No, thats nasty and I wouldn't want to walk in my (or anyone's) piss. 0_o

Hell the fuck yeah. Im in and out, don't have the time to go around putting stuff back half way across the store. And again, people get paid to stack things back the way they should.

Nope, but I wouldn't feel bad about leaving drops of food/ drink there if they fell on the table in my eating time.

Yep, never worked with the public a day in my life. Only done YMCA summer child care programs . . . and art programs.

But you know what? I don't give 2 flying fucks how they feel about cleaning up. Its in their fucking job . . . they don't want to do it then they should find a different job. It's like waiters bitching about getting shitty tips . . . want more money then find a job where your not paid by the kindness of strangers.

You take a shit job, you have to do w/e is in that shit job. Be it cleaning the shit smeared walls of a public rest-room or picking up litter in the movies.

These people cleaning up after themselves in the movies or w/e wouldn't make our world any "cleaner" if the movie theater just throws the stuff into a land full and doesn't recycle . . . so maybe thats what we should be worried about?:lol

It will blow by 2 Billion but will be beaten relatively soon by Avatar 2, which will also destroy the opening weekend record.

By the end of the trilogy Cameron will have the 4 highest grossing movies of all time.

I assume you are just joking anyways, but I cant fathom (I know, shame on me for betting against Cameron AGAIN, lolz) Avatar 2 doing better business. It will probably break the all-time opening weekend record with ease, but I cant see another leggy WW monster like Avatar 1 has been.

Indeed.

I imagine that a lot of Avatar's success has been in it almost being the first of its kind. I wonder how much of that appeal will be lost when people have become more accustomed to seeing films in 3D - I imagine that the series could lose quite a lot of its spectacle.

Man, I'm so happy for this movie, more than any I can think of. I have yet to go a third time. I went to see The Lovely Bones, and even though, the audience made me hate the movie a little bit, it was somewhat good, but I wish I'd seen Abadar:lol Thank you Arnold!!! I get this weekend off. I'm going to see this for the final time! It's a weird feeling being soooo happy for a director, that's all ready so successful. But this movie is sooo awesome!!! I'm so happy for it's success!

It wont have Avatar 1's legs, but will it have to? Can you imagine the opening WW weekend?

Can we even fathom such a beast?

Or course, it's been a looooong time since we've had a sequel to the #1 movie of all time (have we ever?), so who knows how it will behave?

Just don't litter and these people will be forced to go back to school and get better jobs. There, problem solved, crisis averted, mother nature is happy.

Ah, thank you. Best analogy. Unfortunately I dont think it will get through, as evident from the above post.
Dude, you're really getting annoying, you know that? You'd probably go postal if you saw the floor after a rock concert. Some guy getting $6 an hour is unfased by it. He and a buddy are cleaning out an entire screen in a fraction of the time it took to actually make the "mess." If, as you guys are saying, it takes not an iota of effort to clean up after yourself, it must not be much harder for someone for whom it's in their job description and has become routine.

It's not like I'm going to buy a blue XXL slushie just to dump all of it on the main front aisle next time I see this movie- I just think that, like maids make beds and replace the towels, and busboys clean up sit-down restaurant tables and wash dishes, and ballpark janitors sweep and pick up after 35,000 drunk people, the movie theater owners are unfased spending a few dollars to employ a couple kids to do what, as you or others have said requires not a single iota of effort anyway.

You sound like a complete asshole. Somebody forget to teach you proper manners.

edit- When I go to movies IF I bring anything at all, I bring my own stuff in... my theater allows this. The concession stands are an absolute scam, I don't understand how people get suckered in by this time and time again. I also make sure to clean up everything I do bring in. I hate when I move my feet and I'm stuck to the floor or I'm kicking bottles/cups around.
Then your theater needs to hire/fire their janitors who can't do their job. Theaters get $8 per person plus concession profits, and it should only take 3-4 seconds per used seat for an employee to clean up afterwards. That's about the same time it takes for you to get your ticket stub ripped.

