[RUMOR] Suicide Squad List of Deleted Scenes, or "How Warner B-butchered the movie".

And we are done here.

Roger Ebert used to have a good line about "they could have showed the missing reel of Magnificent Ambersons and it still would have been a bad movie." It totally applies here.
If nothing else I'd like a better edited version that makes fleshes out what's there. The final cut feels meatless.

Ebert also called The Brown Bunny the worst film in history. Later, he gave it a positive review upon viewing a re-edit.

Reading over that list, it really does feel very similar to Kingdom of Heaven DC where a lot of the content that should have been left, got removed completely destroying several characters.

Harley and Joker's character got butchered from that list. It reads like this was a film originally meant for Harley becoming her own character and breaking away from Joker due to that poisonous relationship. And it also gives another take on the Joker that is different from the others. In some ways, more villainous since you can see how he manipulates her.

The other half being them removing the scenes with the supporting cast. At least then we would have known Croc's story, that Boomrang is a racist asshole. I think El Diablo was fine.

They still needed to reedit the entire film since what was up on the screen was trash, but it didn't feel like it wasn't salvageable.

Who gives a shit what Ebert says anyway, he hasn't had a good review in like 3 years

I'm sorry

In early cuts, the movie's opening detailed June Moon's posession by Enchantress in real tome. Reshoots reshuffled the scene to be later in the movie in flashback form in favour of a new opening centered on Deadshot.

I kept thinking that it would've made way more sense to open with this rather than just mentioning her as another Squad member. Such a bizarre choice.

Yeah, these cuts include what should have been a much better and more cohesive film. Thanks Execs for once again butchering a movie beyond oblivion. I mean just make the Joker a more centralized character and seeing him interact in a more weird, psychotic abusive relationship with Harley, and not to mention having him show up in the end and actually fight with the Suicide squad would have made a much climatic ending. Hell just get rid of Incubus, rework Enchantress more to that grungy sword wielding character, remove the blob monsters would've probably really helped the movie, IMO.

I feel like picking Air Bud at random for that joke will be both my greatest triumph and my worst mistake

Also oh my god Fury v Air Bud is the most confusing movie battle of all time

Well if reports are true the movie ended up how it did because Tests of the movie to audiences across the country found they did not like it Which led to the Studio butchering it.

Easy to write up scenes to make them sound great versus how they actually play out

None of that would have helped the ridiculous villian, the flat pacing, the zero chemistry between the SS, cardboard writing, and inconsistent casting.

Dead

well not really...yet

Yeah, would have been a much better framing device in order to better establish her as the main villain.

Instead she's all of a sudden the villain and just pops into Waller's room to steal her brothers totem. Very lazy plotting.

I feel bad for Leto.

Obviously he's not the main focus of the film, but people aren't idiots. They can follow two plotlines, one of Joker trying to save Harley, the other of trying to take down Enchantress.

Some of that footage sounds great. Would it have salvaged the movie? Eh, I think the film would've been better off with that footage than not.

They're going to micro-manage the fuck out of their movies which is why they'll probably never be good. They came into the idea of creating Cinematic Universe already behind and play scared to try and force it.

Can I just say that Boomerang's (light-hearted? mean?) racist and sexist jab towards Katana maybe the reason it didn't get released in China.

It was probably down to the supernatural occulty stuff which China apparently frowns upon.

Cant really see whoever yay or nays western films for the chinese market caring if the Japanese get insulted.

I feel bad for David Ayer. Fury is a really good film.

I feel bad for everyone involved. This could have been a better movie, but it's clear that WB doesn't know what it's doing. It sucks to see them damage the DCEU with self-sabotage. All this potential and talent are being wasted.

I knew there had to be some Joker scene near the final battle that got cut. It seemed so weird to have the botched helicopter rescue and then have him just disappear from the rest of the movie until the last minute or so.

Ah yes, rape; for when you're too lazy a writer to put any thought in showing how evil your character is.

This. Warner Bros is their own worst enemy, here.

Hoping that Wonder Woman isn't an edited disaster.

Batfleck to save us all.

I was going to use a pass to see this but at this point I might as well wait for the inevitable definitive edition in a few months. Kind of wish I'd done that with BvS now :x

Maybe this is just me being unfamiliar with the Joker's skill set, but I can't imagine how the film could actually feel like tense suicide mission by replacing the climatic enemy with a violent clown when a magic, world-ending event doesn't even manage to do it.

Some is going off impressions of those who saw the earlier versions compared to what they thought of this new one.

It could've been worse. It could've been better. Chances we'll know are incredibly slim. We can only speculate.

This is gonna be like BvS, I guess it's their schtick now... release a chopped-up, half-ass movie in theaters, then release the full version (3/4-ass, maybe) six months later. At this rate, I think we can all safely skip every theatrical release from WB/DC from now on and just wait for the home video.

This is the same studio that let Miller cook with Fury Road for an obscene amount of money and an absurd amount of time

WB are a director focused studio, moreso than any out there, but they're freaking out with DC stuff in particular and I'm not sure why

Sounds like these scenes and such added in and reedited to be more current and less flash back forced would have made the opening of the film a lot better. Would not have saved the terrible ending though.
