The only way this makes any sense at all is if it's a different kind of console and not another "playstation killer".
It seems like desperation to me but the only way I could see it make a little sense is if they can get that console out for GTA6 and clearly be the best place to play itWhy do this? More powerful hardware isn't their problem lol.
Where are the exclusive GAMES microsoft?
What helped the 360 do so well in sales, because it was a openly hacked console and easy to run backups on.They did it with 360 and it ended up going well, I think that would be the better choice for Xbox right now, and for gamers too, release a next gen console, and back it up with new games/ip

Even that is a stretch imo
Is it convoluted to think they’ll drop a new console because GTA6 won’t run on a Series S? After the whole parity feature being abandoned for BG3 I can totally see Rockstar not willing to make that game work on a Series S. So a new console circumvents all of this? One last chance to save face.I could see a new Xbox coming out along side GTA6 or just after GTA6 hits the market.
This gen started 4 years ago.Already? This gen hasn't even started.
If they’re going through with what was leaked earlier this year their next console will be a < $99 GamePass streaming box.

They won’t need tech advances.
Isn't that essentially the definition of a console? A dedicated gaming PC with a brand name behind it.There was just some speculation in another thread that something less like a console and more like surface could work. Not neccesarily a tablet, but a pc that's xbox branded and marketed as built for gaming.
3 years and 1 month ago to be precise. But I think the main reason why it feels like it has just started it's because so many games were delayed and are just starting to come out. This gen started 4 years ago.
The way consoles work now there really doesn’t need to be gens any more.

I will post the links to read through just prefer taking screenshots because I always have themRight now, I'm more curious about when, exactly, people lost the ability to post readable images on forums without linking to Twitter (or, you know... whatthefuckever).
Thanks, although you did kinda miss the point...I will post the links to read through just prefer taking screenshots because I always have them

They should first release all the games they announced years ago and used to convince people buying into their ecosystemMicrosoft deserves the right to launch a new console because we know cars, laptops, phones are released yearly.
I think it's this slide, though specs may have changed. Thanks, although you did kinda miss the point...

All I have is hope. Most here seem to think that xbox is done so.. I wouldn't keep my hopes up if I were you
Gotta love it when “insiders” give these bs dates. Might as well just say 2025-2027
Math is hard. This gen started 4 years ago.

Spencer III is really desperate (desperado) dude really wants that console war trophie doesn’t he?
Team Xbox is still dreaming about that 360 era head start.
Nutella needs to take over before this manchild ruins the Xbox brand fufurther.
It wouldn't work - devs prioritize the SKU that is gonna sell the most, not which box is the strongest. MS' ability to sell Xbox HW is at an all time low, and a stronger box doesn't fix any of its issues, hence why they are opening up their publishing support to other platforms. Devs are still gonna prioritize PS/Nintendo/Mobile. Its what happens now and everyone is making hand over fist cash. Only way 3rd party makes money on Xbox is by signing a GP deal, a practice that MS is set to cut down on in the not-so-distant future.i think majority of the devs is still going to prioritize the ps5 console instead of the next gen X.
this is a risky move by Microsoft imo.
I have not seen one game that has wowed me this generation.Already? This gen hasn't even started.

Not one game I can name.
Not even remotely close to happening. It seems like desperation to me but the only way I could see it make a little sense is if they can get that console out for GTA6 and clearly be the best place to play it

They should've learned from the One X that the "best place to play" doesn't matter they didn't get any momentum going into next-gen after that beastly hardware and trying to tie the console to GTA6 is a fools errand for a franchise synonymous with playstation and i'm sure they'll have bundles with the pro. Not doubting what you've heard i'm just not buying that Microsoft would be that stupid I agree they might be desperate but you don't become the richest company in the world by making boneheaded decisions as this unless they go scorched earth and make everything they've purchased exclusive it's the only way it'll work.It seems like desperation to me but the only way I could see it make a little sense is if they can get that console out for GTA6 and clearly be the best place to play it

Yeah no chance for a new TES in a few years. They just went in full production this year. At least 6-7 years out more-like if not more.NeXtBox with GTA VI, Fable, Indiana Jones, New Forza Horizon and New Elder Scrolls as Launch Titles.
PC Gamers also going to be eating good.
