Expo next month, don't know if GH:WT or RB2 are there for sure, but pretty much every publisher is there. UK folks fancy it? I'm probly gonna go anyway, so...

I might be persuaded. What day of the week is it on?

So long as they consider it an issue. Rock Band 1 was filled with obvious shit that never got fixed.

I'm loving the challenges. Especially since you can save and quit in the middle of them.

The score displaying issue is odd, wonder why they did that? Doesn't hinder the experience for me, but I can see how it would really bother some.

I had all of Crimes Against Music (the series) recorded. I lost it. :(
Ah well, at least I have the albums.

Tues 28th/Wed 29th.

However, note it goes on to 10pm: Rupert of EG was saying that it's so people can get out of work at 5, still pop along and play games.
Activision aren't listed on the site, but I'm pretty sure they're there.

god damnit I can't get my lag offset right.

I try to use my values for #1 and I am missing easy notes all over. Then I try to calibrate, but it keeps giving me radically different values (video offset went from 80 ms, to 40 ms, to 60, to 80, to 50......)

Uggg I need the new guitar so bad. Electronic LEDs/Speakers do a much better job at detection then my slow assed thumb.

I'm not really a hardcore ScoreHero kinda guy, but I'm pretty good at these games. I've never understood why the difficulty attached to a score matters, as long as the score is higher they're higher on the leaderboard, period.

Is it more just an informational thing? I can't think of a reason to care.

For what it's worth, I think they made the lag calibration worse in RB2 :/ The slider with the constant clicking was perfect for A/V sync issues, much better than the video lag system they have now. Unless this new system somehow allows for more accuracy?

wow i'm pissed.

I just did two hours worth of challenges with this other band, then I get booted and apparently none of that progress goes to me. I have to redo all those challenges again before I can start unlocking the rest of the songs. UGH.

Echoing the calibration issues. There's definitely something up with it, although the manual has some suggestions so maybe that'll fix it.

I'd like to know when looking at Song A for example, if my 250,000 high score was done when I was playing on hard or expert. Also when comparing with friends, it was nice on RB1 to see what difficulty they had used when they reached a high score. I might get frustrated trying to beat my friends score on Song A, not realizing he got it using hard difficulty instead of expert.

Arghhh this thread is too big so I appologize for asking this question that has likely been already asked.

How does the transferring from Rock Band 1 work? Do you have to have a unique copy of Rockband 1 or can you borrow a friends' to pay the $5 and transfer songs?

I really probably shouldn't buy Rock Band 2 what with all the other games coming out this fall, but I don't know... I've had a fair amount of fun with it at friends' houseses and I'm feeling the urge to spend money on something stupid...

As I bitched about earlier, that was my biggest problem with the game so far. They had an awesome lag calibrator before, how did they mess this one up?

I guess my only suggestion is that if you know what your RB1 offset was, set audio offset to 0ms and your video offset to the value that shows up in RB1. On my DLP I'm using 25ms video offset, and 0ms audio offset (using stereo sound through optical cable) and it feels just like RB1.

As long as you have any Rock Band 1 disc, you can export for $5.

That's just stupid. Imagine if Burnout Paradise did that. Harmonix must be trying to challenge Criterion in the "stupid design choices that undermine the game" battle.

a while back someone posted a link which showed your most played game on your gamertag..

anyone still have that link?

I'm curious to see if RB has surpassed GHIII as my most played game yet.

Also, so it doesn't seem like all my posts are bitching about the score display situation... The lag calibration worked fine for me on my 52" sharp LCD. Calibrated it once as soon as I got the game and it was spot on.

Hmm actually maybe I won't be getting Rock Band 2 today. The Best Buy website in Canada doesn't seem to have any listing for the Rock Band 2 bundle. Only the game itself for 360. Maybe they haven't gotten it in yet? Weird...

the bundle comes out the same time as the ps3 version

They pushed this one out the door as quickly as they could to beat GH:WT to the shelf while still working on the PS3. I'm sure there will be some refinement and a patch of something as simple as leaderboard displays

GET!

Is anywhere selling the RB2 guitar yet? I NEEEEEED the lag calibrator. actually I may not play till I get it :lol

OH, Who the fuck am I kinding :lol

Rock Band 2 bundle isn't until October.

How big is download for the original Rock Band tracks and how big is it?
The DL is like 178kb or 718 KB. The song files are like 1.25GB or so. You can delete individual songs too to reduce that

Kevtones said:
Only 1.25 gigs?

:D Trading in my Rock Band Game disc then :D
Its actually 1.6 gigs see above. I remembered it wrong

Has anyone confirmed that the tracks keep all the crowd vocals etc?

anyone having a hard time hearing the drums when you do fills? It's really quiet, I have to slam super hard to hear anything, and even then it's pretty quiet.

is there a way to adjust fill volume or something?

yea same. I do horrible fills though so I actually like it.

I risk pointing out the obvious, but you said how big is the "download", and it's not a download, it's an export right from your disc. So make sure you export them before you trade it.
