It would be cool if Nintendo and Capcom worked out a deal and Retro was making the next Megaman. Be it 2D Tropical Freeze style or Legends style, that'd be huge.

First 12 months of Switch will be crazy when it comes to First Party.

I was hoping for both a new Donkey Kong County and a new Metroid Prime from Retro on the switch, but I suppose a new game could be good too.

I don't give names out of respect for my friend, but I can confirm it easily enough. There's a Retro employee here on GAF. If he's agreeable I can PM him my name, my friend's name, and he can talk to them at work and confirm that I'm not making this up. That said, I don't have any actual insider info. She takes her job incredibly seriously and has never given me even a hint of their current projects, although she likes to hear my speculation. What she has told me, quite directly, is that everything Dmoly Rogers has ever said about Retro is categorically wrong and that Emily clearly doesn't know anyone in the studio.

Not particularly shocking. I recall that editorial she did on Retro a few years ago which was a huge pile of crap. I would imagine sources for Nintendo hardware information are coming from 3rd party/indie studios, and possibly within NoA somewhere. I don't think anyone is getting info from inside any of the Nintendo software teams, east or west.

Please be a joke.

It isn't, and I don't see why it's such a silly suggestion, other than for the misnomer that 'Nintendo=Kiddy. Adult = Blood, sex, swearing and dudebro'.

I want to see Nintendo diversify their output and experiences. Their first-party production is the best of any company, though there are surely plenty of genres and styles that have been lapsed.

I want them to create more mature content not for an adult/mature crowd, but for a different ensemble of themes, settings and presentation; I see Fire Emblem's and Zelda:BotW as this sort of 'mature'.

Every man, woman, child and being capable of holding a controller of any kind wants Retro to make more Metroid.

Retro not making Metroid.

Honestly, I'm fine with Retro doing something else besides Metroid. They already did a lot with Metroid.

People are just sad because nobody else seems to be able to make a good Metroid at Nintendo.

Wait for it being the Switch version of Splatoon or even Mario Kart 8, because they already worked on Mario Kart.

The saddest thing is how many guys at Retro Studio left after each game. How is it possible that Nintendo is unable to keep talent there?

I am sad they arent doing Metroid :( Not because i need them to work on it, but I do need somebody to work on it.

Not working on Metroid is great, no 'third' DK would be a bit of a bummer.

Looking forward to whatever else they got cooking up

First person Eternal Darkness sequel/reboot please.

I think you'd lose a lot of what made Eternal Darkness good if you made it first person. I could see something similar to the RE4 camera working, but you'd still lose the fixedish camera angles with that too.

This is my thoughts too. Although first-person could bring it further into horror.

Regardless I'm in for whatever Retro is making

Retro have never made a bad game and have made multiple masterpieces. They're incredibly consistent. Whatever they're making is probably one of the few Day 1 buys for me.

I´m cool with this. I´d love a new DK, but I´d also love a new MP. I´d also love for them to create a new IP, or even to resurrect any older Nintendo IP. The 5 games I´ve played from them have been stellar so I´ll be there day one with whatever they release next.

This would be awesome!

This gives me great hopes, mostly because they have incredibly talented people there and letting their minds wild could be very good.

It's kinda the nature of Western devs to shuffle around employees a lot. What's important is that they maintain their standards regardless of who's there.

I have to call somebody out on this. Who cares??

Those guys who left haven't made any Metroid or DKC caliber games. All that matters is Nintendos philosophy is instilled to the people at the Studio. And how come nobody ever mentions the Naughty Dog people and others who joined Retro?

I'm totally fine with Retro not being on DK anymore, and DK is one of my fav franchises of all-time, like top 3 easily.

Hey Nintendo...

Didn´t someone said, that it will be game with a witch? I just hope it is an Action Adventure game or some sort of and not a 2d jump-run.

I need a Game where I can use awesome spells. Especially after I saw the KH 0.2 Aqua footage.
