Yup. I mean the guy gets some sympathy for having his wife and child brutally murdered but that doesn't justify raping a god damn 13 year old girl and then running away.
Like seriously? This guy needs Hollywood's support? But, that is how Hollywood works, it is very much a type of gang structure, you gotta pay your debts. Polanski made a lot of people's careers and in Hollywood that means you gotta stay loyal and pay your debt when he asks for it. Which is why people like Jack Nicholson will never speak out against him.

yeah, lot of people get confused that he only went though a psychiatric evaluation not a sentencing and ran away before he could be sentence.
I'm sure Peg would feel the same way if it were her daughter.

I'm not implying that in any way, shape or form. He pleaded guilty. His guilt is not even in question, let alone the crime. And I was shocked by the reaction the European and Filmmaking elite who didn't expect that one of their most talented peers would not be treated as above the law in the US (as sadly, he probably would over here).
But, yeah, at the same time I'm one of those (couple of guys it seems) scoffing both at the people making drive-by insults as if they were bringing justice and at the amount of hate this specific guy generates in this forum.

Yes, there may or may not have been some bullshit with the court case, and there might have needed to be a retrial. However, instead he fucked off to France to escape the next court case.
The guy drugged and raped a 14 year old, and served a grand total of 40 days of "psychological evaluation".
Fuck him.

The insults are childish but his crime tends to evoke a hot emotional response.
Why scoff at the hate? He's a child rapist. I think on the list of things it's okay to hate, child rapist is high up there. He certainly demonstrates his scorn for the people who want him brought to justice and paints himself only as the victim in his case.
Also, the juxtaposition of 'righteous GAF making itself feel superior' and admitting to 'scoffing' at any target is interesting.
