I've decided I need some Faker as DLC. Damn you Triple J and your overplaying of them, it's your fault I've got This Heart Attack stuck in my head right now.

Why don't we have Bush DLC?

"Everything Zen"
"Little Things"
"Comedown"
"Machinehead"
"Glycerine"
"Greedy Fly"
"Swallowed"
"Cold Contagious"
"Mouth"

I've been wondering this for a while. Everything Zen would work SO well on everything. Glycerine is a blast to sing, though I'm not sure it would be that fun on the others. Comedown and Swallowed could be decent to play.

ihave officially hit my first wall in guitar expert.. shakler's revenge

edit: I stll havent quite figured out how hmx decides what song goes where... there are some weird jumps in difficulty back and forth

What is the best (easiest) song to get the 100% solo with the solo buttons achievement?

Time We Had. The solo is way at the end, separated from all the regular guitarwork. But somehow I think you have to tap only, no strumming.... I strummed with the solo buttons and it didn't take.

Not releasing them in time for the RB2 PS3 and GHWT would be pointless. Assuming the 20-pack has RB2-like quality songs and artists (ie, mostly anything from the Rolling Stones, Radiohead, Lynyrd Skynyd, Iron Maiden, etc), and it launches with the other RB2 SKUs, it steal at least some of the limelight from Guitar Hero. Otherwise, what other purpose would it serve?

If you just bought the PS3 version, why would you want the bonus tracks straight away? I know if it was me, I'd rather have a bit of time with the new tracks I'd just got, then have something to look forward to. Those DLC tracks ain't gonna distract from the release of a whole game, if anything GH:WT would overshadow them.

Depends on what the songs are. Honestly, it does seem to make sense that it'll introduce more people to the Rock Band store. Nothing is more depressing than going online and not seeing Still Alive, Promised Land or Charlene not selectable. It's goddamn retarded.

I got it on RB1's "When You Were Young" The Killers

However you do have to wait until the end of the song to get the achievement. Also I only did it on one of the two solos and still got it.

I'm of the same opinion. I'd probably be happy if Moving Pictures was actually released, but this is Week 6 of not even considering any DLC. If they announce another week of metal I'm gonna be bitching like there's no tomorrow. Give me the goddamn Stevie Ray Vaughn, just something for some variety!

Hell, give me that The Offspring pack that was rumoured a while back and I'll shut up for another 6 weeks. I promise!
To be fair, we had three consecutive non-metal weeks (Locksley, PAX Pack, Devo), with one of them actually being worthy of a purchase (Locksley).

I do agree with you though, enough of the metal unless it's old Metallica or Iron Maiden.

I'm surprised that anyone thinks they'll be able to pick and choose songs from the AC/DC expansion. I just don't see Walmart selling DLC in their stores, so it's likely a disc.
Harmonix will likely sell the AC/DC "expansion" for $29.99 and include various documentaries of AC/DC like GH Aerosmith. And they'll have AC/DC branded merchandise in the game.

And since Live at Donington consists of 18 songs, they'll probably sell it as a mega-album for $29.99. I don't see why they wouldn't sell it as DLC, it'd be more money in their pockets.

And even if they don't, the AC/DC expansion will probably have an export feature and it'd be much cheaper to actually rent it and export than it would to buy off the store, and that wouldn't be a bad thing.

There's no way you'll be able to rent it and export the songs. A code will be involved if you want to export, like the code for the 20-pack.
The only reason there was a rental loophole for RB1 is that the game had no unique disc serial numbers readable by the game, and no codes in the manual. The reason for the fee was that it was negotiated after the deals to get the songs on the disc were already done. Those deals didn't cover export.
I agree on $29.99 being likely, but export will be pre-planned, and free.

They'd be insane to put an export feature on a new disc, if this "expansion" did happen, and have them play in RB1 and 2. Everybody would just rent it.

Which is why Harmonix would put a redemption code in the back of the instruction manual to allow a one time expert.

"Hey guys! Money? We don't want that!"

And a hotel update. I know around 20 other bloggers are situated in this hotel. I do not know who they are and how to get in touch with them.
Hrm.

On some level I'm really hoping the 20-Free pack is a bunch of indie stuff. Harmonix has said they want to blow up more indie bands via Rock Band. They aren't top-tier so they can't really be on the disc (except for a the usual few) but a 20-pack of all indie stuff would be amazing. I would kill for The Hold Steady.

DING DING DING! Indie bands, like Radiohead! Since they seperated from Capitol they are technically an indie band now since they have no label. So yeah, make those 20 songs radiohead songs, or at least some of them.

Also, what exactly does the "Awesome Detection" do? And the "tweak for live performances" cheat? I can really figure out if they do anything at all.

As for why we will probably get Live at Donnington instead of an old album is a masters issue I think. Most of the remasters of older AC/DC says "remixed from the original 2 track mixdown masters" meaning that they probably dont have separate masters for each instrument.

Same for Maiden. I would LOVE to get some Maiden masters, but I dont think their earlier stuff has all instruments seperate. That might be why GH III got original Number of the Beast and RB got the cover(with terrible vocalist).

JonathanEx, could you please, please, please ask someone at Harmonix -or EA- if Moving Pictures is going to be released...someday? A simple "Yes it will" is enough for me. It's been almost a month since the whole "We have problems with it" deal and, as a Rush fan, I need to know what's the status on the DLC. We know there are some legal stuff surrounding the release, but I want to know if it's going to be fixed.

Thanks in advance!

Heh I won a song from that stride thing. Thx for mentioning that. I was playing drums today and to my surprise there are actually drum solos now. I didnt think they had those implemented. Trees has one.

Btw if anyone wants to play shoot me an invite. Im online but not actually playing. I put the game on no fail*, chose some a playlist of like 40 randomly. Im just letting it play to listen to some music.

* no fail while being the vocalists doesnt cut out any parts. If you choose guitar/drums/bass that section will be silent.

I'll be home for lunch in about 10 mins, add me to your friends list and I might have a quick bash with you before I head back to work. Gamertag is saunderez.

Thx for the games guys. I didn't realize how worn out I was until I played songs like Ramblin Man. I normally can maintain that speed, but my arms felt spent.

so I just saw this posted on another board:

you can plug the bass drum pedel into the new strat, and use it to activate overdrive. cool feature they haven't advertised at all

is this true?

Speaking of which, whatever happened with the ethernet port thing that was supposed to be used on the 360 Xplorer? Did anything ever get made for it?

About Guitar Praise...
High scores are recorded per song, per instrument and per (difficulty) level.
It's pretty sad when Rock Band 2 can't even measure up to Guitar Praise.

Also, we already got a batch of "bonus tracks" on disc for RB2 and they gave us shit like Visions.
Major acts for the 20, please. kthnx.

Guitar Praise also has a rockin' multiplayer mode where you can unleash attacks. Get with the times, Harmonix.
It makes sense. Wasn't Battle Mode one of the biblical plagues?

Sorry about being a no show, my net connection was down :(

Stupid el cheapo ISP grr.....

i really wish rock band had something like geo wars 2 where you saw the scores of all the friends around you when you select a song. i don't even push for high scores at all but it would definitely make me give it a shot.

I agree, I'm finding Battle of the Bands awesome because I have something to aim for. Not so much in any other mode.

Yeah, that's a feature I'd have really appreciated as well. It really does seem like they've taken a step back regarding score-displaying.
I wanna see dem stars!

That would definitely be nice. Wish it had what that new guitar hero is doing where you can go straight to the leaderboards after the song ends. That's pretty cool.

The leaderboards update so slow because of EA's servers that going straight to the leaderboards would be useless :lol
