I'm pretty happy Ryu and his stage are in, since I love SF.

Roy being in is upsetting to me simply because we already had Lucina as a Marth clone. Now we have two, even though I've always liked Roy better than Marth.

Here's hoping they change up Roy somehow to make him play differently than Marth, similar to how they changed Ganondorf to the point where he can no longer honestly be considered a Falcon clone.

Their specials are thematically similar. Charged attack, counter, moving side attack, and sword jump. They function differently enough, true, but Marth is finesse sword guy and Ike is strong sword guy. Lucina is easy mode sword guy girl and Roy is red sword guy.

Im not sure any of the independent things in this post have a link between them.

Though Nintendo vs. Capcom would make the world explode, would kind of be out of place. I doubt any of the hinted at 3rd party partnerships are referring to something of that sort.

Yeah I don't like his inclusion either. We have FIVE Fire Emblem characters now. Three that are extremely similar to each other and hell Ike even has some influence from Marth and is basically Roy on steroids.

Ryu's stage should be awesome though, I was hoping we would get a Nazo no Murasame Jo stage, but this will have to do.

Uh. Ike is the same as marth in that he has a counter and uses a sword... but that's about it.

We don't technically know if Roy is another Marth clone yet. Let's save the rage for tomorrow once it's confirmed, right?

Nope, paid, just like Mewtwo without Club Nintendo promo and Lucas will be. Hopefully they'l do some sort of discounted pack for buying all 3.

I'd look to it more as we have many FE sword wielders when the series has so many fighting styles, ranging from spears to bow and arrow. Robin was a breath of fresh air in that regard atleast.

You can blame this on Sakurai for not adding the secondary weapons each character can wield (you know to at least diversify them a bit more) and the fact that Ike wasn't even "slow strong sword guy" in the first game he appeared.

That's Ryu's stage though... and arguably THE SF2 stage. Indeed, way to Go Sakurai. This will be a fantastic addition.

It was the normal thing to add because its Ryu's stage. But its SO boring its not iconic at all. Chun Li's and Ken's are more iconic and visual pleasing.
I was hoping Sakurai didnt go the easy route and actually put a not boring visual stage. And i thought the idea of cheering street fighter charcters as audience a really fun one.
Not hating ryu's inclusion, but the stage is boring as hell.

Considering what most charge for DLC, and considering you can pick and choose the characters you want, I'd say £4.50 for DLC that works on two games is pretty good.