Two things about those videos:

1. I didnt know Zoe spoke spanish. Hotness + 5000, bringing her hotness total to roughly infinity.
2. Thats the first Ive heard Cameron mention that his next movie might be.... Avatar 2! Hell yes!

Someone should post a (good) crow thread when it beats Titanic. Pictures, graphs, posts, arguments, Wkd BO threads....all that.

Last one was kind of quickly put together, we can do better.

It will be delicious.

This is how the etiquette works where I'm from. Well not where I live, because it's a shit hole, and no one gives a damn, and there's rubbish everywhere. I love the fact that if you're caught littering, you get fined.

Anyway. On the streets, don't litter. Cleaner streets = friendlier streets. You know you're in a decent area when the streets are clean. There is always a bin nearby, there's no excuse.
If you're somewhere, eg, a cinema, well my cinemas always have bins at the exits.. So the idea is that once you're done with the movie, you take your shit and throw it in the bin as you're walking out. It makes everyones life better. Maybe such isn't the case where you guys are. Of course, not everyone does it, so.

Rock Concerts. Well of course it's going to be full of crap. It's full of people, and no bins anywhere. Logic.

I look forward to it. I do agree graphs and whatnot would be funny.

A ray of intelligent and courteous sunshine here. I may not always agree with your posts on GAF, but I am 100% with you on this. Thankfully I am not alone. It is probably best to just let this all pass now.

Oh I have proper manners . . . but I also know people get paid to do stuff and even if they don't like said stuff they should still be expected to do it. >_>

Its like a teacher bitching about whiny kids . . . its your job, don't like it get another one. Just don't expect people around you to "make it easier".

Titanic is at like $1.8 billion. Avatar has no chance.

I don't think so either, but the point is that Avatar has defied any logical expectations.

It's second week is as big as it's first. What if the third is another ~$70? The fourth ~$50? (<-not my predictions, just hypotheticals)

We just don't know, Avatar is not pulling like a normal blockbuster. It's behaving exactly like Titanic, but on a bigger scale.

Here is the choice: a blockbuster involving noble aliens, evil humans and stunning effects that is breaking cinematic records all over the world. Or a patriotic film featuring the life of Confucius.

In China the public may not be given the choice at all. Despite long queues for tickets to see Avatar — which was expected to earn more than 500 million yuan (£45 million) at the Chinese box office — reports claim that the film will be removed from screens for being subversive.

Hong Kong’s Apple Daily reported that the state-run China Film Group had instructed cinemas nationwide to stop showing the 2-D version of Avatar from January 23 on orders from Beijing’s propaganda chiefs.

It is not just the desire to entertain the masses with a Chinese movie that has prompted the censors to step in and pull James Cameron’s hit from 2-D screens. The Government fears that too many citizens might be making a link between the plight of Avatar’s Na’vi people as they are thrown off their land and the numerous, often brutal, evictions endured closer to home by residents who get in the way of property developers.

The newspaper said: “Reportedly, the authorities have two reasons for this check on Avatar: first, it has taken in too much money and has seized market share from domestic films, and second, it may lead audiences to think about forced removal, and may possibly incite violence.”

China’s favourite blogger, Han Han, a twentysomething writer and racing-car driver, was among those who quickly spotted the similarity between the film’s plot and real life. He wrote: “For audiences in other countries, such brutal eviction is something beyond their imagination. It could only take place on another planet — or in China.”

WOW! That did not take long for a tag. I guess I am the leader of the retail worker revolution then? Or at least one of the lieutenants?

I had no idea that the last time a Movie was number 1 for 5 weeks in a row was 1999 with the Sixth Sense.

Im guessing Avatar will make it to 6 weeks at number 1 but go down on week 7

Sorry man but, You can't handle the tooth.

Just caught up reading the last few days of thread. Glad to see someone has agreed with my observation about Quaritch's "dark" American flag.

Anyone else see it yet?

Time for another viewing!

BTW, that flag thing is so well done.
My father in law is coming to town next week. Dragging him to see it in RealD. But really, it's just an excuse to see it again myself. :D
