No Djoko seems to be losing the plot. Dammit. :((

Edit: How Dull even make some of these shots is beyond me. Annoyingly good.

When your serve suddenly improves 10MPH in a tournie, when you have basically just quit out of many tournies for so many various injuries no one can keep up, had knee problems (right) basically every year, but are still able to be the best and most hulkish looking guy out there..... whatever.

No one will ever convince me Nadal is even remotely clean just like no one will ever convince me Lebron is clean. Joker at least seems to play by some approximation of the rules. Bleh. Looking now like Nadal will take command. Yadda yadda. Tennis is boring at the French for men. The women's match was more interesting.

Borg is prolly asleep at this point.

Nadal looks as fresh as Armstrong during a late mountain stage!

Well the narrative is back to Nadal equaling/surpassing Federer.

It's all but laid in stone. And I can't wait it. The so-called greatest ever is Nadal? LOL. He will have doping accusations follow him to the grave imho. Just like Lance and crew even before they had major accusations.

I've got more serious allegations -that clay is bullshit ;)

Yep, dude could go 10 sets if he needed to. I have no doubt about it.

If we just take doping out of the conversation well then Nadal is purely amazing for a endurace tennis player. I will never ever believe the greatest tennis player ever is Nadal. He simply doesn't have the gifts that Sampras, Borg, and Federer had. He runs around and hits everything back at you. Great.

I will say I have liked parts of his game, they have improved. But he still is just a hulking dog out there returning everything you will ever put back to him.

I saw plenty just as salty over Sharapova winning. Don't really get it, and I've been salty a lot on other sports.
I have favorite tennis players and whatnot, but I've never got salty about it, kinda like golf. I feel more of a connection with team sports and I admittedly get really salty over those.

Niraj

I shot people I like more for less.
Honestly this wouldn't even be a big deal right now if Djokovic had just broken the first game. He wasted so many chances there.

I didn't know people got so salty over tennis lol

I can understand. Nadal is beasting like Armstrong did with the French tours so is "normal" to suspect. But Nadal has a lot of drug controls during the year and has been always clean (and no other tennis players have ever doubted/accused him).

It isn't just in France though, he dominates on clay in any country

Same, I just can't get salty over Tennis, but maybe it's because I'm not as invested in it as I am in other sports.

Actually, Nadal has RARELY ever been tested Out of competition lol consistently. If people knew how lenient the tests in tennis were they would think VERY differently. I haven't kept up on testing this year, because I gave up, but there are years where Serena and Nadal in particular were hardly tested during the whole year.

In some cases tennis had as many tests as sports like Rugby LOL. Cycling on the other hand, dwarfs it with testing despite so many cheating.

The biggest argument in Nadal's favour is that the quality of Men's tennis during this era has been top-notch. Ironically, if he was less dominant at the French, he's probably be better regarded. It's not like everyone else is a scrub on clay or anything.

I've got to say I would be shocked. I like to think he wouldn't do that. Even if say he did do it once it is pretty obvious Fed doesn't dope much if at all anymore. If he doped he'd still be winning imo.

Remember when he was caught with all that stuff in his bag at the airport?

the goat ship sailed a long time ago for Federer and I'm cool with it.

I don't think this is necessarily true. On one had you have his nemesis, the only person to control him really, and this man has had wild doping allegations for many years.

Nor do the technical details of Nadal's game compare in ANY WAY to the skillset Roger brought. And I am not a Roger fan. I'm a Sampras fan and it hurt to see him overshadowed by Fed. That being said you will never in a million years find me on the Hulk's side.

Another wasted opportunity. At this point, Nadal could point out to Djokovic where to hit the ball to win the point and he still couldn't manage.
