Federer has the monkey off his back now, and in doing so can now be called the GOAT. I think he'll be much more relaxed going forward, all the head games behind him. I can see him winning 3-4 more majors before it's all said and done.

Now that Federer has the US Open & French Open titles and Nadal has the Wimbledon & Aus(?), how do the scores add up? I remember one of the commentators were saying that Federer's world #2 status was under threat by Murray during Roland Garros? If that's the case, top 3 must be pretty close!

Will be interesting to see what happens at Wimbledon. If Nadal can't play or doesn't make the final, that's a lot of points to lose. Fed could close in on #1 again by winning Wimbledon.

Word. Nadal and Federer are 2070 points apart. Winning Wimbledon is 2000 and 2nd place is 1400. So if they trade places at Wimbledon, that's 1200 points difference made up between them, which would make the gap about 800, half of which can be made up before-hand since Nadal is not playing Queen's (450? points) and Federer will probably still play Halle.

I'm sure Roger's tasting it and that's going to manifest itself in his game. It's up to him whether it comes out as nerves or as determination.

I really believe Federer has gone through all the nerves in getting through the French. There was huge pressure on him after Nadal went out because everyone looked to him as the guy to beat. It made him tense up in matches but he gutted his way through it. Kind of like when you're constipated and then after you take a huge fucking dump you feel 100% better. That's exactly how Fed feels now, all the shit is gone, he's good to go.

Do you guys think Nadal's injury is something serious or just precautionary?

That's pretty craptastic. The robot part of her head is bulkier and farther out from where her "flesh" should be.

I hope it's not serious. The Federer/Nadal rivalry needs to live on for there to be any meaning!

And yeah, blame waning budgets for the poor makeup :(

Now that Federer has gone and tied Sampras, he might as well go on and win Wimbledon so he can hold the record by himself. I'll be rooting for him and Djokovic.....but Djokovic moreso. :)
