Usually, when Kopite7kimi shares updates on the GeForce series, it means NVIDIA has provided specs to board partners. This doesn't always mean the specs are final, and we've seen them change many times before.

Apparently, the time for the RTX 5080 SUPER has come. The leaker claims this model will feature the GB203-450 GPU with 10,752 CUDA cores. This rumor suggests that the RTX 5080 SUPER and RTX 5080 would share the same core count, which is surprising. However, the SUPER variant is said to include an upgrade in memory, now offering 24GB of GDDR7.

Of course, this means the RTX 5080 SUPER will use 3GB GDDR7 modules, just like the RTX 5090 (Laptop GPU). The leak goes further, claiming the RTX 5080 SUPER will also feature 32 Gbps memory—the fastest GDDR7 spec to date.

This account is actually legit with the info he shares. This is absolutely massive!

24GB VRAM is *chefs kiss* 32gpbs mem speed. NVIDIA win if all this is confirmed

It wont even come close to beating a 4090 and will cost $1300 at least

GDDR7 has been big time underwhelming in terms of performance benefits.

AMD is showing they made the right choice sticking with GDDR6.

I can't help but wonder if availability would have been better for the 5000 series if they had stuck with GDDR6X

Oh absolutely I don't disagree. I think going GDDR7 fucked them over. Its nothing but underwhelming

But can they solve the availability anytime soon? Personally I don't see it happening

It being the same core count is what most have predicted knowing that the 5080 was full die already. It's a memory increase to what the 5080 should have already been and will be around +400 on the clock speed which the 5080 can already do. Is this the first Super without more CUDA cores?

If 5080 was released with 24gb, it would have been amazing...

Albeit tempting, but I'll just hold onto my 4080 Super till next upgrade cycle. Hopefully next UDNA architecture, or Rubin 3nm node chipsets will bring some real generational upgrade.

I'm sure if there was the a RTX 5080 Ti Super, it still probably wouldn't beat the RTX 4090.

That's how bad Nvidia has gotten, progression wise.

Kudos to those who bought a RTX 4090 at MSRP however many years ago (feels like a decade at this point).
