QUICK QUESTION!

Are the 360 version and the PS3 versions of the instruments compatible with each other?

Survey says...!

*buzz*

So sorry, the highest answer was "no, except for the mic".

Lips should be better than Singstar though, on account of it not being named "Singstar".
"Lips" as a name does not conjure images of singing while "SingStar" does. I mean, it says right there: SingStar.

heh, nope. I think that proprietary input methods have something to do with it, kind of like controllers throughout time. (Adaptors don't count)

Lips is an awful title, but Singstar is an awful game. I'm obviously not predicting Lips to be a hit, but it sure as hell can't be less appealing to me then Singstar.

Holy shit. YYZ is insane. By some sort of divine intervention I actually beat it on expert drums.

Love Spreads is the best song ever released for Rock Band.

I hope I am being stupid. But I desperately wanted Shoot The Runner and Bandages for the UK store and it aint there!!!!!!!!

Is it just me or are they missing for us brits?

Is it possible to change difficulties in the middle of the Endless set? I doubt I can play the heavy songs on Expert and I would hate to run through all the early songs on hard.

Did you check the X-Box Live Marketplace? Don't look in the Music store

Damn, Sorrow is a bitch on bass. So much crazy alt strumming.

Date With The Night looks wicked. So getting it with my Stride code tomorrow.

*blinks* You've yet to get that song? Man, you've been seriously missing out.

Bass is awesome on it too. It's basically the guitar chart. If you told me it was a rhythm guitar I'd believe you; it sounds like it could just be a guitar with an effect put on it. YYYs don't have a bass player in their typical lineup so it's possible.

I called it.

This raises another discussion; how many songs have you all wanted to be in the game, and then had made available? Date With The Night is one that springs to mind for me, Greatest Man That Ever Lived is another.

I predicted Rust in Peace for the metal album they said they'd release, obviously it was Peace Sells but i was close! :P

KSE My Curse :) Thats pretty much it.

Interstate Love Song was the first song I asked for (and I got it a week later).
I'm still waiting on "That Song" by Big Wreck. :(

excuse me, but does Rockband 1/2 only have two Soundgarden songs between them? If so, I'm appalled. I want Badmotorfinger in it's entirety. >:(

further confirmation of the uk rb2 november release

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PzR7gIIvog8

edit: to contribute to the current "wishes fulfilled" discussion:

Living on a Prayer, The Middle, most of the Boston pack (that was a dream come true), Our Truth, and War Pigs.

I think tomorrow's announcement is going to be interesting; if it's an album, I'd say getting an album for each of the next 6 weeks (at least, I wouldn't be surprised if they offload three of them for GHWT's release) is virtually guaranteed.

I think at the least they will release the Foo Fighters album around GHWT time.

And Live at Donington as well. Releasing on the Tuesday before GHWT along with the new Black Ice CD makes too much sense.

I requested all of the offspring songs chosen (hammerhead not counted) + sorrow. There was like maybe 3 offspring songs that I also requested that didn't make the cut.

Lead Guitar would be Man-at-Arms with Rhythm being played by Teela.

Gotta have some Teela.

Teela.jpg

I actually was thinking that, but then I was like "Bah! Nobody wants to be Man-At-Arms. The dude is wearing a trough on his chest." Evil Lynne however, she was a definite consideration.

Hmm... this has me thinking. If the lady playing Baroness in the upcoming live-action G.I. Joe movie isn't sickeningly hot then... then... I just don't know what I'll do. That would be one of the most epic failures of all time.

Fuck, I'm at the office. Is it bad form to slip in to the loo for a wank?

This news is too good to pass up.

Didn't you ever watch Big Train? You shouldn't have to go to another room to have a wank. You should be able to just do it at your desk.

Dexter isn’t my favorite show by any means, but I do like it quite a bit. I’m not one of those people from the Emmy thread, aghast that the show didn’t take home numerous awards — to be honest, I still don’t think it deserves any. While I do agree that the premise is predictable and old hat, Dexter himself just makes the show for me. None of the other characters resonate nearly as much — I just find Michael C. Hall utterly charming. It’s an enjoyable show (that had a sub-par second season) with great promotional materials (like my avatar). And yes, a fantastic opening sequence.

Damn. I agree completely with you. This was entirely reasonable and nice. You have no place on the Internet with that sort of tone.

I'm still saying we need to have a series based on Henry: Portrait of a Serial Killer though.

They should scrap bass and add rhythm, so people can have fun.

My first instinct is to tell you to go die in a flaming pile of shit. However that's just coming from my angry place reserved for anyone who disparages bass. In reality they should have both. The switch should be whether you're playing lead or rhythm guitar and bass should be acknowledged as it's own instrument and not "alternate guitar part".

Edit: it occurs to me that this has already been done in a way. Sleater-Kinney don't have a bassist, but they fill that role with guitar.

Well, in regards to that, this is what you're stuck with.

Wow. She looks terrible in the publicity shot released. Not to mention absolutely nothing like Baroness. I cannot imagine how this is considered salvageable at this point.

It's not hard. Find someone unknown ungodly hot Russian lady with black hair and a body that will look great in a form-fitting black outfit. Give her huge glasses that somehow manage to make her look significantly hotter. Even if she can't act that well you've got it down then. The looking hot and having a sexy accent are the main aspects of the character. The rest is just having sex with a dude who has a metal face and being vigilant not to turn into a snake.

See I have a rule that made me have no hope in that film from the start:

Assume any movie with a Wayans brother will be terrible.

Shoot the Runner is a pretty fun basic song.

I just have to force myself to start with the left hand on the alternating parts, though.

Instead of a Russian you get a British woman, should get that woman from Hitman! Olga Kurylenko is pretty hot.

Teenage Riot
Hanging on the Telephone
Alex Chilton
PDA (well, maybe not that one but an Interpol song)
A Sleater Kinney song (but not that one, blar)
Everlong
many more

the majority of the songs so far have been stuff I very much enjoy, might not be the number one songs off my head but they turned out great choices.

I normally make that assumption, but then Requiem For a Dream proved that I can't rely on that metric alone. I think, however, that it is the sole exception.

Getting back on topic for a brief moment, why is everyone so in love with "Bandages"? I'm just not getting it from the video I've seen. I'm still trying to decide what to devote my free Stride song to, but at this point, well... I think I might just wait to see what's announced on Friday. Some decent songs, but nothing that's blowing my skirt up.

Also much lamenting of going with a thoroughly uninteresting Sleater-Kinney song. I love the band, but it's just... not doing anything for me. Sometimes it feels like Harmonix has a special machine devoted to choosing the worst possible song by a band or, a least, not a very good one.

Yeah, that song doesn't really do much for me either. Guitar doesn't sound that interesting, and the vocals come off a little grating to me.

Speaking of that Stride give away.

*finally checks e-mail*

Hey, I r winnar!

I don't really care for Bandages either, but Love Spreads is really awesome.

Crazily enough I was thinking that "Miserlou" would be a great song for GH. It was officially announced for GH2 a few days later. Upon playing it I quickly changed my mind.

Otherwise no terribly specific or left-field choices though I was saying we need some Sleater-Kinney in response to Bikini Kill being on-disc.
