You're on my ignore list, but I had a look at your post out of curiosity. Got quite a hate boner for me, huh? You keep being a snide little corporate ass-kisser :)

The annoying "This user is on your ignore list" stubs all have the `ignored` CSS class, so you can easily hide them with a simple userstyle like this:
Code:
@-moz-document domain('neogaf.com') {
  .ignored {
    display: none;
  }
}
Makes them completely invisible. Might need to look at how you restrict the domain to neogaf.com if you're using Chrome since the above is meant for Firefox. The style itself should work, but might cause false positives on other sites.

I don't think that is true. There are a lot of areas where the game holds a relatively solid 30fps on consoles; someone could literally play for hours at 30fps. Sure there are areas with really bad performance, but the game is not a consistently bad performer, rather it is an inconsistent performer.

Who the fuck tales Gertsman seriously, dude is a joke, his idiotic hate for Yoshi games makes it even worse

As a yoshi fan Jeff is one of the best people in the industry. As for his stance on yoshi some of it makes sense like in this day and age you should aim the eggs with the 2nd stick.

dude really thinks he has a point but the internet is doing him wrong
My experience with RT is that they create an echo chamber where they aren't wrong and move on acting like they were right. It's not worth trying to get them to admit it.

One media outlet talking shit about another media outlet's review? How low class can you be?

To be fair to Rooster Teeth, they're clearly not journalists, they're mega-fans. They indulge themselves in the hype but can't distance themselves enough to be able to talk about a product in a way that their personal bias don't get in the way. It was bizarre to listen to them talk about the technical issues in such a way that they clearly viewed them as separate from the game itself. I'm loving Fallout 4, but really, you cannot compartmentalise the technical problems and view them as an issue that exists outside of your enjoyment of the game. So, that whole "people jizzing over GB for addressing them" is a super strange viewpoint to hold.

Two things - those Pipboys look absolutely awful, I've now no regrets on not getting one. Secondly this, "reviewing low to score traffic" is complete bullshit. Review scales are completely useless if you don't use all of them and opinions are opinions.

Jeff is long enough in this industry to just not give a fuck about their opinions. he gave the game on consoles a 3/5 and PC 4/5, which don't really equate to 6/10 or 8/10.

It is a mess on consoles. Gameplay suffers in buildings. You can't even aim correctly. It is not fun when that happens.

They are right about Jeff being provocative for the clicks. It's why he talks about ranch dressing being gross. He's just being edgy by attacking delicious ranch.

Heh they dug themselves this one. Probably mention it in one of their lets plays soon.

I do find it strange that so many people were wondering if Rooster Teeth was still around, yet that was when they were barely making money and now is actually doing great.

It is strange how Lets Play and Funhaus have some of the funniest video game content, yet are massive fanboys that blind themselves. But then again, I watch for entertainment not game commentary.

What I don't get is, for people being paid by Bethesda/Zenimax to promote their products through entertainment videos, why would you even give your opinion on said product? Like, you might not be a journalist, but have some ethical standards. You still have sway over consumers on a big public platform. At least give it a month, they didn't even give it a week from their Fallout 4 advertorial. Wearing the toys for the game and giving your "honest opinion" (yes he literally says that) on the game is fucked up.

A lot of youtubers think just because they don't slap a score on something they're not 'journalists', so everything else is fair game.

All this did was make me want to visit Giant Bomb more now. I barely visited them in the past, but that is about to change.

The cognitive dissonance and lack of the ability to accept humiliation and be humbled by it from that Ryan person, is down right vomit inducing. And precisely what is wrong with most people in this world. Check your fucking ego, you are bordering on narcissism at that point.

This whole situation is getting blown out of proportion. I doubt Jeff would have even said anything if people didn't keep prompting him about it.

A fucking shelf stocking job at Walmart has stricter ethical guidelines than most game "journalists" or "mega-fans" or whatever the fuck term were using now do. It's absurd.

I just may. I have known who Jeff was since the 90's. The last year or so I have not always agreed with him, our gaming tastes differ even though we are about the same age I believe, but I respect the man, what he has been through, as well as the mere fact he is a true veteran.

I also remember supporting him with the whole Gamespot fiasco back when I used to surf IGN boards (not proud of that, lol), and it was rough. Made me quit that forum real fast.

You could use adblock to accomplish this pretty easily, while still keeping ads on of course.

Eh, I think people low score games for the controversy of it all

If someone really thinks fallout 4 is a 6, that is going to make me look at their reviews of other games, and if see a continued occurrence of grumpiness from said reviewer, than that guys taste are just not similar to my own and chances are his reviews would be misleading

End of the day, the only review you can trust is your own

Giant Bomb isn't a site to use Scores to generate traffic,,, (They're not Polygon).
Also 3/5 =/= 6/10 tbh even though review aggregate sites make it the same...

Yet you would not question 9'so and 10'see given out so liberally? Especially by sites that do work for certain publishers/ad revenue? (Assassin'a Creed Unity and now FO4 anyone?)

Come on man, seems rather bias. Regardless of your last sentence disclaimer.

These guys need to just shut the fuck up, retreat back into their little bubble and keep being corporate shills and make stupid videos they make and be happy someone is paying them to be corporate shills. They don't have integrity and to think that they could actually try to say something to the man in the industry that arguably has the most integrity about a job he's been doing since before these people were even blips in anyone radar is nothing short of laughable.

What? I think Fallout 4 is a 6 at best. Doesn't mean I'm grumpy. This is a ridiculous opinion. Jeff can be pretty cynical but when he likes a game you will damn know it. Look at Mario Maker, that fills him with childish glee. How can opinions be misleading?

I feel the larger discussion is how the internet has changed the purpose of game reviews. They're less about informing or even challenging the consumer now. Look at how poorly the Eurogamer Uncharted 3 review was received, well ahead of anyone actually playing the game. It's about validation and conforming to the marketing hype cycle. The icing on the cake that has been baking for 2+ years. Woe be tide anyone who has the audacity to go against the grain and score the game below the metacritic average. Hype deflating reviews are toxic to a great number of gamers.

I'm super late to this but how the hell does someone in games journalism not know who Jeff Gertsmann is considering what happened to him with Kane and Lynch and the stigma that brought to the industry?

Why not go for 1 if you really want to go for controversy? If you can only trust your own reviews (good luck wasting $60 on dozens of games each year without looking at reviews), then why bother even talking about others' reviews? Such a dumb argument.

I'd give it about a 7. It's fun, and i enjoy it, but man does it have issues. People also abuse the 10 point scale and don't use it right. When a game is only ok at an 8, good at a 9, excellent at a 9.5 we got issues. If you told someone a game was a 5/10, you already think "oh is garbage" when in reality it should be an average game, right in the middle. The problem exists that anything under an 8 us seen as a garbage game, a game, if it was scaled right would be a 2 or 3. This is an issue brought up by a combination of reviewers placating to the audience but also the audience not being able to accept a game in a franchise they like being, in their eyes, smeared by "bad" reviews.
