It would seem from better translations of the Chinese leak that Alola has no Pokemon League at the beginning of the game, and the player character and Hau set out to build one by scouting potential Gym Leaders and Elite Four members.

That would be fun. It can also give more personality to the gym leaders and elite four, since it will probably have character arcs for each one ending in a fight.

This would actually be pretty awesome. Would provide a different kind of story structure that could help the game feel fresh and meatier.

Let me play devil's advocate here. It's entirely possible that the person on smogon is making this up. Rockruff evolving into a werewolf is entirely guessable if you read the Sun/Moon page for him. I'm only a LITTLE skeptical because the person didn't really link the leak did he? Of course this doesn't explain why the pictures are being taken down from google, or how he convinced the mods to let him discuss it though. I'm just saying it could have been simple to come up with some of this stuff and then take an existing picture that no ones disproved and add it to the leak for credibility.
With that said I do think there's a good chance of this being legit, even though I don't like some of it, I do find it odd that confidential pictures would leak, and then someone else completely would leak info, surely you'd think they'd tighten security up a little, don't you think?

Yeah, but it'd be nice if we could get accurate confirmation of when it was posted. It's just that a lot of this is stuff we already know or could make guesses of. Using an image floating around the internet for awhile, Marshadow being trademarked for a while, rockruff could have been an easy guess if you read the page, the synchro(?) stuff has been speculated for awhile too. It just seems like someone took a lot of existing information, made some guesses and took some photo no one has disproved and merged it into one leak.
AGAIN, i'm not saying its fake, because I don't really think it is.

Having you build up the league then battling it in the post game would be fairly interesting.
Even assuming this is real there's literally no way they'd go that route.

Well yeah. Doesn't make it not interesting. I still want eight leaders either way. I wouldnt really be cool with Island leaders if their are only four.

With the exception of Greninja, I don't think they've had good final evo starters since 4th gen.

I would put all 5 of them firmly below every single other starter. Which sucks, because I at least like all of their "baby" forms.
Hoping this leak is real and we get the archer bird. The final evo for Poplio is disappointing, but that's what I expect these days...

can we now all agree that Poppolio is the best starter? Okay, the owl archer is also pretty neat. Litten turns into an abomination

I love all three. If these concepts are real, they are hands-down my favorite trio of starters.
But yes, Popplio's selkie/siren/mermaid evo is probably my favorite, too.

Yeah I just looked it up because I was curious lol. I edited my earlier post, it just says Owl 3, Tiger 3, and Sea Lion 3.

I love Delphox and I love Samurott and Serperior. Don't care for Emboar. I think starters are usually solid but gen 5 had a tough act to follow cause Gen 4 was so awesome with the starters.

i can only really make out a few of the smaller notes, like "when it's uncomfortable" under the image where rowlet3 is pulling its drawstrings and "arrows come from here" next to the picture where it's aiming the arrow, and "fire belt" and "tiger swing" for litten3. there's some more than can probably be made out by someone more qualified than i am but yeah it's awfully hard to read
I wish we knew some of the notes on the siren. Again, with the caveat it's all unconfirmed. But still, I want to know!

I shoved my face directly against my laptop screen and opened my eyes really wide. The thing at the top looks like it says "creature" and then some stuff. To the top-right, above the owl's head and glasses, it looks like it says Furatto or something like that. It also looks like there's the standard ZZZ above the sleeping tiger man. That's all I could make out.
Mind you, it would probably help if I actually read Japanese.
EDIT: I recognize the kanji for bow on the bottom of the first section. I think that confirms that the owl Pokemon is wielding a bow.

Volcarona also has a higher BST, an amazing boosting move and a contact deterrent ability. I'm telling you fighting is the easiest way to make trash Fire starters worth a damn without throwing off their flawed starter triangle. The proof is in the pudding really. With all 3 examples, Mevos aside, making Typhlosion, Charizard and Delphox look like sad cases.
Fire is defensively mediocre and greatly suffers in singles play due to SR. Fighting not only offers an amazing STAB alongside it but neutralizes said SR weaknesses. A decent benchmark on its own with only stat spread, ability and movepool left to worry about. They also had an opportunity to revise other types and clearly didn't for this, so there's really no point in discussing it.
Personally, I'd say that combo can be as played out as it wants really. The persistence on keeping FWG as a starter triangle is even worse.

Rowlet can attack without making a sound! It flies silently through the skies, drawing near to its opponent without being noticed, and then lashing out with powerful kicks. It can also attack from a distance using the razor-sharp leaves that form part of its feathers.
Its visual abilities are impressive. The darkness of night is no obstacle to Rowlet! It can twist its neck nearly 180° from front to back so it can see directly behind itself. I can agree with haven't had a solid fully evolved line up since Gen IV, but I also think that's the only time we had a solid line up of fully evolved starters.
Also Seperior and Chesnaught already exceed every other Grass line for me because they actually convinced me to go grass, which I've only done for Chikorita in Silver and regretted once I got a Meganium.

If they really take that route with the game, it'd also make it much more likely that they'd actually allow Ash to win this time in the anime and there would be no reset going into the next region, since that premise would fit pretty well with a Champion main hero.
I don't like Sceptile. It's a step down from Grovyle.
I don't like Treecko either. Grovyle's coolness is an anomaly.

Just read on Smogon that these leaks come from the poster's friend and not the poster themselves, and it's the poster's friend who claims that they saw these leaks before Salandit's reveal and no real proof has been offered to support that claim. Put me down for skeptical.
Also, didn't we get the Komala and Rockruff CoroCoro leaks on the 10th of last month? Might not be long until this month's issue.

Yeah the Owl 3/Tiger 3/Sea Lion 3 thing makes me much more skeptical now. The leaks usually come out on the 11th Japan Time (which happened with Rockruff/Komala) unless there's something major. If there's nothing by the 12th, then it probably won't be much, if anything.
You only bothered to find that out now? Poster themself has claimed they're holding back info because they're "worried about their reputation on Smogon if the leaks are false". smh

Honestly I browsed through her post history a bit on Smogon and they seemed like a pretty well-liked and honest sounding person, so I kind of thought they wouldn't risk their account by making stuff up. I hope it's real now too since I made the thread and all haha, plus I legitimately love those Starters.
